Yooo I just realized that 2020 was the year of Dalgona Coffee and now 2021 is the year of the actual Dalgona. Also didn’t expect the duck to be a bit easier :D I’m excited to try this out!
"After two attempts, it's not fun- it's just work" hahah! Love your videos- they're so humorous and SO CLEAR in instructions. Really appreciated learning about the science behind this reaction! My favorite dalgona video so far (and there are a LOT)
This was a fun video Chef Hanbit 😁 especially at the challenge section of the video 😂 I thought you were gonna say IC due to frustration 😂😅 but this is RUclips and your channel is wholesome
Quick chemistry/baking question - does the baking soda really make that much of an impact? From what I understand, we’re looking for a quick short foamy rise, and would that also work with, say, cream of tartar or baking powder which as we know does contain baking soda anyway. This is really interesting and I’m very curious about alternative results. Great video as always, Hanbit!
yeah baking soda is absolutely crucial. yep baking soda is included inside baking powder but baking soda is much more concentrated and stronger than baking powder.
People who make mistakes with this candy need to all watch your video before attempting theirs LOL this is fabulous and you are so smart, I love your videos.
Chef, not only your professionalism, but also your cuteness make me fan of your channel, you are the most cutest chef I have ever known, love from Azerbaijan 🇦🇿
Thanks a lot for this man, i failed to times until i realised it was a recipe with very low success rates, then I watcher your video and succeeded at the first attempt, it was so tasty
Unbelievable!!! It looks fun to make Dalgona candy BUT honestly it's huge challenges to crop it out. It really needs personal patience, focus & fully concentration on its crop with needle. Looking forward to see your next video though... big hugs to you... cheers & stay cool & classy
once you add the baking soda, you need to mix it while off the heat. Once mixed, heat it for like 4-5 more secs and then pour. Once you have added the baking soda, it has a higher chance to burn and that's why you don't keep it near the heat.
@@HanbitCho it's insane to watch the Dalgona masters that actually got hired for the show ... It's so freaking seamless. I spent so much time watching videos because of Squid Game. The candy itself is just so interesting! Great video btw
I once accidentally made Dalgona while trying to make Pralines. A New Orleans candy made of cooked sugar, baking soda and condensed milk with nuts or alcohol added... It was quite tasty with coffee...
I have a question: Are you able to make the candy with the instant coffee? Or would it produce a different consistency in the candy because the properties of the instant coffee? I've been very curious about this, but I have not attempted to test the recipe yet. (I love your videos, and that vanilla syrup recipe is absolutely DIVINE! I will never buy flavoring syrup from the store again. My dad loves it too. We both love coffee, and videos like yours have allowed me to enjoy the cafe tastes without spending a fortune. Thank you for being kind in sharing these recipes!
I have a pretty much fool-proof method and it's funny since I got it right on the first try :D okay so you get your baking paper ready and spread it over a counter top, preferably as close to where you're melting the sugar as possible, for a quick and easy transfer. Then get yourself that metal thing you use to scoop up soup, and pour in about two flat tablespoons of normal sugar. Melt the sugar until its smooth, but not for too long, then add a pinch of baking soda and take it off the heat. stir in the baking soda until it's your desired colour and pour the mixture onto the baking sheet(the shape should be vaguely circular, dw it doesn't have to be perfect. Now the amount of time you wait before pressing in the shape( with a cookie cutter of your choice, that I reccomend lightly dusting with flour to prevent sticking) is how difficult it will be to cut out the shape. If it is pressed in quite soon the ridge will fill in slightly making it more difficult to scrape the cookie out. The later you press in the shape, the easier the cookie will snap. Don't be like me who put in in too late and my cookies would practically explode in my hands from just touching them. So wait the desired amount of time and press in your shape, but don't keep it there for too long. How deep you press in the shape also decides how difficult(and stable) your cookie will be. Then take out the cookie cutter and let the cookie rest for quite some time (I find between 5-10 minutes is good), with a little time on the baking paper and most off the baking paper, and there you go. Enjoy :)
Heh, these are now very popular... I wonder why 😁 But, they do seem to be a finicky little thing. Caused a bit of stress, right?! They remind me of macarons in a way that they have simple ingredients, yet they are so delicate and finicky. 🙃 P.S. the suit looks great! Love the video!
You're very cute for this ep. 😁😁 I'd eaten dalgona when I went to Korea I love it but it's very hard to find where it sell. when I found it I bought it back to my country.😂😂😂
Thank you for the tutorial. I want to try making this for my friends to play. How far in advance can you make the candies? Does the game have to be played right away or can the cookies wait a little while so I can get a few made at once.
I think it should be ok to make it a day in advance and then put in a ziplock bag in the fridge's crisper drawer if you have one, if not then possibly the veggie drawer. You basically don't want it to get moist. (also it is veeeeery fragile so be careful storing it.)
I made some dalgona following this tutorial, there was one problem though, I couldn't get all of the mixture out of the pan, then the bits of mixture on the pan hardened and it was super annoying to scrape off 😂 do you have any tips for getting all the mixture out of the pan?
