We Swifties could never hate anyone giving Taylor a chance... and boy the rabbit hole goes deep so idk if you want a book from me rn but more Taylor reactions!
Haha I don't need a book but I think yall are very expressive, detailed, and helpful so I actually believe I have some good songs to start with next and will try to get right on listening. :) I'm ready!
Shoot me now, ‘cos I TOLD YOU SO! 🤣🤣 she's talented, she writes her own songs, music, directs her music videos (and a short film), she treats all her employees, whether truckers or musicians, backing vocalists or dancers, really, REALLY well and is a decent human being! So glad you gave it a listen & enjoyed it. (Doing a little dance, lol) Love from Annie, in Cornwall, UK🙂🌸
I think you could like Lavender Haze, My Tears Ricochet, or Exile. She has a lot of really great songs and you can absolutely enjoy them without getting every reference! She has an absurd amount of released work, there is absolutely no pressure to like every song
Josh Charles and Ethan Hawk who are the actors in the video were in a film together called “The Dead Poets Society” so she did that as a nod to the album name “The Tortured Poets Department” some of my favorite songs are “LOML” “So Long London” “My Tears Ricochet” and “Exile” featuring Bon Iver. I was always a casual fan until she came out with her 2 pandemic albums then I was hooked. Those 2 albums and the newest album I think are her best lyrically
Down Bad, My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, Black Dog, and imgonnagetyouback are some songs off the same album (TTPD) as FortNight that are really good and similar vibe.
The second you started laughing at the end, I just knew you were having a slight existential crisis at liking it 😂😂… I was like “I know that laugh” hahahaha
her live performances are amazing I recommend doing some reputation tour songs intro +ready fot it. i did somehting bad, etc. there's also Era Tour versions of some of them like Look What You Made Me Do. but the attitude in the reputation tour was immaculate. also would love to see you react to the Era's Tour version of Vigilantr Sh*t performance. DON'T react to thst song without watching the live performance, TRUST me.
good morning. i am sixty four year old gay white gay guy who has worshipped at the alter of Paul MacCartney, the Beatles, Joni, Stevie, Michael, Sting etc. i am a big swifty now. great music on the deep dive. she can write pop as good as anyone has but its the other stuff that gets you and hitss you hard, enjoy your journey.
I'm a new Taylor fan myself and as others have said, we appreciate anyone who gives her a chance instead of blindly writing her off. I don't know what will hit for you yet but my recommendations would be: Intro + Ready For it (live on the reputation tour) - something completely different and to see her performing chops on a huge stage. My Tears Ricochet (live long ponds studio sessions) - gorgeous live vocals and one of her best written songs. There's three layers to the song; the metaphor (a ghostly woman watching her murderer at her funeral), the implied topic she's exploring (a bitter divorce) and then the subtext for us fans who know her professional struggles. Lavender Haze (Music Video) - Honestly just a banger with another great MV directed by Taylor. I'm assuming you've heard AntiHero because everyone and their dog has but the video is fantastic too. No-one expects you to like everything she does but she has such a broad catalogue that there's something for everyone there.
@@scarletwoodland5210 My Tears Ricochet is actually about her former record label, Big Machine Records and specifically Scott Borcetta. He signed Taylor as a young teenager. Her very first label. Taylor literally grew up with him being like a second fatherly figure. She trusted him explicitly. Scott sold all of her masters to Scooter Braun, who is a talent manager. He sold her out in other words and never gave her the chance to purchase her own masters. Scooter therefore, began receiving all of her royalties from her very first record, all the way to the “Lover” album. Taylor, for anyone who is unaware, either wrote or co-wrote every single original song she sings. This song, while it can be viewed as a love gone wrong, it’s not a romantic betrayal, but is just as damaging to her. Always listen and react to “Taylor’s Version” as much as possible, because that is how SHE gets the profit from her original work and not Scott or Scooter. She had to go in and re-record her albums again. The parts where she sings about going with grace was something she couldn’t do because he did so much damage to her. By her turning the tables back on Scott and Scooter, they aren’t making money off her anymore. Scott especially this applies to as the tears she shed from this horrible betrayal of someone she loved so much, has now become his tears, as she takes back each album from him and he burned the bridge by himself.
Taylor directed this video and many of her other videos. Taylor is also a producer and plays four instruments that I know of. Taylor has merged into many different sounds. I love her pop music but I really love her folk songs. If you want to hear a rock version watch her live performance of we are never getting back together from the 1989 tour. It’s redone as more rock than pop and it’s awesome!
I really like this song. They sound good together. I am not a swifty so I don’t love every single thing she does, but she has quite a few songs that I appreciate. She is talented, no doubt. And her lyrics are always thoughtful and deep. ❤ and now she passed your goosebumps test, so she is in❤❤
I AM a Swiftie and I don’t like every single thing she does. There are those of us with critical thinking and listening skills who know she makes some cheesy or dumb choices sometimes.
I don't know what your personal music taste is but my favorite songs are as follows: Right Where You Left Me False God Carolina Glitch Renegade Death by a Thousand Cuts these are all pretty different from each other. Midnights is my favorite era. 💙
From her album, The Tortured Poets Department The Anthology, comes The Black Dog. It gives me a similar vibe to Fortnite. It's a lyric video, so easy to listen to without having to concentrate on discerning the lyrics rather than just allowing the flow of the song build the foundation for them. That sentence made sense in my head, but not sure if it translates to "paper". 😂
Exile is another collaboration that you would like of Taylor's. There's something for everyone. Personally, I'm a fan of her Reputation album. She also has some deep shit, like Folklore (the Pond Sessions) are BADASS.
Well that made my day, I really appreciate it. Most of the fun for me in doing this, along with discovering new music, is talking to yall about it. So I appreciate that. I'm a professional yapper, as they say lol. And ah...well now I'm flattered too lol.
Passed the goosebump test! Taylor and Posty sound so good together. Lmaooo you told your friend “Taylor who?” 😂 would love to see more reactions from Taylor’s latest album (TTPD). I don’t know why but I think you’d like Florida!!! feat Florence + The Machine, it’s on the latest album too.
I am so so glad you like this song and believe me this is only the beginning! Coming off the back of your last Taylor video, this is absolutely refreshing because I could really see you trying to engage with this, and I can't tell you how much I personally appreciate that. I know it may seem ridiculous but Taylor has helped me in so many ways so when someone else starts down that rabbit hole it makes me super happy! Welcome to the club and I can't wait to see what else you have to say about Taylor (whether it be positive or negative)! ❤❤
Give So Long London a try.... Im a Renegade, so not a natural Swift fan. The tortured poets album is just stunning throughout, the whole electro synth vibe is 🔥. This song lured me in and im hooked.
I think a lot of us didn't give her a chance because she was just that pop girl on the radio for so long. I even liked her big hits that were played often, just not enough to delve deeper. There is something about this one that fully captured me though, and like you I hope there are more like it. I am definitely not a Swiftie, but I've found a new respect for her and am willing to give any song of hers a shot.
Im loving your introspective reactions so far. Youre very good at explaining exactly what you mean. Based on your tastes so far, there is so much taylor you will appreciated. Especially from folklore and ttpd. I could see you liking so long london, down bad, black dog, immagetyouback (from her new stuff.) And just about anything from folklore
I am a huge Swiftie but there are some songs even I hate. No one has to like all of her songs or any of her songs. However, it does make me happy seeing people who aren't into her finding at least one song they enjoy. My favs/recommendations would be Getaway Car, Right Where You Left Me, The Black Dog, and Death By A Thousand Cuts
I see a lot of good suggestions for reactions in the comments already, so I’ll just say that I enjoyed watching your reaction. It’s always fun to see someone discovering an artist they didn’t think they would like. I think a lot of people don’t realize that TS isn’t a 22 year old singing pop music anymore. (Although I love her pop, too, and most of it is deeper than it seems.) She’s all grown up now and she has honed her skills to a knife’s edge. I’d LOVE to see her collaborate with Ren because they’re two of the most multifaceted and intentional artists out there today.
I can't even imagine what a Ren/Taylor collab would look like, but not opposed to it at all. :) And thank you for giving me the grace to embrace her and leave the comment, much love.
Taylor is a force. She is so talented, both lyrically and musically. Just don't cross her as she will wreck you in a song, over and over and over again.
Hadn't heard this song before now. That's a nice song. Pleasant to listen to. Simple lyrics with some depth to them. Cool video with some captivating visuals. 8/10. Won't put it on any of my playlists but will enjoy it if I hear it
Seeing how much you liked fortnight, I think you’ll really enjoy Maroon imgonnagetyouback Glitch Clean Getaway Car Lavender Haze These song are all “slower” tempo synth pop tracks with a similar tone
Great reaction, welcome to the Swiftiehood. Cornelia St live is a good one, Dear John was my surprise song last year, that’s always a winner 😂 you missed Post not having his tattoos in the one scene! Have a great day!
My tears ricochet Lavender Haze Exile False God I Hate it Here The Prophecy Down Bad Who's Afraid of Little Old Me Ready for it I did something bad I could go on forever honestly
I def think My Tears Ricochet is a good one, I was trying to think what maybe has the same feel. Not the best at judging that type of thing. I hate it Here is the song he refers to that he didn’t like that he’s listened to already.
I really enjoyed your reaction, I can't wait for the next one! I like your interpretations of Fortnight, I think it's kinda the message of the song. There are plenty of Taylor' song that I think you will like and I don't know your taste in music, but if I can advice you a song it would be "Maroon" from her album Midnights. It's one of my favorite so I think the song is great but you might not like it and it's okay lol. "Fresh out the slammer" from The totured poets department is also really good (for me) if you wanna continue your journey through TTPD
I 100% plan on continuing this journey and yall have been really cool about giving me suggestions and being open to my feedback. Pretty cool fandom, I must say I'm changing my tune. Hope you'll stick around for the journey.
Songs with these vibes.... on TTPD you might like "Down Bad" and "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys." On Midnights try "Vigilante Sh*t" "Midnight Rain" and "Lavendar Haze." On Reputation try "Delicate" "Dress" and "End Game." Absolutely check out "False God." There's more upbeat hype stuff (Like "Ready for It?") that I'd also rec but if you're just looking for things to match what you heard from "Fortnight" check out some of the above. Also, different vibes, but I must mention two of my personal favorites from a songwriting perspective are "Champagne Problems" and "Exile".
You might enjoy reacting to her song Exile, with Bon Iver. Their blend of voices is also fantastic. Taylor is different than you think she was because .... Eras. Glad to welcome you into Swiftiehood! I subbed bc of your very perceptive reaction and the hope you'll do more Swift stuff. Perhaps the Cardigan video too. And My Tears Richochet, the Long Pond Sessions. Oh, and for a ridiculous banger, Florida.
Similar song suggestions..hmmm.. Lavender Haze, Guilty as Sin, False God. The beauty of Taylor's music is her discography has range. I'm a fan!! Love her work, but there are skips. Not many but some I never listen to and some I have to be in the right mood.
Lavender Haze MV has a cool vibe. Also, there is a song called Vigilante Sh!t from the Eras Tour film, eyes on from the start, especially anything Taylor. The Bad Blood MV with Kendric Lamar, and End Game with Ed Sheeran and Future.
Love this reaction! I don't love every one of her songs either, but I'd recommend for you: Delicate, Antihero, Lavender Haze, and maybe Exile, long pond studio sessions, since you asked for the ethereal. Maybe Cardigan and Willow, but those two a bit more folksy but well done.
she has a lot of amazing videos and she's been writing and directing a lot of them for a while now since The Man from Lover. They're all so different but gorgeous and engaging.
Recommendations: False God live from SNL, My Tears Ricochet live from her Eras Tour, & Exile from Long Pond Studio Sessions. I also HIGHLY Recommend you watch live performances from her Reputation Tour, specifically Don't Blame Me, if you haven't already. She'll take you to church.
Based on you liking this, I’d say you’re a fan of her duetting! I also like the song The Last Time that she duets as well. I also think you’d like All Too Well but you should listen first to the 10 minute version then watch the short film. It’s my favorite and I think you’d like it
Why would we come after you😂 Not everyone has to like her, just give her chance and if you still don't like her then it's alright. That's what most swifties want.
@@kamilex5the most annoying thing is, “they all sound the same” - which couldn’t be further from the truth. That just makes me think you’ve never even given her a shot and allowed your own preconceived bias to dictate. But, def agree that no one thinks that EVERYONE has to like her. That would be silly. I never disliked her, but I hadn’t ever delved into her music, just enjoyed what I heard when I heard it. That changed through watching reaction channels and most specifically Easter egg videos breaking down “Look What You Made Me Do” - I was impressed with how her brain works and became a fan then.
To be fair, we don't know that, it's just something an "expert" guessed but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. There's no doubt she's extremely intelligent.
@@scarletwoodland5210 thank you. I didn’t think of that aspect. I try hard not to believe everything I see on social media. But Taylor Swift is an inspiration to women of all ages. I just became a Swifty about two years ago. I was 63 and decided to see what everyone was raving about. I think we all need some positive energy and she provides it very well.💖
@@susanmeyer9756 Yeah I checked out the source when I heard it because I figured Taylor would never release that information, so maybe one of her parents had said it? Nope, just an estimation based on her creativity and business accumen. She's an absolute class act and excellent human being. ETA: My brother has a genius IQ (178 if I recall) so when I say I'd believe it of Taylor, it's not just hot air lol.
i would try "My BOy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys" its a bit more upbeat with a big chorus but its really good and the chorus goes crazy. its more simple but I wonder what you think of it
“Exile with Bon Iver” “Epiphany”, “My Tears Ricochet” all from “The Long Pond Studio Sessions” are far superior than the studio versions, imo. “The Prophecy” from TTPD is so underrated but is an extremely vulnerable song from Taylor to us. I love that you’re discovering Taylor’s music!! She’s so versatile and has something for everyone. I’d suggest that you try Exile next. 🎙️🤗 One thing about this video that I’d share (I have lots, but I cut it WAY down for you). LOL. •Ethan Hawk and Josh Charles, both are famous actors who starred in “The Dead Poets Society (came out in 1989/also Taylor’s birth year and one of her album titles)” are her two doctors, along with Post Malone, who were doing research and ECT on her, but he ends up stopping the abusive cycle after he reads the lines on the brain waves that look like an EKG reading that they showed for a split second which were actually the lyrics for this song “I love you. It’s ruining my life” over and over. The Machine has the words “The Master” on it, referring to her master records torturing her by what Scooter and Scott did to her by stealing the Master Copies to her discography and didn’t tell her that the sale was even happening. There’s so much more but I’m sure others will fill you in. So happy to have you here. New sub!! 🙋🏼♀️🫶🏼
I always love these breakdowns haha. I learn so much, get more out of the video than I would have otherwise (even if it can take a while to read lol), and gives me new appreciation for the fans too. Thank you for that. :)
I love this reaction 🫶 I am a relatively new Swifty myself, so it’s so much fun to watch other people go down the rabbit hole. I’m here for the ride! 🫶
I hope you will welcome an old Caucasian widow who is a Swifty. I like your comments and intro delivery. It reminds me of having all my boys home again.
@@TheBlackSpeed Thank you, and you're welcome to put your feet under my table. Where I was raised that's like saying I will treat you as family.... Because, at the end of the day we are a family. Unless you don't..identify as a bipedal carbon based lifeform.... Just saying.
This one is that Posty and Taylor were stuck together in this mental institution for two weeks. They bond, fall in love, get released, then go their separate ways. Flash forward and unbeknownst to Taylor and her cheating husband, Posty and his wife move into their neighborhood. They run into each other at the mailbox. They remember their time together and love that shared, neither one stops loving the other after years apart. Posty’s wife buys Taylor and her husband flowers, hence, the I want to redrum her lyrics, because Taylor wants to be with Posty and can’t. As the song plays out, the only time the two ever talk about things is at the mailbox, both staying with respective spouses, although Taylor’s is a cheater.
Most miss the echocardiogram printout in the video, shen Posty "reads" it! Even some Swifties! It says something... take another look. 🤓 It adds to the unplugging and LOOK of them at each other. 🫶 An OG Swiftie in Boulder, CO.
I haven't gone through the comments yet but for some reason this popped up and I just watched it again. Very dope. "I love you, it's ruining my life". That's pretty cool. And surprisingly deep.
Great react. Love seeing a new swiftie emerge! If you want to stay away from the sappy stuff initially....Men usually like and blown away by....... Her live performances from Reputation tour of.... I will subscribe if more of this. 😊
I appreciate these suggestions! One thing about me, I love EVERYTHING, whether the fellas like it or not haha. I'm a weird alien that way. :) But we have more to do so be ready for it!
No shame there. My playlist had pop, rap, classic rock, soul, dance, alt, punk, Motown, and yes, Taylor Swift. A good artist is a good artist. Yesterday I went to a 21 Pilots concert and it absolutely the best I’ve ever seen! People who don’t listen to different genres are missing out!
That's me, I never box myself in by saying "I don't like *insert genre here*". That just tells me you're either close-minded, haven't found something you like, or may unfortunately be ignorant. Good music is good music, full stop. I fully agree.
I haven't, I've only done two songs by her so far. I Hate It Here (which I didn't like) and Fortnight (which I love). So we have a lot more to go! Then I'm just going to create a Taylor Swift playlist ha.
I had to go back and look to see what song you didn’t like - and I see it’s “I hate it here”…. I don’t find myself listening much to the anthology songs except So High School.

Yay! More TSwift!
definitely give Down Bad a listen 😀
Hadn't heard this song before now.
That's a nice song. Pleasant to listen to. Simple lyrics with some depth to them. Cool video with some captivating visuals.
8/10. Won't put it on any of my playlists but will enjoy it if I hear it
You need more subs.
You deserve it
❤
Aww haha thank you. People are always saying that and I'm like I'M TRYING, THE ROBOT NEEDS TO LIKE ME MORE haha. Thank you for that.
I really like the collaboration of these two.
Just subscribed to see how this journey goes. I love watching people realize she is amazing.
Welcome to the journey, happy to have you here. :)
Seeing how much you liked fortnight, I think you’ll really enjoy
Maroon
imgonnagetyouback
Glitch
Clean
Getaway Car
Lavender Haze
These song are all “slower” tempo synth pop tracks with a similar tone
Great reaction, welcome to the Swiftiehood. Cornelia St live is a good one, Dear John was my surprise song last year, that’s always a winner 😂 you missed Post not having his tattoos in the one scene! Have a great day!
Lol you know how many things I probably missed! Or maybe I saw it and just didn't acknowledge it..guess we'll never know. ;)
Cruel summer is something I'd think you would like
Ethereal… Epiphany… The Lakes…Labyrinth, This Love. If you like ethereal, those are great choices.
Truly hope you do more TS!! Great reaction!
I 100% plan to. Yall have been very welcoming. :)
Taylor has SO much music and almost all of it is better than the radio singles. You might enjoy the Midnights album.
My tears ricochet
Lavender Haze
Exile
False God
I Hate it Here
The Prophecy
Down Bad
Who's Afraid of Little Old Me
Ready for it
I did something bad
I could go on forever honestly
I def think My Tears Ricochet is a good one, I was trying to think what maybe has the same feel. Not the best at judging that type of thing. I hate it Here is the song he refers to that he didn’t like that he’s listened to already.
@@Sassyglbeauty oh snap! I was trying to find the video but couldn't
Intro and ready for it live reputation tour
Nice reaction...really nice😊 hope to hear more
More is definitely coming. :)
I think Taylor is a very talented lyricist!
I like All Too Well
Exile is another duet you may like.
I agree, Exile. Here is a link to her Long Pond Session, recorded during Covid. ruclips.net/video/tGvQMciP7Pc/видео.htmlsi=d1rTLDPa84spPN5x
So good! ❤❤
I'm happy I could earn your sub. :) And we have more songs to do, so hope to see you around!
Swiftie ready to follow you on this journey sir! More TTPD and Midnights soon!
Haha happy you're aboard. :) We have a ways to go! More to come.
ı dont wanna live forever Zayn and taylor swift this is gorgeous song
More Taylor reactions pls ❤❤❤
Us Swifties welcome anyone willing to actually give her a chance
So many people won’t
More are definitely coming. :) In time! I appreciate yall.
My Tears Ricochet & Exile are 2 good ones.
The Long Pond versions with explanations are wonderful!
The music doesn't hook me, but the video is a visual treat. I have a lot of respect for her.
she has a lot of amazing videos and she's been writing and directing a lot of them for a while now since The Man from Lover.
Maroon and Lavender Haze from Midnights are great
Swiftie here and I just subscribed!🫶🏼
Woooo, I have Swifities on my channel. Now it's a party. :) Have more to come so stay tuned.
Based on you liking this, I’d say you’re a fan of her duetting! I also like the song The Last Time that she duets as well. I also think you’d like All Too Well but you should listen first to the 10 minute version then watch the short film. It’s my favorite and I think you’d like it
Not a huge Taylor Swift fan (don't come at me!) but a few of her songs are great. I liked this one
She’s just an amazing person. She also has a genius IQ. 160.
I just know that you are gonna love Maroon!!
My gut says you'll love "Exile" by her and Bon Iver.
i would try "My BOy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys" its a bit more upbeat with a big chorus but its really good and the chorus goes crazy. its more simple but I wonder what you think of it
“Exile with Bon Iver” “Epiphany”, “My Tears Ricochet” all from “The Long Pond Studio Sessions” are far superior than the studio versions, imo. “The Prophecy” from TTPD is so underrated but is an extremely vulnerable song from Taylor to us. I love that you’re discovering Taylor’s music!! She’s so versatile and has something for everyone. I’d suggest that you try Exile next. 🎙️🤗
One thing about this video that I’d share (I have lots, but I cut it WAY down for you).
Subscribed for more Taylor Swift Reactions !!!!!🔥🔥🔥
Happy I could earn your sub, you got it! :)
You've probably heard it, but try "Style" from the album 1989. It was a single so you may have heard it already, but it's worth a listen.
I love this reaction 🫶 I am a relatively new Swifty myself, so it’s so much fun to watch other people go down the rabbit hole. I’m here for the ride! 🫶
Haha we shall go down this rabbit hole together then. :) Happy to have you aboard!
Recommend The Black Dog, imgonnagetyouback, Maroon, Fresh out the Slammer
loved it
Great reaction ❤ can I suggest trying something LIVE....Dont blame me or I did something bad from her Reputation tour
End game" featuring Ed Sheeran and Future.
I promise you won't be disappointed. Ready for it."
The intro music video
I hope you will welcome an old Caucasian widow who is a Swifty. I like your comments and intro delivery. It reminds me of having all my boys home again.
I welcome all. :) My channel is always a beacon of discussion and open-mindedness. Welcome aboard!
And aww lol that made me smile.
@@TheBlackSpeed Thank you, and you're welcome to put your feet under my table. Where I was raised that's like saying I will treat you as family.... Because, at the end of the day we are a family. Unless you don't..identify as a bipedal carbon based lifeform.... Just saying.
@@hilarytoffler5636 Hahaha that actually sounds somewhat familiar. Reminds me of my upbringing. You got it. :)
Did you catch the two Dead Poets Society actors playing scientists on a song from The Tortured Poets Department? Really cool ❤ The poets unite 😁
I didn't until I ran it back and saw. It's a very well-thought out video. It's clever.
An OG Swiftie in Boulder, CO.
READY FOR IT , DONT BLAME ME &
I DID SOMETHING BAD...
And live ERAS tour performaces of......
VIGILANTE SHIT
LAVENDER HAZE
BLANK SPACE
And her collabs with rappers that also have the Best Music videos with over 1 Billion views....
BAD BLOOD featuring K. Lamar
END GAME featuring Future.
I fully agree.
yess pls listen to down bad. its awesome i think youll like it
please do taylor swift Exile ft. Bon Iver and midnight rain
Have you done Intro + Are you ready for it Live? Or Did Something Bad live?
I haven't, I've only done two songs by her so far. I Hate It Here (which I didn't like) and Fortnight (which I love). So we have a lot more to go! Then I'm just going to create a Taylor Swift playlist ha.
@@TheBlackSpeed check the live version out. I think you'll like it
Play pentatonix---The Prayer---
Maroon is a bop.
Play----The Prayer Pentatonix
We haven't done a PTX video in a moment, perhaps it's time to do one!
You might like false god, they have different sounds, but they are both lower key vibey
I had to go back and look to see what song you didn’t like - and I see it’s “I hate it here”…. I don’t find myself listening much to the anthology songs except So High School.
Try Exile and Maroon.
Maroon is a great song
Oh you have no idea 😊the Taylor you’ve heard on radio isn’t the real Taylor.. you should look into the long pond sessions. Start with exile
Exile. Easy call.
Check out live taylor
maroon is great
