Thanks, Lyn. It's a very moving piece to read. I kept thinking of him sitting there, thinking of his best friend, and looking at the battlefield and all those poppies. Kind regards, Gordon

Living less than an hour from the hometown of McCrae, Guelph, Ontario, I was familiar with this story but you’ve added a couple of details that I was unfamiliar with, thank you. I’m also within an hour of the Alexander Graham Bell homestead in Brantford, Ontario, where he conceived of the idea and design for the telephone, although the device was later constructed in Boston.

Thanks so much, Mike, very nice of you and your wife to say so! Hope everything is OK with you. June and I are fine. We were very busy with family holidays during the summer, and then we both went down with a cold that lasted for about six weeks, just couldn't shake it off. A lot of people in Scotland had it. Anyway, all better now! Kindest regards from Scotland, Gordon
