I'd say my Interpretation was something Like you were tired of drawing Chip, you wanted something new, you plunged into a hole of Depression trying to Run away from your past, to anything Else, but in the end, chip was what brought you Happiness, and you accepted that
Huh, I like the symbolism. From what I get from this it’s meant to be you trying to get away from the old works you did with the cat animations and essentially trying to escape the role you’ve put yourself in as “the animator that does cat animations” but despite whatever you do next this part of your career as a RUclipsr will always be a part of your history. I think the only thing that could have driven this theme home even more would have been the inclusion of your old cat avatar, but the analogy still works without it.
Pretty sure the old cat avatar was in this. I think the normal cat is just the modern version.
Or it could be that. His creation made his life stressful. But at the same time/later time got him through a hard time. (That is the shortened form of what I thought in my head.)
Oh I didn't get that at all I thought that it was how creation can be stressful but it's the characters and the conection we have to them them lifts use up but I dunno
I'm gonna miss the cat if that is true

This hits really hard because shows how much you've changed over the years as a person, but can't seem to escape what brought you here from the very beginning. You want to evolve, change, and grow into something new, but Chip won't leave you be.. And yet, when things go wrong, he's there to catch your fall.
I want to evolve and move past "Stormi" as a content creator, but they won't leave me be and are always there when I'm at my worst. This really inspired me 💙

@@dragonbird3404 it was the case until he sorta wanted to detach himself from it. RUclipsr syndrome got to him, as it does to all youtubers. Everyone becomes "the guy/girl who does X", but people who do it for multiple years at a time get tired of that. You can't do the same exact thing for your entire life, and these people just want to try something fresh, it's a shame that that requires some serious gymnastics to pull off.
Sometimes I forget how long Chip's been on this platform and how much they've gone from "that silly little storytime cat". He's developed something bigger than what I would've expected and I'm proud of just how far he's come. Younger me couldn't recognize it back then, but I see Chip now as a true lad
Funnily enough, I don't think I ever saw them as a storytime or cat drawing person on RUclips. I just saw them as A Person on RUclips. A person who wants to create things, to make things that people enjoy, to make things that they enjoy doing, and no matter what happens just hearing them talk about whatever they're passionate about still interests me because I want to like them for who they are and what they want to do. Not just what assumptions or routines or anything else dictate. Because I can tell when they talk about something they want to discuss in a video that they're happy. And I want them to be happy. And if that means making animations or something to do with Cats or Furries or lives experiences or just reaching out to socialize then I want to fully support them. That's why I subscribed to this channel. That's the only reason I've stuck around this long. I just want the person making the videos, the one behind the channel, the one making any content to be free and happy and themselves. And that's something I can admire and enjoy and subscribe to any day.
If . . . that makes any sense . . . ya know? I . . . can't really describe it but . . . yeah, it just feels right.

to me this describes losing touch w/ your work and feeling lost for ideas, resenting your old creations and feeling like it’s not real or not you, when really it was all part of your journey to get here and will continue on with you. idk if this was intended but it’s what i took away and it’s beautiful
dude this animation is so beautiful, i feel like i resonate with the disparity between the real you that grows and changes over time, vs the version of yourself that has stuck and become detached from u (the online persona / character) that perception of you can be haunting especially since it was once so connected to u and no longer is but other people still see you so connected to the character. Rly well put together video, expresses this feeling so well 🥺

This really resonates with me as an artist- I also draw the same character(s) over and over again to the point of drowning in them… becoming one with them. It can be taxing on my mental health because I can get so stuck in my inner world I withdraw from the real world. It gets the worst when I get so sucked into an art project I ignore everything and everyone around me, including myself. It’s not healthy… it’s not worth it to lose your mind over what you love… because then it’s not love anymore, it’s an obsession. I become a slave to my work and I feel so incredibly stressed, anxious, lost and lonely.
Luckily I have God and people in my life to drag me out of that pit and show me the beauty of life all over again. -Only then can I place my characters in that beauty as simple spectators, not overlords. They quietly enjoy life with me, occasionally commenting, but never overwhelming me. It’s a quiet balance, and it’s the type of art that’s worth it. The type that’s just as fun to the viewers as it is to the artist. Different eyes from yours will always see things differently of course, but that’s just the life of an artist. The best you can do is create a wonderful space for your viewers to play in.

I interpret this as feeling stuck in a certain position of being only able to animate Chip, because that's the status quo of your channel, but you want to move on to other things. Chip is the thing that pulls you down, but at the same time, is the thing that lifted you to the position you're in now, allowing you to build onto a better future

As an outside observer, I love it when animators try new things. You guys have such power to turn concepts into reality, and I love it when you share something novel, a small (or large) insight into your thoughts, or even shitposts. Those are fun. I say you shouldn't be constrained by what you want to do. You do you. If you appreciate what you're making, we'll appreciate it too.
I just love to play this in the background while I'm doing late night product creations for my online store. It's calming.
This is awesome. And hey man, I like that you’re making the content you want to instead of just making whatever people want you to make. It feels more you. You went from using the cat as a persona to then changing the cat into its own character and now you’re even drawing yourself in human form, which is awesome.
Everything you do has such a beautiful charm to it. Whether it be a silly 3 second vid of a cat or a personal piece like this one.
I think no matter which direction you go with your content or even if you take a break altogether, you'll always have the love and support of those who have been impacted by your work in some meaningful way whether it be a quick laugh or a deep emotional connection.

This is both beautiful... and incredibly worrying. If you need to let go of Chipflake for your own progression and development, don't be afraid to do so. It really seems like you're trying to escape that history in the video, and it worries me.
Do what you like to do. Those who matter will follow. If you really don't like animating cats anymore, or don't want to continue with a character of the past... it's your life. Don't feel beholden to old ideas because you feel the sunk cost fallacy. Love you, dude, be careful and be good to yourself.

This hits me hard actually. Really appreciate the effort in putting your true personal work out here, it also connects people who struggle to express themselves through rough situations. I relate to the fact how depression affects me my daily life, but can still find redemption from the little things that we may not exactly find cherishable to us. The other comments have more in-depth writing on the message takeaway (how dealing with the pressure from generating new ideas, especially burning through the RUclips algorithm), yet I still wanted to share my message of accepting the little things. Given that, and change doesn't have to be scary if you take adaptability head-on with no ideal purpose. We are in this together, as a community. Thank you all for reading

I interpret this as pressure to do more of the same stuff without change and creative freedom, the pressure for quality that eventually leads to burnout but also how this silly cat dragged you out of.. something negative? Maybe pushing you to new hights of confidence? I love that there is so much room for interpretation (maybe you'll explain in your 2 million sub reaction steam haha) Really like this!

My interpretation of it is that you started feeling overwhelmed and wanted to run away from what you started, then you fall into a deep hole of emotion and animating is like therapy and it helps you out of that emotional hole. ❤

wanting to be yourself and escape an old mask is hard but understanding it helped you and saved you and helped you get famous is understanding that getting rid of it might not be the best choice
This was a very wonderful animation! It was very smooth, and I liked the detail of the man running away on the top of frames
To me this feels like wanting to to break free from the old, and at first the breaking away is harsh because it feels like the past haunts you. But then, once you accept that the past is a part of you, it lifts you up instead of weighing you down, allowing you to move on and start something new

I always really liked watching your old stuff, I remember watching your story times with my friend and she made me a custom chip LPs that I still have. But I’m gonna be honest, we never really watched it to see a cute cat talk about seeing ghosts or being afraid of wasps or whatever, I watched it because I enjoyed your work. I think most of your true fans do, so don’t feel pressured to create something just because you used to, make whatever you feel like you need to make, and that will always be your best work!
I think its a representation of accepting that the past will be different from the future and being unapologetic about it. It was good that cats were your thing, and it's hard to say goodbye, but it's also OK to go into the future doing something different. Great story! ❤
Part of me will miss where the artist and his channel started from, but I'm equally, if not more excited to see where he grows from here.

We change over time as we get older. We try to move past old ideas and tell ourselves to “grow up” and be more mature. We keep running away from our old creations due to the fear of what others might think about them. No matter what you think of what you have created, it will always be there for you. It’s your creation, you put your heart and soul into it, it can’t just simply go away. Even though we may not last forever, our ideas and creations are permanent. It means something to you and to others. This makes us who we are.
Escape the cat, embrace art.

The cat isn’t judging but the human thinks it’s judging because it’s what is the most famous drawing when that’s something that other humans put onto it.
It seems like this is the first time we've seen a representation of *you* as a human. Not Chip, not your fursona, but you.

huahh, things really are changing!! it kind of feels like the song Gentenkaihi (meaning origin avoidance), just running from the past, wishing to be known as someone outside of this persona (or fursona), moving on, looking towards the future (for those that don't know, uhm Gentenkaihi is a song by KPP (you know PONPONPON lady?? yeah her) made to celebrate her 10th anniversary as a musical artist. so you know how like artists, when they reach their 10th anniversary creating, they try to go back to their roots, to what really drew them into creating? here, instead of going back, Kyary goes forward and celebrates moving on from what made her iconic. to be fair it does sound like something she would've made around 2015, think like Sai & Co or Kimino Mikata era)
I feel it is about acknowledging past creations but also how hard it can be to move on from them especially when they are the ones that brought the creator great success

This is beautiful, Chip. And while I know it’s not quite the same, I know how it feels to be forced into a specific identity even when you’re the one who put yourself there. I’m genderfluid, often transitioning between male and a few varying flavors of nonbinary, and it translates into my art. But at home I am constantly told that I am a girl, and that I am being ridiculous and should “make up my mind if I’m gonna be trans”…my mom interprets genderfluidity and bisexuality as just some kind of stupid lie you tell yourself, so I end up questioning if I am actually lying to myself or not, even though I know damn well that I simply don’t adhere to the binary.
Definitely not the same kind of ordeal, but still something I can relate to in a strange way.
What I got from this story waaaaas

I love how he just continues drawing like nothing happened that’s my favorite part
I feel like a lot of our lives are centered around trying to move on from our past. There's a lot in your past you want to leave behind, but it always seems to show up no matter how hard you try to run away from it. And the more you try to run away from it, the more it shows up, and the more you feel bothered by it, because it feels like you can't let go of this thing you want to let go of so badly. But sometimes in our pursuit for moving on from the past, we start to forget just how important our past is for shaping who we are today. Sure there's some bad stuff back there, but there's a lotta good stuff too, and ultimately, everything that happened has brought you to where you are now, good and bad. We often forget that. It's important to know where you come from. Thats how you learn and grow. Change doesn't mean the past was bad, it just means things are different now, and thats neither good nor bad.

It's alright to be anxious or afraid. The community you've created will always support you.
His drawings catch him as he's falling. He swipes his persona away twice only for it to carry him out of this dream.
I believe, since the title is change, that you don't want this work to become all of you, that you wish to be in some way bigger than what others may perceive you as. We are all universes of emotions and thoughts, it can be frustrating when we seem to stagnate and never really change from a certain core idea or job.
Your persona lifts you, because even though you may feel this way, what you have built up to this day still carries value, and that can help you transition from one part of your life to the next. Changing is not erasing the past, it is growing from it.
