I love Roald! My Nintendo switch had something go wrong with it and it doesn’t work anymore, so I can’t have him walking around the island! If you get his amibo, give him the prom crown and the cow skull. He looks great in those.

Yes, but the same thing is with dream islands. If you're looking for different starters, they'll split up into smaller chances. Like, if there's more villagers for a specific species, then your chance lessens of getting the specific one you want.

Both of my sisters had Plucky as one of their starting villagers on their own islands. One of my sisters whom played since the game was new at the time no longer has Plucky; the other whom I bought as a gift for her birthday recently still has her until she builds the campsite (and sets housing for that first campsite visitor) which unlocks the ability to part with villagers via the thought bubble method, and until she maxes her villager population to 10.

Most of the items they added in the 2.0 Free Update are items intended for the HAPPY HOME PARADISE DLC including cash registers, checkout counters, hospital beds and other equipment, restaurant machines etc.; and furniture meant for some villagers’ vacation home ideas. If those pop up when you shop at Nook’s Cranny or from gifts by popping balloons, they tend to encourage you to buy the DLC if you don’t have it yet.

Leonardo. I invited him later on in the game, I hated his skull interior which I eventually remodeled after getting the remodeling permit from HHP after completing the main storyline of that DLC. He was a cool villager until I let him go to make room for Kyle.
You mean from the 3-housing plots quest? He’s a lazy villager and can be invited from that quest that is the first effort in growing the island’s population.
I had Boone and Hazel. I was never a fan of Boone, and thankfully let him move off my island while trying to get some better villagers. Hazel, I didn’t mind having, but moved her out to make room for Felicity - whom still lives on my island to this day. Both of my starting villagers have their birthdays just 13 days away where summer ends and autumn begins in between their birthdays.

Some players may enjoy some villagers for a while, and then have to let some of them go to make room for new ones, per each player’s island’s 10-villager capacity. She was good for a start, but it was time for me to move on for some new ones. However, I heard some people disliked her for having a unibrow, hence her catchphrase “uni-wow” being a reference to the unibrow.
