I would be nowhere without these softwares. You can get them all with a comfortable monthly subscription, or you can get subscriptions to individual plans. Check them out and see what works for you. The main software I'm using to actually animate frame by frame is called TVPaint. Thank you for the great video! I wanted to know, for your camera walkthrough from roughly 13:00 to 13:30 what other softwares do this camera perspective trick where you don’t need to resort to a traditional V camera box? I know you said you use adobe, but I’m trying to find free alternatives if possible :) Thanks!
When I was a very little kid, I played with my stuffed animals a lot, and I remember I used to pose them in action shots and imagine how the composition and angle would be if it were an animated film. I didn't know anything about film, I just watched a lot of action movies and was always trying to figure out what made them look so cool.
My mom had a ton of beanie babies when i was younger. I used to have wars with them and played for hours, good times. Sometimes I'll pull out the ol Gi Joe's and "mess" with them lol
Dude, i can´t tell you how helpful this was. I can´t even point out what exactly makes me feel that way but it just was helpful. I think your words somehow showed me that i need to get more "hands on" with stuff and maybe take my time to plan out my objects and environment in the real world before going into any program. I guess i start thinking differently and get caught up in unneccessary technical stuff once i draw digitally without having visualized my scene in 3D in the real world. Thanks so much, for real. I´m a poor student so i can´t offer you anything more than my thankful comment and a sub, so here you go

This is exactly i was looking for. And it was hard for me to accept that animating a whole sequence requires prior practical experimentations with real models. But now i guess, thats the only hard way to learn this, there are no software shortcuts. Thanks for this hard validation :)
Thanks so much, this is super helpful, especially when you broke it down with the polar bear. Really helpful stuff and the tips/summary towards the end. Great content!

Great video, looking forward to seeing more from you. Just discovered you as I'm myself looking for the best way to jump into full time freelance in the near future. I'm nowhere close to where you are, hopefully in a few years even collaborate when if I can build my technical skill up in time. Thank you so much for creating your tutorials and sharing your knowledge, I hope you realize how impactful it is. Cheers bud!
you could do this in blender or a similar program (for free!). Then you could model things that you wouldn't be able to grab with a camera. But then you would have to model it :P that's what i'm learning how to do
I've been having an issue figuring out 3D rotation on a 2D format since I dont have a high-end software. An immediate example i can think of is the Obito vs Kakashi fight in Naruto and how they made that possible practically

Awesomel! And you can use any DCC (Maya, Blender with grease pencil etc.) in addition or instead of real camera. In most cases it even more convenient ;)
Though I am new to this technique with animating camera movement, I thank you for your videos. Various scenes from different anime series that would create movement circling a character or zooming toward a face fascinated me to want to learn how to master this skill. I was advised by other artists to try to practice with shapes (making a circle bigger for example) and perspective or resizing the frames to create the illusion of panning out or to a character or field, though as a beginner this is taking time to be used to. I will try following your suggestions and hope to one day improve on both anatomy and camera movement.
This is incredible. Very helpful...animating angles, and perspectives, not to mention fight sequences is so so daunting. Terrifying v.v i hope can improve! I've been doing digital animation for a while, but my mind just can't get around these concepts 😅
Hey I always appreciate your videos and your large variety of insight. I found this artist you may know. His name is ching yeh just thought you would enjoy his work. That is all.
You should really reach out to Ksi and see if you can work on his next future song. He's a big big DBZ fan and love animation action in general. And if you let him know you could get him as a character he would probably hire you in a second. He spent a shit ton( hundreds of thousands) for a diamond beerus necklace

Love this video! I see you're using TVPaint. It's a great animation program, but what I don't like about it (at least in the standard edition) is that you cannot draw outside of the canvas. As you pointed out, I like to continue my lines beyond the camera frame and not being able to do this in TVP feels rather limiting and a bit frustrating. So I created a template that is larger than full HD and includes a gray border that I can draw on. After the animation is done I can crop it down to export it without the border. I think I saw you doing basically the same thing?
Hey, I’d like to know what to take in math to get into animation schools.. As my math teacher said I am struggling in math and supposedly take workplace however, my teacher said that animation schools would get fuzzy about it or smth some may or may not accept me. Please let me know what to learn for an animation school (college/university)
@@default853 For 2d animation it doesn't require maths, because it is YOU who draws. Theres a book called The Animators Survival Kit. It broadly tells the fundamentals in 2d animation. Also practise drawing regularly, if you can
Dante Ele uh sorry one more but do you think, with my low sense of math or if were to take workplace math would some animation school’s accept me or will it be hard to get into an animation school?
you would have to redraw the painting as the camera moves into place, or if it is already there at the start of the shot just create the painting at that angle where it would be viewed
