Wow, you both look so healthy. Looks like you've both lost weight and are glowing! The longer you're is Brissy, the better life gets! It's nice to see some of your old content again!
Hey Ross! Can you do a “Aussie shops” video? Kinda over view of each of the australia shops what they are best known for what you want to shop there for or what to avoid buying there because of price or quality and like their reputations? For example: Canadian Tire here in Canada. It’s kinda like a hammer barn but more auto stuff and you can get your car fixed too. They have great deals on random housewares (think pirex set for $5) but unless you’re on a tight budget or if you have a real nice car you should probably have your car looked after somewhere else. That sorta inside info.
I enjoy watching all your content. I must admit that I’m also very impressed with your editing. My wife also thinks you have a dry sense of humour and should have been born an Aussie😊
Cheers from W.A. Between Coles, Woolies, Aldi and farmers' markets, most of what you want can be found. Substituting is no big deal, and I can go without if some item's price skyrockets. You both look great, have a safe and happy Christmas.
Being here makes you question how much you really need things, which I think is a much better mindset to be in overall. The answer most of the time is that you probably don't need it
Well done guys and both looking great :) Not sure if its just a WA issue, but we here are saving lots at ALDI, as there is NO STOCK of quite a few items. Looks more like Xmas Eve shelves than weeks before.
Hello The Johnston family good to see you. Wow it’s good to see your baby for the first time, so, so cute 👍🦋🌺🌈💖❤️😊😘⭐️🎄🙏🏻hope to hear from you both soon. God Bless all, lots of hugs from Edith in cairns Top North.
A few years ago I shopped in Aldi which I was happy with. My teenage kids complained! So I went back to Coles. One night my son who decided to cook some pasta used a jar of basil pesto hidden away in the pantry. It was delicious, so he said how much better It was shopping back in Coles. I just laughed because the pesto was still there from Aldi days! He learned a lesson and now he’s married they shop in Aldi. 😸
Hi, Really interesting guys. Our friends in QLD told us that Aldi is hugely cheaper than Woolworths or Coles. I couldn't believe the cost now of groceries in Australia!!! Crazy!!Your Aldi store is very similar prices to the UK though. I just find that UK supermarkets just have massive selection of food, hence my weight gain since returning lol Love your videos as fascinating to watch. Lv x
By the way I’ve used the the same dishwasher powder now, it works better than the tablet. I reckon the tablets leaves strict mark on the glasses and like chalky spots on the plates. God Bless and have a great day or night ❤️from Edith in cairns Top North.
@@ThatJohnstonLife To be honest I didn’t like it at first, but my x partner say he love it and he’s using it all the time ❤️🙏🏻from Edith in cairns Top North
We’ve been doing most of our shopping at Aldi since it first arrived in Aus… we’re a family of 4 and usually spend about $300 per week, more when our 17 yo daughter comes with us. Sometimes I’ll come home with something I don’t need from the centre isle because it’s a good price. The alcohol is also reasonable for the price, but I know you don’t have that in Qld
Pretty much the only downside of living in QLD 😆 Aurora is already asking for things in the centre aisle. I wonder how long it will be George before she starts putting things in the trolley
@@ThatJohnstonLife When my daughter was younger anything from Aldi, BigW or KMart was ok… now it needs to be designer labels for clothing and shoes. At least most of the food from Aldi she like… she was putting stuff in the trolley from the time she could walk 😄
LOL! Had to check this video for a 3rd times to check out the ALDI prices which aren’t too different from where I do my shop as the prices aren’t listed on the ALDI website for bottled milk for example! Also, I read a few of the other comments and was glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed you both look amazing and fit! Looks like life is agreeable with you at this moment. Best wishes Johnston family ❤
Many of the items seem to be priced about the same as in the US but I am always surprised at the high cost of fresh veggies. In the winter we have to import ours but the cost doesn't seem to change on most things. Your new baby is such a cutie😊
I believe you can buy the a 4-pack of the Woolworths branded coconut water for $10-11. Saxbys makes a great ginger beer drink( theirs has a more sharper taste) and they also do a “ no sugar added “ version..
OMG! YOU'RE LIKE A QUARTER OF THE SIZE! Not a diss (far from it) I just havent seen you since the baby. The last baby? After my last one I was THE THINNEST ENERGETICIST PUMPED AS I had ever been. I think its like a "gift with purchase" thing - u have the last one and after you get a fantastic bod. Looking good. Oh the food? Ive got to go to Aldi tomoro so ill find out then.
@@ThatJohnstonLife yeah mate similar on few things, but I'd say that stuff u showed 80% of thos products are lower prices here, like milk $2.70 to 3-40 here and meat over there seems way more pricey by far! Yeah .. the cost of living 🥴. It can be a hit n miss with groceries. It can vary depending where you are buy from (not just the supermarket but the location, the cities often more pricey) and also the time of year. If there's been lots of floods then certain things go up too(remember the lettuce lol). Lots of things are cheaper at Aldi and few are slightly more pricey than Woolies and some stuff is about the same. I remember Kaitlyn did a comparison of Woolies and her old grocery store in the USA ,using the online shop apps and it was actually a bit dearer in America. Local farmers markets and discount fruit and veg can save you money on those items. Might be worth doing a comparison one day and see what it could save you. I remember while living in Sydney I would sometimes go to the markets, especially in the last hour before closing as stuff was reduced down even further and you could get some great bargains.
You are definitely a dinky-di Australian now because we all check off our receipts after a shop......My best tip is to not waste any food becuase statistically people throw out 1/3 of all food they buy. I have a husband and 4 teenagers and it is pretty rare for me to throw out any food.......I know not everyone can do this particularly if both parents have full-time jobs but I think the money I save around the home buy not throwing out food and other things means I only have to work a part time job.......I always get shelf stable/UHT milk so we don't have to throw it out.
To be honest even with your price rises a lot of your stuff is the same price as stuff over in n.Ireland here .bar the catsucums 🤣🤣 like milk is £2 for 2 litres now .finally receive a 189invite so soon hopefully be over living the dream like yourselves .🤣

Thanks for making this video to record the history of our inflation ☹️ Aldi had gone to 💩💩💩 over the last few years, the range of food has declined badly.. They don't even sell dry catfood in my local Aldi !
Aldi has become just as expensive as the majors now, they discount by 1 cent under everyone. Today I noticed new price boxes and labels across their store, this must have cost millions to role out across Australia. They ban plastic straws and yet Aldi produce millions of new labels even although the old ones were just fine...this is why their prices have gone up on a near monthly basis the past six months....overall it's a poor experience in their stores and the staff are let's say "different" but not that good.
I agree. It can be sometimes a little hit and miss. There a lie a few Aldi products we prefer, like all the main supermarkets, but not always cheaper. We find ourselves drifting between all 3 for our main shop

In Australia 90% of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, milk and eggs sold in supermarkets are domestically produced.
We have had a year of floods on & off, so prices fluctuate where fresh produce is involved
@@davidjohnpaul333 I can see where that could have a major impact.
Thanks Kathleen. I think a lot of the countries with cheaper food are starting to catch up in price now
Try baby wipe box of 6 packs for $8 they are good cheaper at Big W rather than Aldi and smell nice as well.
