It's not a foul lol, his racket didn't even cross his opponent's side of the net, christo popov did the same thing against tsuneyama during the China Open, the umpire didn't call a foul and tsuneyama didn't protest either
1:42 Rules have changed over the years but now it is not a foul or block as long as the other player can swing full and as long as the shuttle hits your racket on your side of the net. You do not have to make even a partial swing or a "badminton gesture" (whatever that means). Umpire needs retraining.
@@Al6kar Agree. The consequence for the official should be 10 hours of retraining at his own expense and it should be recorded as an error on his permanent record. Officials get nervous and refuse to admit a mistake. There could now be video review by WBF for an obvious mistake. Many other sports do this now.

I haven’t see goh training but his arm is very strong

wouldn't the first one be obstructing opponent like the recent nishimoto case?
not an obstruction, the umpire was high on drugs saying nishimoto obstructed.
@@manewhairstyle haha not really sure, cuz I saw something in the rulebook regarding the obstruction thingy...
@@manewhairstyle yeah wtf was that call? seems like nishimoto obstructed the umpire's braincells
@@anonymous-uh4kw as an umpire myself, Nishimoto was nowhere near obstructing. Terrible call.
Nishimoto is one sneaky sob.
But I agree that was a wrong call.
so much iconic moment in ciputra hanoi lol
would have been obstuction in All England 2024.... in the first clip hahahaha
First shot is Foul (obstruction). You Cant block shuttlecock like Volleyball. Unless you Swing your racket at that time.

@@markchandler7089 He was not even close to the net. And he was doing a shot move. Umpire has to be fired and penalized for screwing up.
No, that is not obstruction. You do not have to do a gesture or swing, you simply have to permit the opponent a full swing.
