This was something my mother made for me when I was very young. We had just immigrated from Korea to the U.S.A. in 1975. We were very poor and my mother wanted to give me some kind of sweets as a reward for doing something good like chores or for being a good boy. She couldn't afford to buy me candy, so instead she made me Dalgona. She would even use an upside down cup and make a Circle for me to cut out. It wasn't easy for a 4 year old to do at the time. If I did manage to get it out, she would make another one as a reward. Dalgona will always have a special place in my heart.
