Bro Half Life 2 really deserves a remake for its 20 years anniversary. This concept is too good to be limited technologically. Imagine how threatening could Combine be if it was shown just like in these edits. And the best thing is that we even got a glimpse of that in Half Life Alyx. VALVE WE ARE BEGGING YOU.
I've always felt the Combines were a reckless, unstoppable force no one could dream to defeat, only become part of it. This edit boosts that vibe to 11. *Then some orange guy with a crowbar appears and beat the living hell out of 'em🗿*

In the (scrapped) ending of hl2 Gordon freeman was stuck on the borealis going straight at the combine overworld when the vortiguants teleport him out
Well Gordon is a human too, and also remember the world's armies were already fighting off invasive creatures from zen and it was not going well. So it's not like we were in top top shape
