Rachel, you are pleasantly sneeky lol Wasn't expecting to see a post today. "I almost wash nothing that comes out of the garden"😳(woman, you are brave lol) . Thanks for the pruning and brewing tips. We always appreciate you !
I grew Holy Basil this year and I was going to look for a recipe to make the tea. I like that I can make a batch and keep it in the refrigerator. Thank you so much. Off to the garden to pick the basil and make the tea.
This one is very good for stir fried as good as Thai sweet basil. It’s give a peppery test but high fragrance and sweet finished.Very easy to grow and it reseeds itself. You grow once enjoyed it forever. One of my favorite basil.🥰
I rinse with the hose 30 mins b4 I harvest... let Sun dry and anything is tops.. wheather for dehydrator or pickling or sauces... quik answer for 97% clean
I eat herbs right off the plant..if im feeling unwell, i go grab some mint, or oregano, fresh and eat it, I dont use pesticides and none of my neighbors do either. If a see a bug i just remove it. I've tought my kids and grandkids the same. Its ok to eat fresh food. Shake it off if its dusty and eat it. 🤷♀️ I'm still alive.
Thank you for an extra treat for the week! I have not been able to get my Tulsi to grow this year, but since African Blue is going crazy and is too strong for fresh eating, I will use this recipe and try tea.
In this day and age, with all the pollution from airplanes, etc. and cloud-borne industrial pollution from nearby cities, I would definitely recommend washing since the rain is going to pick up these microparticles in the droplets as they fall through the layers of air.

I don’t wash either unless it looks dirty… thanks for sharing where do you get your holy basil seeds and start them for planting?
I got mine from truelove seeds
How many leaves is a tablespoon?
I don't wash my leaves, too. I make tea out of fresh holy basil (tulsi), peppermint tea, and rosemary leaves.
I wash everything I get out of my garden.
Where can I get holy basil plant??
I'm not sure where to get started plants, but I started mine from seed that I got from True Love seeds.
Hot water with honey is not good you should wait until it cool down

Grow genovese and spicy globe, save seeds, the hybrid they created is amazing. It's a larger leaf bush basil type... yass
ah you are making fresh leaves for tea.
