There's a good “behind the scenes” video about the making of this video. It shows Taylor directing the video while in full makeup. Hearing her normal voice while she looks like that is hilarious.

The one subtlety I think you missed is that she's not talking about all guys or most guys. She's talking about if SHE were a FAMOUS man, the way she is a famous woman, all of that stuff would be expected and okay. As a famous woman, she is not allowed to sleep with a bunch of people, be "rude," spend her money the way she wants, etc. But if she were a famous man it would all be applauded (note the hands applauding the guy as he left his one night stand). "I'd be just like Leo, in St. Tropez" (Leonardo DiCaprio).
She also makes a point to show black men and men of lower classes as having varied degrees of privilege compared to him.
Yup, but let's be for real, this is very much specifically from a white feminist (millionaire girlie's) standpoint!

For me, it was how she held the kid on her hip. Women do that thrust out men, none that’ve seen, do that. They hold the kid with their forearm.
To me it was how she pulled in her lower body as she moved around both at the start and as the tennisplayer. Most men seem to lead with the pelvis.

I didnt see Taylor as The Man, during my first view. Once I knew she was, I noticed the way she used her hands, and saw her in profile once. Otherwise it really was an awesome transformation. Kudos, to the crew who transformed her into the MAN.
Men should watch this while considering how they want their sisters, wives, and daughters (present or future) to be givenopportunities and treatment as a man in the same position is given. Most women do not take success for granted, therefore they must be overachievers, facing criticism for doing just that. Just as Taylor is criticized in the music industry, and life, regardless of all her many successes.

I love this song & video. It really lays bare the double standards in society, and the ones placed on her throughout her career. She dated people and had a number of relationships & heartbreaks in her teens to early 30’s - as MOST young people do. Yet she’s shamed for “going through so many men”, whereas men older than her like Drake & Leo get a free pass for getting through literally hundreds of women and not settling down. Leo in his 50’s can cavort on yachts with models, rappers can make it rain in strip clubs, but if she did that she’d be a “slut” or accused of flaunting her wealth. Her successes in the music industry are minimized or not taken seriously by so many men because they see her as just a blonde female pop star, when in fact she’s been probably the most dominant artist of the last decade and one of the most dominant of all time. She’s won more Grammy’s for album of the year than Michael Jackson, the Beatles, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder etc, yet somehow isn’t regarded as seriously as them by most men (you guys excepted of course).
You guys are sorta right but Taylor is more calling out double standards in society A women in the media and in general is forced to get married and have kids is judged on her relationships and what she wears while a Man does that stuff and he isn’t criticized at all he’s celebrated it’s more saying I want equality I wanted to be treated fairly not like an object you know!
