I'd really like to see you make videos on customizing as well, seeing how knowledgeable you are about to joints and stuff, like a vid on how to prevent paint rub for beginners or something along those lines !
If I did customs still I would. Unfortunately, I do not have time for customs. To be honest the joy died in them for me unless I am doing them for myself. Once it turned into a second job and I lost creative control it wasn't worth losing my mental over. Had to cut it out of my life.
Great video keep it up, I’m getting the black version so I will have to wait for mine and hopefully sense it seems that the cape will not have as much cloth on it like the this vers. But if mine has problems I’ll definitely try this.
This could be a good way of trying to shorten the cape. I've been thinking of a way of trimming it down a bit and this could be a nice way of doing so I just don't know if I want to remove the cowl piece on mine.
This is SO AWESOME!!! What a genius. Great job and thanks for sharing. With that said though, the mere fact we need to be doing this on a $100+ figure is unacceptable.
I don’t know if I’m running into the same problem but I recently got a mafex figure for the dark Knight returns Batman. In my figure one of the wires is not connected into the cowl so one side of the cape Can’t hold the same poses the other side can.
Any pointer on how to remove the cape without breaking anything? My cape has one loose wire (one of the middle ones) and would like to fix just that. Would really appreciate it
Man, I’ve cut off some of the cape to ease its bulkiness, and, although it indeed looks better, the fabric started to fraying… which is strange, since it never did before. Any ideas??? Thanks!!
He eviscerated and totally destroyed this Batman figure! The way this figure is built, there’s absolutely NO reason why he should have done this. He warped the bottom of the cowl and put wider holes into the chest of the figure. The way he did that and the length of the screws could possibly mess with the plastic on the butterfly joints in the shoulders. This was destruction disguised as “fixing” an issue. That cape doesn’t even slide over the shoulders and then back behind the figure anymore how it was designed to now. If you have this or the other mafex Batman figures, don’t do this. You’re only going to destroy your figure because as you saw at the end of the video, he could no longer slide the cape backwards for fighting poses. He obviously didn’t read the directions for his figure.
@@Dale1688 then why buy a premium figure? The whole point is so that you don’t NEED to do stuff like this. You wanna chop up figures buy a Walmart Batman or a mcfarlane one at best.

@@ludotoyhunter8492because there’s this funny thing that once you pay for something you own it and it becomes your property. People modify hot toys all the time and those are premium figures I wouldn’t class Mafex as premium. Who are you to tell people what they can and can’t do with what they own?
That’s actually a very clever and unique way to fix this problem
Not the hero we deserved, but the hero we so very needed!

Great Fix.
I am thinking of trying bendy wire instead of screws.

It's less than $100 figure. At any given time (including the shipping), it would be about $85. Buy from AmiAmi, Amazon Japan, etc.
Great video Bill!
Excellent work! Thanks for sharing.
Dude this one was so different from yours! Yours had some sort of peg to use.
As always, great tutoríal.
would this work if the wire is broken?

Hmm. Message me on instagram @billmarutoychanics and maybe we can figure it out.

Whoa, I have the same problem too. Still looking to figure out what to do

hi great vid.. helped a lot. do you recon you can do the uneven cape issue with Mafex Hush Superman?? please if you can thanks a lot
So good man !!
Looks good 👍 I'm wondering if the cowl or plastic will stay glued on with the super glue to the chest area?
Just found this video but do you think that cape can be attached to a dc collectable
Any pointer on how to remove the cape without breaking anything?

Would really appreciate it
I would suggest heating it up and prying it out gently at the entrance point with a punch.
@@billmaru would a hairdryer be enough?
@@dabicho yep!
Thank you. This is helps a lot.
Hey man. I believe the wiring broke on mine. Is there a good way to fix that?
A 90$ action figure... and it doesn't even come with an engineering degree? Pffft!
How do I get the cowl off?

Great video, but could you not just gorilla glue the cape to the actual body?
You are the man serisely i fallow this lads repairs on Instagram saved me more the once!
Do you make custom capes? I want a custom one for my MK McFarlane Spawn.
Nah man. I just repair figures. Check out gpslot on ebay.
Do mafex Batman dark knight returns please
i HATE the wire in the cape, in your observations, is there any way you can take it out man? without ruining/tearing up the cape?
Not all the heroes wear cape! Thanks
That’s my mafex Batman. lol
That it is!
mines just done it lol

Pretty sure people can do what they want with their figures. He could paint it bright pink if he wanted.

Really want to pick up the black version of this but this cape issue has me concerned... as we all feel its a $100 figure this shouldn't happen.
