Oliver Stone did the movie Natural born killers with Woody Harrelson. That movie was a killer 😊 I know this interview is old , but I like say...thank you for your service Oliver Stone.🎞️🎥 And thanks for sharing this video David film maker 🙏
He has always been one of my absolute favorite directors for his art style and overall storytelling. He is a rare example of someone who broke into Hollywood but stayed true to himself and his vision.
I think more highly of him than of the movies he has directed. He is intelligent; speaks and writes well. I read a great interview with him in a compilation book of nothing but interviews with actors, directors, producers, etc. It seems he usually has something interesting to say.
Just finished reading his book, 'Chasing the Light.' Excellent read. Great writer, director, story teller. Love JFK, Nixon, Born on the Fourth of July, Platoon, Heaven and Earth, the list goes on. I like what he wrote in his book, 'The screenwriter must learn the art of detachment, which is difficult when strong emotions are involved.' Oliver Stone.
To think of all the infantry men who came to understand that winning the Vietnam war was hopeless even before mid 68.. the last helicopter left in August 1975 . What a horrific thing to know while in a war ..
Wow.. Didn't know about the kids drafted were of lower class .. Didn't think about the things he shared about war! Thank you so much for sharing this! I got so much from it. Especially the part that repeated (unless it was only my phone who repeated it?) But it was screaming at me to listen to it twice as good. SYMPTOMS OF SYNDROMES OF DISTRESS a piece I'm doing in my art journal now.. So many quotes from this video I could use for art inspiration! Thanks David Such a new way of viewing the war and LIFE in every aspect
Isn’t it amazing that in 35 years we have gone from the idea of a “young Republican conformist” to kids being young, progressive, woke, conformists? There is a whole new generation who has unquestioning belief in the power and morality of the federal government. The pendulum has merely shifted to the other side.
No sir this isn't the full interview!! The full interview is on David Hoffman's channel from 3 yrs ago, I could listen to Oliver Stone talk all day, and David Hoffman too!
To all of you praising this man for his 'intelligence' or character and what not should check what he's been up to lately. You are in for some rude awakening.
Thanks. Why don't you list the name of your colleague who made this interview? You also didn't mention your colleagues who helped in the Bascom Lamar Lunsford film. It doesn't hurt to mention names of people you worked with (doesn't detract from you at all).
At the height of my career there were 70 people in my production company. Many of them were involved in many of these shoots. I could not name them all. It is not a single person but a group of us that often worked together as a team. David Hoffman filmmaker
Nuclear Power is the only source of emission free energy that can effectively satisfy global demand. I just attended the premier of his documentary Nuclear Now. It is one of the most thorough examinations of the facts and misconceptions surrounding nuclear energy I’ve seen. And I’ve seen a lot of nuclear energy documentaries.
@@RaySquirrel Global demand can just stop being so greedy. There is plenty of almost free power from tides, wind and sun. Norway powers itself with 99% renewables. Nuclear is very expensive when you factor in decommissioning, even pro nuclear physicists like Sabine Hossenfelder acknowledge that. There is no way of safely disposing of the waste. A turbine can just be... you know, taken down. They are a target for terrorists (are Russian gun turrets on the roof of the Zaporizhzhia reactor a great idea?) The waste from Sellafield, including 10,000 tons of Magnox swarf, is still not safe enough to pour into the sea. Remember Chernobyl and Fukushima? Still not fixed. The next accident could be way, way worse. And you want to leave that legacy to your descendants?
@@DavidHoffmanFilmmaker Sorry Mr Hoffman but burying our waste is not feasible. Burying Japanese waste in an earthquake prone region is crazy. The US offered LOADS of money to Australia to drop their waste in deep bores in central Australia. The Aussies said no. Why create the monster in the first place? ps I love your videos, especially the interviews with old hippies, soldiers and misfits!
He's on the side of truth, the American government are lying and creating war and blaming Putin.. Stone looks a little deeper than the mainstream media narrative.

It's a masterpiece.
Woody Harrelson’s father was a contract killer for the mob. True story.
Saved to watch later. I look forward to watching it later tonight.

would you please recommend the book? Thank you very much.
Love Oliver Stone. Still sharing your gold mine of awesomeness with us all! Thanks Mr. Hoffman❤
This was tremendous! Thank you
After watching this interview, I like him much more.
This is fabulous. Thank you. 🙏
Great interviews with Oliver Stone.
Very powerful!
Very insightful and interesting man. From Platoon to Untold History of the United States, he has done some great work.
Love this stuff... thank ya Mr Hoffman 👍
The untold history of the United States is one of the best documentaries by Oliver Stone.
I NEED TO SEE THIS
Mr. Hoffman, great interview, like always, what inside of the mind of a young man, in the Vietnam era.
Oliver Stone is a national treasure

My second favorite political filmmaker behind Costa Gavras and my favorite living American filmmaker
Is this guy charismatic or what?!

Excellent story. Concerning at the end considering today's America!😏

Nowadays he is a Putin fan boy and thinks nuclear power is green. Lost it.
