I told my wife about this show and since I had the dvd's we watched the whole thing. By the end we agreed Freakazoid should come back. They can trade out the Hollywood celebrity jokes for online Meme's and personalities. The internet's culture is finally big enough to properly realize Freakzoid and honestly I don't think the show would be that different.
One of my favorite moments on Freakazoid! was when the episode started with Freakazoid! being eaten by the week's villain monster. Switch to an animated version of Spielberg and his animation staff, with Spielberg screaming, "What were you thinking?!! How can you kill off the hero before the episode even BEGINS! What were you thinking?!" One of the staff said quietly, "Well, we were thinking we'd shut down early and fill the episode with Animaniacs reruns. Gotta love it. 🤣🤣
Paul ad-libbed most of Freakazoid's lines throughout the series. This is most apparent in Episode 1 "Dance of Doom" when he yells at Jeepers the Creep.
Freakazoid: Oh my God it is so terrible I cannot focus on anything else I have to resolve this I have to save the day! Kosgrove: Hey Freakazoid you want to go to the peanut festival with me...if you are not busy? Freakazoid: DO I EVER? I would love to I do not have anything going on. Kosgrove: Great lets go then.
"Freakazoid!" and "Earthworm Jim" were both great and funny superhero-themed cartoon shows that I fondly remember seeing on Kids WB! when I was a kid (the latter was also based on a video game, I might add), and I think it's a shame that both shows ended up being cancelled after only two seasons with close to the same number of episodes for each of them ("Freakazoid!" had 24 episodes while "Earthworm Jim" had 23 episodes).
I completely forgot about Earthworm Jim. My brother has the SEGA Genesis console game of Earthworm. Although it’s long since been gone, the one moment (or level… I honestly can’t remember which) was this grandma lady hitting Earthworm Jim, and yelling “fresh.” To this day, whenever this particular character randomly pops into my mind, I devantly chuckle to myself at how wrong this was… especially for back in the ‘90’s!! Then again, we did have the Animanics working in our favor, also. Another fine cartoon production of Spielberg’s. I believe that in this particular level, it was one of the bad guys you were supposed to defeat before the main one. (Did that last bit make any sense? I’m not a gamer, however, I honestly do appreciate a good video game, what it represents, and the characters).
@@katherinetaylor9886 The game you're able to talk about is actually "Earthworm Jim 2", which is also just as fun to play as the first one, and the granny character you mentioned is just an obstacle that appears in the first level that Jim has to avoid when using the chair lift in a couple of areas, which really adds to the wackiness of the game.
And I enjoyed both shows immensely. Freakazoid and Earthworm Jim were tops. A shame we have a horrid cartoon called Family Guy blighting the airwaves these days.

One of the problems I had with the show was it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too "Jerry Lewis"... I didn't care for his comedy, so I didn't enjoy the constant impression. Once and a while is ok, but Freakzoid did it constantly.

I loved this, and have both seasons. As a Jonny Quest fan, I especially enjoyed Toby Danger.
