    I've made this 3 times now and I have to say, it is a fantastic recipe. My air fryer has wire racks and I cook it at 170° for 90 minutes and it comes out amazing. Thanks for the recipe, it only cost me about $6.00 to make over $25.00 worth of jerky if I bought it in the store and there are no preservatives in this.

      Hey thanks for that comment, Frank! I have so many "Jerky purists" saying this will never work. Everyone who has tried it says they've loved how it comes out.
      Obviously not the same shelf-life as traditional but I've gotten a good 4 weeks in a vacuum seal with no refrigeration and no issues.

    I've made jerky over 500 times in a dehydrator. I always just used my favorite marinade.. Mine is hoover sauce.. you really should cut meat with the grain for chewy jerky.. against grain for tender. marinade for 2 days minimum for full flavor. Before going on the racks sprinkle black pepper or jalapeno powder or whatever you like. then dehydrate for 7-8 hours on preferred temperature of dehydrator for jerky. easy and delicious

    • @ExtremeFoodReviews
      @ExtremeFoodReviews  5 лет назад +2

      Same. I'm on my third dehydrator in 27 years. This was good though, it has a lot more to do with the amount of air the air fryer can move even at such a low temperature that makes this method work fairly well.
      Sometimes homemade jerky can be too "Papery" for my liking.

    Thanks for the tips! With my new oven air fryer, I found that I had to go another 30 minutes. FANTASTIC!!! Now, because I was putting my air fryer through a shakedown cruise, I just used standard bottled Caribbean Jerk marinade with red peppers, sugar, cayenne and w-sauce. The meat was breakfast steak, thinly cut. Perfect! I only had to cut a few pieces. My opinion: You can overdo any peppers and sugar. Thanks, EFR!!!

    Bro, that's insane. We've got an air fryer but we've never thought to try making jerky in it. I'm gonna try and convince everyone else to let me make a batch.

    Followed the recipe except for the liquid smoke I'm going to use my pellet smoker...the marinade tastes amazing so I'm pretty sure the end result will be fantastic!

    Just tried this recipe and it's pretty good. Jerky came out softer not chewy like typical jerky. I'm not able to hang the meat but it pays on racks. What do you think?

      Another viewer mentioned that his air fryer didnt have a lip on the basket but he did the same thing.
      The point of hanging then is really about getting more into the air fryer.
      You can absolutely lay them into the basket.
      I recommended moving them periodically during the process for better dehydration.
      Is that what you did?

      Welcome aboard! It's actually really good, and I'm not just saying that because I made it. Overwhelming response from everyone who has done it was that they loved it. Definitely let me know how yours turns out or if you make any flavor changes!
