Loved my time in the RE and my careers officer was right.. get a trade first and then if you like the soldiering side of it progress.. I look back at my time in 59 commando with the fondest of memories earning my green lid and setting myself up for a career after the army was all worth it
I really wanted to go into royal engineers as an officer but I didn’t manage to pass science GCSE, so I’m probably just going to go as a normal RM combat engineer
Aye, most of these mere mortals will learn their trades through an apprenticeship. So what? I guarantee that most snobby twats who harrumph about engineering degrees wouldn't last a day on a construction site.
I loved my time in the Royal Engineers - Given the chance I would do it all over again - What a grate family

And i can guarantee you that 95% of these people lack an engineering degree and have no clue what a natural logarithm or a vector is.
