Sporty fanatic that plans on keeping you on my to watch list. Subscribed because of your Sporty, staying because I like your content and love two wheels. I still have my first bike I purchased--2001 Sportster XLH1200 currently going through and S&S full build. Also found a 1993 low mile 883XLH with a 1200 Screaming Chicken big bore I couldn't pass up and purchased in 2020. And have a few other bikes that include Indians and a Buell...Love your stuff and looking forward to watching the progression of the Dyna👊🤘
@@ZozzerRidez I may have missed it, but did they ever find out what exactly was wrong with the sporty? Man, I would be devastated if my sporty died. I go touring on my sporty. You don't need a bagger. Bling that dyna up.
@@theorthobiker nah, my over cautious side prevailed since I ride with my passenger so often. I would have had my mechanic open the bottom end and likely need machine work (top end machining took 4+months to get back) to restore my confidence. Just a sign to upgrade lol
So found you because I had 03 anniversary sportster. Sold it 3 weeks ago and got a deal on a 05 road king. I really like the king but the sporty was fun carving up roads. Going to keep following. Love the dyna man.
I did the same exact thing, went from a sporty to my 2017 fxdls. Dyna and also doin the same thing mostly commuting and touring…. Love your channel keep doin your thing man.
Hell yea nice fxdl man! Seems like it will be a good fit for you and the lady. Sad to see the 03 bite the dust but aye shit happens.. looking forward to new vids on the Dyna for sure. Congrats !
New to your content and enjoying what I've seen. Wish we had weather like this in England 😂 I have an 883 and I'm toying with the 1250 conversion?! I'm stage one at the min. Do you think I'll notice a difference if I do convert?
The sporty had great torque coming from 883, first gear was all too easy to wheelie. It's probably comparable to my 103, the sporty was super fast. Dyna is obviously more stable and comfortable at 80 and up.
Ergonomics of a bagger are pretty different as well. Gearing is different. The way the bike handles with the extra weight is a big deal... Braking under weight acceleration under weight.. there is a reason the built the bigger bikes .. even just the way they handle the wind
I understand that's the general description, but I'm wondering what the measurable differences are. The gearing I didn't know, but other than that all I can find is that the tank sits a bit lower, the frame is different somehow, and with that the balance reaches for 50/50 front and rear. For the most part, sounds achievable with a Dyna.
@@ZozzerRidez the dyno is not as stable when it's loaded up as a bagger.. my suggestion to you is to ride both when they are loaded down. You will feel the difference. Ride them in the wind loaded. I know the dyna feels awesome coming from the Sportster but it still isn't a bagger.
@@ZozzerRidez I'm not sayijg it's gonna be garbage. It's gonna feel better then your sporty did.. but in general the dyna is a bigger Sportster. The bagger is the kind of touring for a reason.
Well I did love the sporty, lane splitting, canyons, and going fast, so sounds just right haha. I've since turned my focus (and cash) to the suspension, it'll be what makes or breaks this ride.
@@ZozzerRidez I have been on bikes my whole life ( since 5 ) up till this year. I have 5 brothers and everyone of them have a Harley and finally convinced me to get one. I have always been on GSXR’s. I bought the cheapest Harley I could find in really good condition ( 2007 883 ) so I didn’t waste money if I didn’t like it. I love it! I’m getting to old (42 ) for the GSXR’s. There will always be a place in my heart for the GSXR’s so I understand what you mean with your sporty. However after this year I am a full blown Harley lover now!
Touring bikes have larger frames and better suspension. Trying to make your Dyna ride like a touring bike and have the storage, is the same as trying to make your Sportster ride like one. Doesn’t work. I’d say you’ll ride this until she wants it and then you’ll be in a Road King

You'll be increasing the displacement by a third, you'll definitely feel it haha.
Hey man! Just installed the 1250 basic kit (70-75hp) how did your old hammer sport accelerate and handle 80mph as opposed to the dyna? Cheers

So... what happened to the sportster? Did you sell it? Trade it in? Junk it?
Traded it in for somebody else to nurse back to life haha
I recognize where you ride. if you would like to ride sometime hit me up.
I see I have a fair amount of locals coming around, we'll have to set up a ride soon!
