1. I think season 2 might possibly be more Kong focused after looking at the ending.
2. This show was more about the lore and story behind the creation of Monarch, rather then just Godzilla. I feel like the show had a perfect balance between the humans and showing different Kaiju.

This show didn't even meet my expectations if I'm being honest, all throughout the episodes, I've just witnessed 3 people talking nonsense to each other about finding their dad and Godzilla's screentime is so fricking short.

I honestly didnt think id hear the word "Dad" this much in a 2 minute video. You'd think giant monsters werent involved at all with the amount of daddy issues going on here
I haven’t seen the show but seeing the plot of it through the video , just doesn’t feel like a Godzilla tv series
Godzilla has little screen time in like less than 2 minutes in most episodes and episode 5 is the worst coz the lesbian relationship is so Cringy AF and Godzilla flashback only lasts for like a few seconds.

Doc Serizawa & the Russles already fucked up enough as Parents, Titans already fucked Joe up as a Father/GrandFather, we get it already, don't have a Spouse or Kids if you work for Monarch, they can stop beating us over the head with it.
What was the Dad even doing besides giving Monarch the middle finger? Woulda made sense if he was just using that Bait thing to lure Titans away from populated areas so they can just fall dormant from exhaustion, could have explained how Godzilla wound up there.

I would have liked the show way better if the 1950s characters were the main characters and the present day characters were nothing but just the side characters
I was right for not “watching watching” it
Those characters were interesting for like the first 5 episodes but after that they were just annoying npc’s and it was pissing me off, I wanted more of the flashback characters, they were interesting
Honestly, had this focused exclusively on the past with the core trio establishing Monarch while dodging military interference, or current day Monarch dealing with a rogue agent and internal disputes on how the organization should be run, it would have been far more solid overall.
The core trio in the present and their drama and constant complaints and judgments towards everyone and everything (especially May and Cate) made them far less compelling and often just annoying (Kentaro being the least egregious considering how well his characterization as having much of his identity tied to his loyalty to his father and how his father’s betrayal challenges it, yet despite his flaws, he tries to do right by his mother and friends, even as the later don’t appreciate it very much).
I’m personally hoping a character like Tim becomes more of the focus, with his nerdy demeanor obscuring his determination to get the truth in direct contrast with his higher ups being far more worried about containing and concealing kaiju than actually understanding them, which leads perfectly into Godzilla: King Of The Monsters, where Godzilla being targeted by the military nearly allows Ghidorah free reign over the planet because they failed to understand Godzilla’s place in maintaining the “balance”, keeping other kaiju from spreading and destroying the environment.

Family Drama!
I will say that this family drama story wasn't that bad. But family drama in a kaiju fighting stories is just weird. Let's hope Monarch season 2 focuses on more kaiju.

"Where's dad?" "I'm finding dad." "Is dad out to get milk?" "Dad, where are you?" "Dad? DAD?!" Ugh, stupid human filler. What's even worse is that there were scenes where a couple was naked in bed. One scene was Kentaro and May in bed naked. The other scene was Cate and her girlfriend being naked in bed. I said this because it's implied that they had sex. I'm just "...what, they added these scenes in a godzilla tv show." Godzilla 2014 had sex represented, but it was just kissing, not two people naked in a fucking bed goddammit. I hope season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters actually focuses on the monsters, mainly godzilla of course.

Nothing against the actress but her character was so annoying. All she ever talks about is finding her dad. The whole time I'm like girl calm down your father's not going anywhere.
What I hate about this show is they literally Put a Chick in it and made her Gay and episode 5 was the Lamest episode and only a few seconds of Godzilla but a flashback.

I was expecting to see monarch agents actually studying the monsters and doing interesting things ACTUALLY RELATED to the title of the show. Also, they had a higher budget than GxK and only had 10 minutes of screentime vs 10 hour show. While gxk has 50 minutes of screentime. Instead of seeing cool monarch stuff and shinomura or muto prime, we just get retconned and have boring drama. And don’t even get me started on the woke shit from episode 5, I would legit pull out my phone in the middle of an episode because its so boring, and we waited 10 episodes weekly release and over 9 hours of show time, just to get a battle so short it can literally fit in the youtube shorts format💀😭
Monarch is a garbage show. Apple needs to do better
