  • As part of my cladding series we are making the window reveal strips that will form the return into the window and door frames of the extension
We make all the reveal strips the same width and this keeps all the job looking really uniform, but this can only happen if the windows have ben fitted plumb and parallel to the from face of the structure, it is very common for windows to be fitted out of line, out of plumb and indeed out of level, I oversee all the window and door installations on my projects to make sure the standard of fitting is good

Great use of that table saw! Wish when I use a table saw on RUclips people weren't so critical having removed the blade guard as you have here, yet still demonstrating a high level of skill and safety!! Great job!!!

Hi Sam, well I did wince to myself when I watched the video back and thought of comments or remarks with regard to the blade guard, hopefully viewers can take our experience into consideration when watching us carry out our work!!
      Hope your well bro

@@ukconstruction You say experience, my mate was a qualified joiner been doing the job for over 20years, working late one evening to get a job done cutting timber on an industrial table saw pushed one bit through not thinking and cut off 3 fingers above the middle knuckle was working alone drove himself to hospital 10miles away, they reattached them at the hospital but 12 months later they had to remove them again as they did not heal

I find it faster fitting the window reveals before you put the windows in. Make the opening larger and drop them in like a door lining

Yes thats a nice way of doing it, we had a 4 metre wide opening and the reveals are super slim so we opted to place them individually. your method is one I like to use too where possible

I'm going to be cladding my extension shortly and am very interested in Thermowood. Can you tell me what species of timber you're using here please, as the boss (my Mrs) has given it the royal seal of approval? Many thanks for this series too, they're very informative 👍

Hi mate, Thermowood used here is a standard Redwood prior to modification, it really is a great material check my link in the video description if you would like a price for some from my chosen supplier?
