I`m so happy that I found your channel. To see you knitting and and talking in a very relaxing way makes me smile.I also enjoy your walks and talks about historic places and things around you. Greetings from Sweden.
Hello Andrew! It's always good to see you. Congrats on getting to the sleeves on your daughter's jumper. Father God, please wrap your loving arms around your flock on Arran - they need your love and guidance right now. Especially your son, Andrew. Please place the right home in his path for his family and teaching position for his wife. Amen.
I love watching anything about knitting! I’m in the US but I’ve always longed to at least visit the UK so watching you fills a bit of that for me. And I love when you show us the Isle!!!
Always interesting, Andrew...you are a resourceful man to gather said crafters to interview, something I would thoroughly enjoy, hearing other Islanders' stories...Happy Blessed Easter and enjoy your own personal holiday with your wife!
It's finally cooling down here, thank goodness! I've been sitting and watching this with my knitting and my parrot (who kept pausing and rewinding the video by licking the screen!) and enjoying a bit of quiet time. Well, as quiet as it can be with a noisy creature crawling all over me!
I so enjoy the time you spend chatting with us. Transitions in life are hard no matter if they are positive or stressful. Good luck with whatever happens with your living situation. I have two color work hats to complete and one other project prior to the start of a shawl KAL starting on April 21st. Once it is completed, I will begin to work on a Gansey sweater. I have all my materials gathered now and will be ready to go hopefully by June 1. Hoping to be able to make myself sit and knit for two periods of the day during the summer so I can make good progress. I would love to have it completed so I can have it to wear next winter.
Another wonderful video Andrew, thanks for your content and so happy that you have made the 10K subscribers…and here you thought no on was tuning in! Take care, have a wonderful get a way and Happy Easter to your family and friends. From Yakima, Washington, USA. 😎
My goodness how wonderful :D There may be hope for me then, I lived in temporary accomodation as a child (one step above being homeless) so we didn't have fancy things like bikes and computers and what-not. In my teens and young adulthood I learned to code and now I'm a fulltime software engineer :D As for the cycling though, I've always wanted to learn but it seems like an insurmountable task to learn how to ride a bike as an adult D:
I have the same housing challenge. Amelia Island is as far Northeast in Florida as you can get without being in the ocean or Georgia. We also have a big tourist season it starts in April and goes to September. Houses on the island start at 400,000. And these are for houses that are two bedrooms basically and one bath and between 60 and 70 years old without being updated very much. A new house is about $650,000 and up. Thank goodness there is a bridge off the island instead of a ferry. I live off Island in the cheap seats. I bought my house 21 years ago and it was $125,000 US. It is only 40 years old but we've done a fair job of keeping it up to date. If I had were to sell it today it would probably be worth $400,000 to $450,000 US. As of last year I'm a widow. I can't afford to move anywhere because my house will not bring me enough money to buy something even smaller.😢 Tourism is wonderful it keeps the area alive and growing. But it also makes it hard for the average working person here to afford to live here. A lot of them live at least an hour away. Hope this does not happen where you are. 🤞
I hear you on the subject of double pointed needles. I discovered magic loop and suddenly sock knitting is a joy!! Good luck and prayers for the house hunting.
Praying 🙏 that you find a new home to enable you to keep up your wonderful work on the island and across the globe. I enjoy knitting and crocheting listening to you. Thank you 😊
Thank you once again for a relaxing and inspiring podcast that reflects real life! I do hope you manage to stay on the Island and find a home for you and your family and can continue God’s work ❤ I’m glad there is someone like me who still uses a paper and pen to count rows lol 😂xxx
i enjoyed your extra stitch episode, I was able to finish my heel gusset on my sock. I hope you had a nice Easter and are having restful holiday. Prayers for your housing situation on the island.
It’s a gray day here on the east coast of the US. Your podcast brightens it! I’m working on a sleeve of the Metropolis sweater by Tanis Lavallee. Hope to finish it this week. Wishing you success in your house hunting.
Hello Andrew I really enjoyed your little knitting chat while I crochet on a baby blanket. I make several baby blankets a year to donate to a couple local charities. I like to consider my yarn and time go toward my tithe and it is such an enjoyable and relaxing thing to do. Love your podcast and looking forward to more visits with you in Scotland. Thanks ever so much for sharing with us.
Wishing you the best of luck to stay on the island, I'm sure things will work out for you :) Housing prices in Australia are ridiculous currently as well, many people are being out-priced in their local areas. I hope you all have a wonderful Easter. I'm finishing up a crochet baby blanket for my neighbour, a crochet scarf for my grandma, and learning to knit and on the foot part of my first pair of knitted socks :) Your podcasts keep me company while I work during the day
Ah, Andrew! Your comment on your daughter seeing her boyfriend brought back memories of my daughters dating days. It was a terrifying time 😃. I love how your daughter's jumper is going. It looks great! My Mrs and I keep you and yours in our daily prayer. Have a wonderful Easter.
I'm not surprised at all that your channel is growing. You are a delight to watch and listen to. You bring much joy to my day. After I listened to your last song, I awoke the next day with Enyas "How can I keep from singing"in my head, which made my whole day delightful. Thank you for gracing us with your presence ❤
Andrew, thank you for sharing your life with us as well as with your various congregations! I am praying for a good housing solution for you and your family that will allow you to continue serving on Arran. It's lovely to know that the Giver of life delights to give us what we need - and so much more.
Thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing yourself and beautiful home land. My husband and I are lucky enough to be coming to Scotland in May. Can't wait. Take care and good luck to you and your family in your upcoming home journeys.
Thanks for joining me while knitting and drinking a cup of tea. All the best for you and your family for the coming challenges. Happy and blessed Easter
Hello again Andrew. I am working on the sleeves of my Monday Sweater just like you. Kudos to you for doing the Italian bind off. I got a little impatient and decided to try it on a project that didn't have quite so many stitches. I do like the way it looks. Prayer that you find a place to live that is managable for your family. Enjoy your time off with your wife after a busy Easter Week. Sounds like you have a lot of nice content coming up in the future! Take care!
Hi Andrew, I also live in a very popular tourist area in Aust so fully understand what you say about the tourists, it's almost that bad here we feel like approaching our council for a resident only week as we never have an off season. Your daughters jumper is beautiful, you may not think so but it is, have never tried an Italian bind off but was very pleased to teach myself to do a Latvian braid. Hope your voice holds out for till the end of Easter festival. All you subscribers I am sure love your restful podcasts, your singing, and scenery and last but certainly not least your craft so am not surprised about the 10 K subs. All the best to the little daughter at camp and the elder one and your wife and you on the well earned short break.
Wow! What a nice surprise, Andrew! Thanks for the reminder about IG and will be praying about the housing situation. Have a blessed Easter and time away with the wifey! 💚🧶✝️🤓
Not important but fun: your fountain pen. 😎 It’s my husband’s hobby and always the writing instrument of choice around here! 🖋 Happy Easter to you and your family❤
Your podcast is one of my favorites!! Very sad to hear of a church closing!! I pray your family will find the best fit for a house and you will be able to continue with your ministry on the island. I joined the gansey KAL in the form of socks as I live in a climate where there sadly isn't much use for a sweater!! I wasn't able to complete the socks in time, but will have them finished soon!! I am currently trying to get a baby blanket finished for a baby soon to be born!
Congrats on reaching another milestone with your channel. I loved your comment "what are you doing to me?" Made me chuckle. Love watching your videos and am happy to see your channel is so successful. Happy Easter to you and your family.
Glad you have options. Real estate is inflated in USA too. One of our local churches just closed as well. A lot of history there, it’s quite sad. Sending you well wishes and many prayers 🙏 God Bless ✝️
I'm at an age that travel is not very appealing anymore. But if I could travel it would be lovely to visit the charming Isle of Aran Also would fancy a long chat about living a Christ following life on today's world! Keep up all the good work with your community , family, blogging and knitting 😊
I really enjoyed spending time with you, Andrew. Enjoy your holiday, good luck with finishing your jumper, and I look forward to what you have planned for us.
Your knitting podcast is one of the more relaxing ones and is also very realistic and relatable. (Meaning you don't say things like, oh double pointed needles are so easy I use them to knit lace in the round while also bathing my cat!). Also, I am homesick so it's nice to hear a Scottish voice.
Another enjoyable few minutes spent with you and the feeling of friendship that your podcast exudes. Many good wishes towards a beneficial outcome of the uncertainty that you and your family are facing. Such a testament to the belief we often don’t have control as to what happens to us but definitely can face our challenges with calm and resolve that helps us find our way to the solution. Good luck on finishing your daughter’s jumper. I’m working on my own birthday sweater and keep reminding myself that no getting around it, knitting takes a lot of time. But time well spent. Shirley Beard ❤
Thank you for your podcast. I"m Scottish by heritage, so your podcast feels a bit like being with family while I relax and knit along. I agree about using DPNs. Every time I use them I think of an angry porcupine. 😆 I only use them when there is no alternative.
Thank you for your company Andrew. I love sitting and knitting and listening to you chatting - it’s so relaxing. Good luck on sleeve island - you’ve made great progress & I’m looking forward to seeing the finished jumper 😊
Happy Easter to you and your family. May you enjoy a restful time off. Your podcasts are so special. Refreshing to here your positive thoughts and I am sending well wishes for your upcoming housing change. All the best. Looking forward to seeing your finished project. ❤🌷🌷🐣🐰💐
I live on the West Coast of New Zealand. I think I live in the most perfect place on earth. Your walks have actually made me question this, I have to visit Arran now, what you have shown us all gives The West Coast a run for its money!
Dear Andrew - that was a lovely calming break for your viewers 😊 I sincerely hope that your housing situation sorts itself out- we have a very similar thing happening here in Tasmania too! I’m really looking forward to you introducing us to more local artisans - especially the kiltmaker!
Best wishes for a happy Easter to you and your family from a subscriber at the opposite end of the world. It’s Holy Thursday here, so I’ll be doing the usual Catholic things this evening and the rest of the weekend.
Hi Andrew, I really enjoy all your podcasts, as well as the mini scenes of your island. I pray you find a perfect new accomodation for you and your family. I'm from the middle of NB , Canada, finishing a blanket for a newly married couple expecting their first baby girl, and a shawl in the spike trellis stitch (on youtube). I'll be praying for you. Happy Easter and God Bless.
Having lived in a seasonal tourist area, I fully understand the thought of having your special place to yourself in the off season. One of the jokes in our community was the hope during the tourist season would have us shaking every visitor upside down for the coins in their pockets to help sustain us during the off season. 🙂
Your podcast is so Hopefilled and peaceful. Thank you. I live in the US. In the Pacific N.W. they are trying to close and merge many of our Catholic churches due to a decreasing number of church goers also. It is very upsetting. I will definately keep you in my prayers. Please keep us in yours ❤😊 Have a Happy and blessed Easter
A welcome morning to be with you before I have to go to work. Bleurgh! I'm finishing up the bunnies I made for the kids at church...just the tails to do. I'm going to hide them along with their eggs to find after services on Sunday. Once they're done, I'm going to get a few long terms projects off my lap and work on my kep and perhaps take a look at Gansey's patterns. I'll send some prayers upward that your housing situation resolves and you'll be able to remain on the island. My own diocese is studying a merger with a larger one which I'm not to keen on. I understand that reasons behind it, but even within our own diocese, we smaller churches at the fringe tend to be 'forgotten' and most activities happen at the diocesan center, often a 2-3 hour drive away. I worry how much more we will be forlorn if we merge with a large city diocese. I must trust in Him to lead us ! A blessed Easter to your parish and your family, and God grant you a blessed retreat with your family afterward.
I don't know how we all found you but my knitting group in Masterton New Zealand have all subscribed and chatting about favorite podcasts your name came up tops.
My high-tech method of row counting is to get some matches or toothpicks or the like and move one at the end of each row from the "start" pile to the "end" pile, and then, when I've got to where I need to do whatever it is, I do it & I sweep the counters back to the "start" pile. If you had a couple of pieces of foam rubber you could put pins on one of them & then shift the pins to the other. When I was a child my mother used to have a little counter that went on the non-business end of a needle (using a pair of straight needles, that is) but she wasn't really a big fan of it and I ended up playing with it. I have a feeling I killed it when I tried to vivisect it.
I live in Niagara Falls USA, so understand perfectly when you are describing increased activity where you live. There are blessings and curses to living in a tourist location. 😊 My church I belonged to for about 50 years recently closed due to declining membership and all the repercussions from that. I now watche services that a group of pastors lead that is broadcast on Sundays & while I'm thankful, the in person experience is so much better. I'll add you and your family's house hunting need to my prayers. Enjoy your after Easter respite & thank you for sharing yourself, your family & your faith with all of us.
Andrew you are a joy to listen to. I love to hear about your family and your day to day life. I live in Colorado in the US in the mountains. We have had a hard winter and to be honest I have a bit of cabin fever. To have your podcasts to distract me has helped immensely. I have never knit and crocheted as much as I have this year….just to maintain any level of sanity.
Hi Andrew, thank you for another great Podcast, I have just joined your happy band, hoping in a small way it will be of some help. Housing is such a big problem the world over, the homeless list just gets longer and longer here in Australia. My daughter and her family have the same problem and life can be so difficult when you don’t know where you are going to live, I bought my daughter caravan as they could not get anywhere to live as they are 1200 k’s away from me in South Australia, as a disabled pensioner they had no hope of getting a rental property and government housing lists are horrendous. Anyhoo I have to say they are extremely happy now and can live anywhere they want too. Hopefully eventually they will find something more permanent. Take care and hope all goes well for you and your family 🤩
Andrew! Such relevant social changes you describe that have direct consequences on the life of families... having to think where to move... what to do... the nostalgia of seeing the end of an era... and at the same time I keep knitting while you speak and knit, absolutely enjoyable.
Everything changes - we have to go with the flow. Thankfully my own church is enjoying some growth and things are stable for us there...just some housing to find!
Thank you for a lovely podcast! I sit and knit socks with you. Great job on your daughter's jumper. What a terrible situation with having to move in the future. I hope you find a place to live on the island. Have a wonderful Easter. Take care.
The tubular bind off requires a bit of determination to learn, but it is well worth it for the "professional" look it gives to our hand knits. Enjoy your holiday! I understand how busy life is this time of year. Sadly, there is a lot of consolidation of parishes around here (northeast USA) as well.
Happy Easter to you and your family, Andrew! I am also sending you lots of good energy so that your housing situation turns into a good opportunity. Thanks for this "extra stitch"!
My husband and I are traveling to your beautiful country this Saturday and followed by Ireland. We will not be near you but start in Edinburgh, Isle of Skye, castles, a famous loch and other sites. I will wave! Any k it shops you might know of would be appreciated. Thanks for a lovely podcast !
I am knitting a sweater in plettulopi. This is my first time knitting with it it and I ordered it from the Icelandic store. It smells so deliciously of sheep (clean sheep). And because you need to be very mindful as you slowly pull it off the plate, it helps me to be a mindful knitter!
You are so interesting, and lovely to listen to. 😊 Best to you and your family as you navigate the coming changes in your lives. Enjoy your mini-vacation, and I hope that your daughter really enjoys her time at camp!
You inspired me to pick up one of my knitting projects I started last year. I learnt how to crochet last year so I've been on a bit of a crochet bender, so I've picked up the scarfe I'm knitting and hopefully I can finish it over today and tomorrow. Best of luck with the house hunt, I hope you find something magical.
Thank you for your lovely relaxed podcast. I hope you manage, with God's help, to find a new home soon and that it does not cause much disruption for your family. Have a blessed Easter worshipping the risen Christ.
I thoroughly enjoy knitting along with you with your peaceful demeanor, your gentle words, and the newsy bits. Your accent is charming and soothing! Happy Easter to you and your family! 🌷✝️ PS-keep talking up your island and your tourist issues may double! You’re making me want to make the trip, for sure! ☺️
Thanks for a relaxing chat. Sorry to hear about the house prices' challenge. Hope God opens the door (literally) to something new. I'm knitting on the first sleeve of Adventurous by Joji Locatelli. Oh, and then I crocheted some more on an amigurumi turtle for my older daughter. Happy knitting and here's to not getting stuck on "sleeve island".
You’re on “sleeve island”, I use small circulars when I knit the arms of sweaters. They’re so much easier, just go round and round. Have a fantastic little getaway, Happy Easter to you and your family ❤
Here's to a blessed Resurrection Sunday to you and your family! I am including you in my prayers for a miraculous answer to your housing needs. It is so sad that many churches have seen a huge decline in attendance. (Ours as well) Your daughter's sweater is coming along nicely. Enjoy your family vacation. And I'll see you the next time.
Hello Andrew. When you are thinking about hat patterns, you might want to look at the 1898 hat. It's a free pattern on ravelry from the Seaman's Church Institute. With a doubled brim and shaped ears it's especially warm. It suits our Canadian climate! Following you has introduced me to your Sannox Saturday which I very much appreciate. Blessings....
Greetings from Alaska. I am enjoying your laid back channel and love the history and videos of that beautiful place. I am knitting Sox and hats as well, keeping the fingers busy. We are still waiting for Spring here. Happy Easter.
Over the winter, I knitted hats, headbands & such for the local thrift store that supports the battered women's shelter. Now I'm working on a pot holder to go with the one I made last year. For me, simple knitscare meditative & calming. We too live in a tourist destination &in 4 years, our house has doubled in value. It's at a point where people like you are renting space from homeowners & buying used RVs. One house has tiny caravans as a short term rental solution for visitors here on holiday. I have NO idea where waiters, cooks, cleaners& such can afford to live!😢
Thoroughly enjoy your channel, all the content. As someone who made most of her own clothes in years past, I would love to see a kilt being made. Prayers for you and your family as you face the challenges before you.
Thanks for another cozy knit and chat. You asked what we’re working on? During today’s chat it was ‘The Shawl with No Name’ by Carroll David-Johnson. This is a 3-color shawl pattern with some slip stitch bits, is very easy but fun to knit and it’s free on Ravelry! I must say, all of the upcoming podcasts sound really interesting and I look forward to all of them! I’m so sorry to hear about the situation on Arran and hope and pray it is one of those blessings in disguise that works out beautifully for all🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. Happy Easter to you and yours ❤️☮️.
Will look it up! We were not unaware of the potential challenge with the house, and it has been great to be here to at least get settled and begin to work out other options. We have great support networks here all trying to help us find solutions :)
I love the Knit and chats. Also, I will pray every day until you and the Mrs. have the resolution for your next assignment which includes housing. All will be well brother.❤
Sending many prayers, I understand the living here on Hatteras Island is the same. So hard unless you own or a local. Enjoy your RUclips and bought the patterns. Enjoy all you do, I love all you do. Bless you and your family.
I`m so happy that I found your channel. To see you knitting and and talking in a very relaxing way makes me smile.I also enjoy your walks and talks about historic places and things around you. Greetings from Sweden.

Always interesting, Andrew...you are a resourceful man to gather said crafters to interview, something I would thoroughly enjoy, hearing other Islanders' stories...Happy Blessed Easter and enjoy your own personal holiday with your wife!
Praying for God’s continued guidance & blessings! May you and your family be lead at just the right time to just the right place. 🙏
Thanks for your podcast! Lent and Holy Week are definitely busy times, and call for calming knitting. God bless you and your knits.

I'm in my 60's and started learning to knit in October 2022. I also learned to swim in that month.
Never too late!

Praying 🙏 that you find a new home to enable you to keep up your wonderful work on the island and across the globe. I enjoy knitting and crocheting listening to you. Thank you 😊
Lovely to sit and knit with you. I so understand what you said about the endless ribbing. Whenever I start measuring, the project stops growing. 😊
Thank you for sharing some knitting time with me this morning! So enjoy listening to your stories!
Thank you once again for a relaxing and inspiring podcast that reflects real life!
I do hope you manage to stay on the Island and find a home for you and your family and can continue God’s work ❤
I’m glad there is someone like me who still uses a paper and pen to count rows lol 😂xxx
Your demeanor is so sweet. Love listening to you. Sending you wishes for a blessed Easter from the US (Wisconsin).

I really enjoyed spending time with you, Andrew. Enjoy your holiday, good luck with finishing your jumper, and I look forward to what you have planned for us.
Happy rest filled holiday to you and your family. Thank you for sharing the Good News of Easter. Loved the extra stitches knit and chat.
Love the knitting chats.
🤣. Yeah, I do Italian bind offs whilst making home-made pasta whilst singing Verdi arias on my treadmill lol

Another lovely vlog . Will send a prayer winging upwards for a solution to your housing dilemma.
Wishing you well finding a beautiful home 🙏🏼
A very blessed Easter to you and your family. Enjoy your well deserved break. God bless.
Getting close - but Daughter-Face has just gone to see her love and I have no arms present to adequately measure said sleeves lol
I'll put the kettle on Anne ;) 🏴
Lovely to listen to you whilst I'm knitting. Happy Easter to you and your family
Having lived in a seasonal tourist area, I fully understand the thought of having your special place to yourself in the off season. One of the jokes in our community was the hope during the tourist season would have us shaking every visitor upside down for the coins in their pockets to help sustain us during the off season. 🙂
Yep, many of our businesses (cafes in particular) wouldn't survive operating through the winter.
God bless you and your family.
I don't know how we all found you but my knitting group in Masterton New Zealand have all subscribed and chatting about favorite podcasts your name came up tops.
Hello Kiwis!
Knitting rules for keeping sanity! I've knit a lot today!
As long as I've somewhere to knit, sleep and eat I'm happy lol
Happy Easter to you and your family. Best wishes for a relaxing break next week.
Thank you for your podcast. I love knitting and having your company as I work on my projects.
I have shared your channel in many of my Facebook groups.
Kind of you :)
The kettle will be on!
Thank you for another enjoyable pod cast. Will definitely keep you and your family in my prayers . Happy Easter. Stay safe and take care. 😊
Happy Easter and thanks for a very enjoyable “chat”
You’re on “sleeve island”, I use small circulars when I knit the arms of sweaters. They’re so much easier, just go round and round. Have a fantastic little getaway, Happy Easter to you and your family ❤
Here's to a blessed Resurrection Sunday to you and your family! I am including you in my prayers for a miraculous answer to your housing needs. It is so sad that many churches have seen a huge decline in attendance. (Ours as well) Your daughter's sweater is coming along nicely. Enjoy your family vacation. And I'll see you the next time.
My own church is enjoying some growth for which we're thankful. And sometimes you have to prune a plant to allow fresh growth to come.
A blessed Easter to you Andrew and your family. I pray your housing situation will be sorted out soon. God will provide.
Happy Easter 🐣🙏🏻🧶
Greetings from Alaska. I am enjoying your laid back channel and love the history and videos of that beautiful place. I am knitting Sox and hats as well, keeping the fingers busy. We are still waiting for Spring here. Happy Easter.
A happy Easter Andrew and enjoy your down time and a chance to recharge.
It is good to make things for your kids.
Not an easy week for a pastor, but hopefully a joyous one! A blessed Easter to you and your family!
It's not as busy here as it has been in some places I've lived, but it's been a busy few months so not exactly coming into it fresh lol
Thanks - we hope and plan to stay ok the island - just need a more permanent/secure housing arrangement :)
What a peaceful enjoyable time spent with you on your utube channel. I am watching you from Michigan in the U. S.
I'm working on a Amigurumi dinosaur for my niece. And a lace sweater for my 18year old granddaughter.
Amigurumi is in my plans!
❤❤❤
Sending many prayers, I understand the living here on Hatteras Island is the same. So hard unless you own or a local. Enjoy your RUclips and bought the patterns. Enjoy all you do, I love all you do. Bless you and your family.
This kilt making interview sounds interesting
She was a wee bit timid about the idea, but hoping I can encourage her :)
