If for short Momonga is a stupid moron who do anything he just just to not break this ideal Evil picture of himself in his subordinates minds.
So if they accidentially think that he want to skin alive 10000 children in front of their parents, then who are he to break this ideal picture he will of course allow it and suggest to increase this number to 20000.
Momonga isnt evil he is stupid. His subordinates are evil ESPECIALLY Demiurgus, and Momonga just do as they suggest.
This suggestion might be a bit late but you should make a list of names and descriptions of the characters. Some of them gets shown a few times but gets mentioned later on when you might have forgotten who they are. The fact that some names are weird and uncommon doesn't help either. Extreme examples of these names would be Kyouhukou, Kaijali, Gashokukochuuou, CZ 2128 (no spoilers).
Btw No Spoiler or anything but, In every season of Overlord there is also a short anime called Ple-Ple-Pleaides that is fully comedy and features the battle maid Pleaides from Overlord (obviously)... It will help you to know more the characters from Overlord... if you interested of course
@@kurniaarafah9373 And dont forget little cross-over with Eminense of Shadow)
The reason Shalltear said "Shorty" was because Aura used a skill to draw her attention at the last second otherwise she would have attacked Ainz before he could have used that last cash shop item, That eye that appeared over her shoulder was Auras doing.
Also the only reason she had this opportunity is because Ainz-sama hesitated to kill a dear NPC, not because he miscalculated.
This is the part most people get wrong. Dont get me wrong Im not arguing against you. The complete story is that Ainz Hesitated because he was not sure if Shaltear could be revived for sure. This gave an opening to Shaltear and Aura had to interfere. That is why Aura considers it as the victory of Ainz.
I totally agree with you. What I meant was, that if Ainz-sama was 100% sure that Shaltear can be revived he would not have hesitated (at least most likely) to do it. And if this was a not 100% deal but with a person that is not dear to Ainz-sama, he would not have hesitated as well. So these two factors combined made him act this way and that is what I expressed as "hesitated to kill a dear NPC".@@brotato966
@ yeah my reply was to SilverKing not you. I completely agree with you.
You are wrong.
Since you finished season 1, and since it's never exaplained in anime, here's some additional info you might or might not know already. The anime is based on a Light Novel series, season 1 adapted first 3 volumes and at the end of each one there are characters sheets which include information like classes, race, level, karma/alignment and specific stats. From volume 1-3 there has been 12 of them. I'm not gonna go into specifics, but I'm just gonna mention every single character that has been given this sheet so far and their level and race, starting with:
-Momonga (level 100, Skeleton Mage, Elder Lich, Overlord)
-Albedo (level 100, Imp)
-Aura Bella Fiora (level 100)
-Mare Bello Fiore (level 100)
-Kokytos (level 100, Insect Figher, Vermin Lord)
-Demiurge (level 100, Imp, Archdevil)
-Battle Maid Narberal Gamma (level 63, Doppelganger)
-Hamsuke (around level 30)
-Battle Maid Yuri (level 51, Zombie, Dullahan)
-Shalltear Bloodfallen (level 100, Vampire, True Vampire)
-Pandora's Actor, the one that Ains created (level 100, Doppelganger, Greater Doppelganger)
There's also one other battle maid here, but I don't think she even made appearance in anime, so I'm gonna skip over that. It's also worth to point out that every character in this list is described as Heteromorphic Race, expect for the two dark elfes - Aura and Mare, which are of Humanoid Race.
I think some guy from Patreon comment already made a spreadsheet about this
@@EuraSilva99 Oh, didn't know about it, I only sometimes read comments.
I totally forgot about the character sheets.
Here take my like.
Up you go.
Actually the last maid also a humanoid race too, Immortal human for more precise, but I doubt that we will ever see her😢
@@andi_prakosaoff course when ainz against them (in movie), we will see The immortal Human Maid.
The eye that appeared behind Shalltear was one of Aura's skills to pull aggro which is why Mare asked if she did something. Shalltear said shorty because of her relationship with Aura
Ah okay!
"He killed, people, innocent people!"
Why do I hear goats Baa-ing in the distance?

Hi Luke, congrats on finishing season 1/ Book 3 of Overlord. I will once again recommend the ple-ple-Pleides shorts and movie with 2-3 minute episodes shorts for each episode of Overlord. They are humorous and add more lore and context.
At the time that season 1 aired no one knew if they would even be granted a second season, so the ending sequence showing what all the characters were up to was in part meant to be an epic teaser to tempt people into the world of the novels. There was in fact a very long gap between seasons 1 and 2.
Answering questions:
9:35 Bukubuku Chagama is the sister of Peroronchino. Peroronchino created Shaltear, while Bukubuku Chagama created the dark elf twins Aura and Mare
10:57 I is not explained well in the anime but this is Aura using a long-distance fear ability to briefly distract Shaltear, because Ainz briefly hesitated in breaking the time reduction item that would unleash his super tier spell and kill Shaltear. Aura was the “shorty” that Shaltear referred to as she was dying.
12:07 Nazarick is still a Guild base from a video game, and Shaltear is still an NPC so yeah there was never any reason to believe she wouldn’t be revived. Though for the residents of the New World it may have been better if she stayed dead
20:10 Ainz/Momon the adventurer will lie to the adventurer guild about what created the large area of sand by saying the crystal containing 8th-tier magic did it, since the item is rare and the average level of the world is low no one will be able to test it.
21:05 Ainz wants to do experiments to see what type of corpses he needs to create higher-level undead servants using his skills.
21:35 I did find that very shocking the first time I watched it. Many of us are desensitized too it at this point though. I for one don’t generally enjoy routing for the evil character but that is what Ainz is, and yeah some of the fanbase can get a bit too into it.
23:25 The bowing man was with the group that ran into and brainwashed Shaltear. They are the black scripture of the Slain Theocracy and are ridiculously strong by new world standards, the bowing man was strong enough to take an attack head-on from Shaltear and only be knocked back, and in possession of a World item from Yggdrasil. We also found out that most of the events of this season were in some way linked to the Slain theocracy. Nigun was the head of the sunlight scripture and he was the one who attacked Carne village and the royal head warrior, Clementine is the former member of the black scripture and traitor that was on the run and being chased by the Windflower scripture. While the black scripture itself encountered and brainwashed Shaltear while traveling.
24:40 That’s Gazonga Slime, the Pleides maid Solution Epsilon to you, also its her normal Maid outfit
@gotgames
Ainz's mentality is generally Neutral and he does things if they are beneficial, but when it comes to anything that even remotely has the possibility of negatively impacting Nazarick or his NPC's he will do the most evil things possible to those responsible or even perceived to be responsible and make them into an example for all time. this can include torture mind control murder of individuals and their loved ones, and having people get eaten alive.
mhm, reason I dropped the anime during the second half of season 3, just couldn't stand him as an MC anymore.
😳
@@stavik96yeah it's definitely not for everyone. i personally like it but there are aspects i dont really enjoy
@@stavik96 Yeah because your a baby. He is amazing his darkness makes him even better. He and anyone else should be willing to do the same in certain situations. Also him losing his humanity is one of the most major parts of the story and was since the beginning. The fact that you made it that far in the show is baffling because his willingness to do those things were VERY apparant the ENTIRE show.
The author of Overlord was a Dungeon and Dragons fan. He developed Overlord when all his DnD friends were too busy to play it.
Ainz hesitated to kill Shalltear in the last second and Aura noticed that, so she used a taunt, like she did with the hamster, to aggro Shalltear for a bit so she doesn't use Ainz hesitation and attack him.
That's why Shalltear see an eye on her back and said "shorty", she notice that's was Aura interference
explanation to the slain theocracy scene at the end and some of the events in earlier eps:
the blackscriptor group of the slane theocracy is responsible for the mind control attack on shalltear.
thats what that brief scene at the end was all about.
shalltear had a run-in with them a few eps ago when she was chasing brain unglaus and/or the lone ranger that run away when found the adventurer group (iirc in the LN it was a couple of rangers that got away)
shalltear let her household loose to search the forest, when some of them got taken out when encountered the black scripture (they were on a secret mission to deal with an dangerous monster).
shalltear gave chase, the second the black scripture saw em, the leader, that is talking in the scene at the end of this ep with his bosses, told one of his ppl to use downfall of castle and country to take control of her - they had no idea how strong she was, but that she was very strong, so immediately tried to nuke her.
lady kaire activated her world item skill, while was channeling shalltear launched an attack, the strongest defender of the group tried to block it and got taken out along with lady kaire.
the skill still triggered, but with lady kaire unable to issue commands, they were forced to retreat and leave shalltear behind, who then defaulted to standard npc behaviour.
some other stuff happens, and ainz evtl finds her.
--and because Shalltear doesn't remember any of that, there is no way for Ainz to know that the person who controlled her is already dead, and Slane doesn't have more agents ready to fill the gap.
So since you asked in the video here's some explanations for what Ainz meant with false data: life and world champion class. Its not a spoiler since this doesnt really get explained further in the anime:
So false data: life as implied by the spell name is a spell that lets you disguise how much hp you seem to have, both in total and current. Ainz used this to make himself Seem, stat wise, to take more damage from the holy spells than from the fire spells shalltear used, alongside by acting like he felt nothing from the flames but flinched when hit with holy spells. All to make her think he was weak to holy damage and make her spam those instead of fire spells. Naturally the truth is the opposite, his gear was specced to make him highly resistant to holy damage but leaves him weak to fire since both elements are highly harmful to undead like himself. The false data: life spell was just in case Shalltear used her life-sense skill/ability to actually look at his hp but she didnt do that during the fight (just before it) so it proved unnecessary.
As for World Champion Class, this is the class that only one player in the entire game of yggdrasil ever got. And the one who obtained it was Touch Me. It came with the badass armor and unique sword and some very nasty skills like a superior, warrior based version of the reality slash spell that Ainz liked to use during this battle. Typically you would Have to have the unique world champion class to equip the world champion gear but ainz bypasses this by using a spell that lets him play as if he was a warrior (only stat wise, he doesnt get the skills and abilities a true warrior class character would get... but the spell makes up for it somewhat by enabling the caster to equip any warrior-type gear regardless of normal restrictions such as the world champion class thing.
there is a total of 9 world champions - one for each realm in the game.
its an inherited class, that means, if anyone defeates thee world champion of any world, they will get the class and all the benefits of it along - and there is a lot of benefits.
that said touch me at somepoint defeated one of the 9 and took over and is the highest ranking player in terms of pvp ranking iirc... or at the very least in the top 10 ~~
you could only lose the rank special held tournaments, and each world champion was gifted a unique piece of equipment, and also could learn a unique skill called "world break".
@@GunRunner106 I dont recall world champion being mentioned as an inherited class, only world disaster.
Also, touch me competed in the tournament to earn the class, he didnt just steal it
@@-Apoptos-correct, the title can only be got through those special tournaments. taken and lost.
I love how this fight really shows his skills as a player. He planned out every big beat of the battle before it started. His immense knowledge of the mechanics and her abilities, his PvP experience, and his tactical mind (and ridiculous library of spells; he actually knows _waaayyy_ more spells than most casters from the game thanks to an ability) let him put together a plan to beat an opponent who was practically designed to counter him. He was known in the game to have a pretty unoptimized role-play build instead of a power build, but he was also skilled as a tactician and frequently surprised opponents in the second and third rounds of best-of-three PvP matches. Shalltear had the misfortune of him already knowing everything he needed to jump straight to round 3.
that final scene when momonga says to activate gargantua and get victim, takes technically place after like ep 3~4 or so of the 2nd seasons~
Aura, whom Shalltear calls "Shorty," is a beast tamer, and one of her skills is the ability to enchant her breath to inflict various status conditions (which has a range of two kilometers; that's some strong breath). Ainz hesitated to use the cash-shop item to reduce the cast time of Fallen Down (the super tier magic), and Shalltear was going to land her attack, so Aura used her Fear Breath on Shalltear. As an undead, Shalltear is immune to the "fear" condition, but she still felt the skill being used on her before her immunity kicked in, causing her to flinch, which gave Ainz time to overcome his hesitation and use the item to complete his spell.
It wasnt that her immunity didnt kick in yet, Aura's breath is able to inflict fear on undead with her skills
Ah amazing!
At around the 20:00 mark, you were confused by the exchange where Ainz says that there's no need to clean up the fight area. He then data the sealing crystal destroys a large area when it's used (then immediately explains that what he just said is a lie).
If you remember back to before the fight, he showed an 8th tier sealing crystal to the guild members as his trump card for winning the fight against Shalltear.
He's implying that because that level of magic is the stuff of myths in this world, everyone would believe the lie that using such a sealing crystal would destroy the area without questioning it.
The reason one of the twins even suggested cleaning it up was to keep his the power level of him and Shalltear under wraps. But because he can easily sell the lie that it was the crystal (which he never even used), they have the perfect explanation for the destruction.

This post about the floors and floor guardians is made in the spirit of fun discussion. It contains no spoilers to the animated series. It will be split into multiple parts due to its length. It ended up being way longer than I first anticipated, but I’ve tried to keep each section short and interesting.
Now that we are at the end of season one, let’s take a refresher on the Tomb of Nazarick and the floor guardians we know about so far. We still haven’t met loads of the NPCs who call Nazarick home, so we won’t be talking about ones that haven’t had their screen time yet, or who haven’t been showcased enough for us to know them or their abilities. I urge the comment section to exercise caution in any discussions, since arcs in seasons 2-4 will obvious reveal a good deal naturally. We will, however, add some knowledge that the anime never includes.
*The Tomb of Nazarick*
To begin with, the Tomb itself wasn’t actually built from scratch by the guild Ainz Ooal Gown. It was originally a level 80 dungeon that the developers hid in the poisonous swamps in the realm of Helheim. It was a Simultaneous Attack Dungeon, which was the hardest type of dungeon to raid in the game, intended for at least 5 different parties to tackle at once. The newly formed, small guild of Ainz Ooal Gown managed to defeating all 5 raid bosses swiftly and clear the dungeon on their first try. Since they did it all in one go, they were awarded the world item, Throne of Kings.
They then claimed the dungeon as their new home base. The developers allowed this, because they wanted to give players as much freedom to customize the game world as possible. The guild started rebuilding and expanding the dungeon.
Each floor now has multiple “areas” that often have their own guardians. In addition to the area guardians, the whole floor has a primary floor guardian. We haven’t seen most of the areas yet, so we will be careful talking about them. We will talk a bit more at the end of each season.
It’s also worth noting at this time that many personality traits were inherited by the NPCs from their creators. When they became self-aware after being transported to the New World, it’s these inherited traits that tend to guide them. Also, NPCs divide their levels between job classes. For instance, a lvl 100 NPC might have 25 levels in Dark Crusader, 20 levels in Racial Abilities: Demon, 15 levels in Bodyguard, and divide the remaining 40 levels between a dozen remaining job classes. All together it makes them a lvl 100 character, and sometimes they only have 1 lvl in a job just so they have access to a specific skill. The guild wanted to design their NPCs with a very specific build in mind. When I list the job classes of NPCs in the following section, I only listed their major jobs that give you an idea of their builds.
*Floors 1-3: Grave*
_Some Known Areas:_ The Black Capsule, guarded by a character we haven’t met yet. Grave Vault of Adipocere, Shalltear’s personal quarters.
_Prime Guardian:_ Shalltear Bloodfallen. _Race:_ Level 100 True Vampire. _Job Class:_ Valkyrie, Cursed Knight
The first three floors of Nazarick are the smallest. Combined together, they cover about the same area as each of the lower floors, which is one reason they all share one Floor Guardian. Given their size and simplicity, the catacomb hallways of these floors can be easily repaired at low cost if damaged during enemy raids.
Shalltear often patrols these floors and checks in with the area guardians. Her job classes, which are in direct conflict, was the result of a lot of work on the part of the guild. As such, she is very strong in both magic and melee. She can wipe out any unbalanced party of non-maxed players on her own using whatever specialty is best suited for the situation. Her dark and holy magics, as well as her powerful pipet lance that could restore her health while striking down individual enemies, meant that only well-balanced parties of max level players can overcome her to progress further into Nazarick. Shalltear’s creator had a love of hentai adult games and imbued Shalltear with a number of unsavory traits, including a fetish for necrophila, which is why she sees Ainz, an undead Lich, as the greatest target of her affections.
*Floor 4: Underground Lake*
_Prime Guardian:_ Gargantua. Details not yet revealed in show.
This floor is a huge lake contained within a massive cavern. Nothing much is known yet about this floor’s areas. The guardian was one of the two floor guardians that Ainz did not include in the emergency meeting right after the tomb was transported into the New World. When the guild originally conquered the tomb, the first raid boss they defeated was a giant white bat on this floor.
*Floor 5: Glacier*
_Some Known Areas:_ Frozen Prison, where captured enemies are held, and also the domain of Nazarick’s chief information gatherer, (torturer). Snowball Earth, the personal residence of Cocytus.
_Prime Guardian:_ Cocytus. _Race:_ Level 100 Insectoid Vermin Lord. _Job Class:_ Sword Saint, Knight of Niflheim
This floor is a wide area containing numerous icebergs, dense clouds, and often snowstorms. The floor also used to have a harsh terrain penalty that caused a slowness status effect and constant ice damage, but the effect was turned off after the tomb was transported because it was expensive in resources to maintain. When Ainz crushed the religious captain from the Slane Theocracy that was attacking the village, he was actually brought here and tortured for information.
Cocytus is the ultimate warrior, in that he always takes every fight seriously, no matter what level the opponent might be. He often wields multiple weapons at once in his multiple insectoid arms. He constantly studies battles in an effort to better his own understanding of tactics and combat. He was created to understand weapons of all kinds, and be a master in their usage. When he defeats an opponent, he often claims their weapon for his own to add to his collection. If an enemy really impressed him with their resolve, honor and spirit, he sometimes saves their bodies in ice and keeps them, not so much as a trophy, but to ensure their remains are respected.
*Floor 6: Jungle*
_Some Known Areas:_ Amphitheater, a colosseum where death matches can be fought. Field of Flowers, a meadow where plant-type monsters collected from the outside world are raised. Gigantic Tree, Aura’s and Mare’s personal quarters.
_Prime Guardians:_ Aura and Mare Bella Fiore. _Race:_ Level 100 Dark Elves. _Job Class:_ Ranger, Beast Tamer and Druid, Disciple of Disaster
At four square kilometers, this is the widest floor in Nazarick. Mostly covered in dense jungle with a lake in the center, the cavern ceiling is 200 meters tall and displays a fake sky that reflects a day and night cycle. There usually isn’t any weather, unless Mare summons rain to water the plants. Whenever we see this floor in the show, it usually is at the amphitheater.
Aura, the older twin sister, is dressed in a boyish fashion. She often quarrels with Shalltear, but in truth, only really does so because her creator and Shalltear’s creator were siblings IRL, and so the two feel that it’s generally expected for them to quarrel. Aura actually cares a lot about Shalltear, in a true sisterly fashion, as evidenced by the worry she expressed for the vampire when she was lost to mind control. Aura is a collector, wanting to add any new interesting beasts that she finds to her stable of creatures in the jungle. Because of her control over beasts, she has a wide variety of fearsome monsters she can unleash in a fight. Oddly, though, despite her mastery of beast taming, she has a fear of insects and tries to avoid insect-like monsters. She seems fine around Cocytus though, but perhaps that’s because his manner is very stately and not ‘creepy’.
Mare, the younger twin brother, is dressed in a girlie fashion. Shy and almost cowardly at times, Mare is actually far more complicated that it seems on the surface. The mannerisms he puts on is more an act than reality. He treasures the uniqueness he was given by his creator and will defend it when anyone questions it. He is usually more comfortable alone and spends most of his free time reading books from Nazarick’s library. Like his sister, he is also a collector, but of different plant species which he brings back to the jungle. Being a Druid, his powers mostly revolve around earth magics.
2/3
*Floor 7: Lava*
_Some Known Areas:_ River of Lava, guarded by a character we haven’t met yet. Blazing Temple, Demiurge’s personal quarters.
_Prime Guardian:_ Demiurge. _Race:_ Level 100 Demon Arch-Devil. _Job Class:_ Prince of Darkness, Shapeshifter
This floor is mostly about flowing lava, constantly bubbling and bursting. When the guild conquered the dungeon, this floor originally had a raid boss that was a lightning breathing dragon. Since being captured, this area was redesigned to allow Demiurge to make best use of his abilities.
Demiurge is the NPC in charge of defenses during an enemy raid. He is also 2nd in command in general, behind Albedo. It’s hard to see because of his glasses, but he has no eyeballs. Instead, he has multi-cut jewels in his eye sockets. Being a demon, he was programmed to have a cruel attitude, and is generally considered one of the cruelest residents of Nazarick. However, this is only directed at outsiders. He treats his friends and fellow Nazarick denizens with genuine kindness. He is a skilled schemer and strategist. Since he believes that Ainz wants to conquer the world, he devotes much of his resources to cooking up plans to ally, subvert, or dominate other nations. He also believes that Ainz is vastly superior to him in all regards, so any plans he makes is obviously just part of what Ainz’s grand scheme is already expecting him to do.
*Floor 8: Wilderness*
_Some Known Areas:_ Cherry Blossom Sanctuary, personal quarters of a character we probably won’t see in the anime. Sephiroth, personal quarters of Victim.
_Primary Guardian:_ Victim. Details not yet revealed in show.
Victim was the other floor guardian not summoned by Ainz during the emergency meeting after the tomb was transported to the New World.
This floor is actually Nazarick’s final line of defense. If it falls, the guild believed that the tomb would not be able to avoid defeat by the enemy raid. It houses the most powerful NPCs in Nazarick, of whom not even Albedo knows about. Home to a group known only as ‘The Heirarchy’. None of the NPCs know what’s on the 8th floor, and Ainz has issued orders that no one is to enter it. Secret paths were set up so the NPCs could travel around the floor when they need to move about the tomb. The NPCs believe that the residents of the 8th floor were created in order to eliminate them if they ever turned against their creators.
The largest ever raid against Nazarick was stopped at the 8th floor. For a quick story about that, along with my own personal theory about the 8th floor, go to the very bottom of this comment(s).
*Floor 9: Royal Suite*
_Some Known Areas:_ Numerous.
_Prime Guardian:_ No official guardian.
Since the 8th floor is the actual make-or-break defense line for Nazarick, the 9th floor is just the personal quarters and general playground of the 41 guild members. It has no official guardian, but Ainz said that if it did, it would be the head butler Sebas, whose power is comparable to a floor guardian’s.
Areas in this floor include, Round Table Room (conference room for the 41), a bar, a spa resort, a casino, the kitchens, a theater for putting on stage plays, a maid cafe created by the Pleiades Battle Maids, a court house, a funeral home, a harem room where Albedo makes Ainz pillows, a quiz room for trivia tournaments, a water park, a Shinto shrine created as a joke, and many other oddball areas. Most of these areas were purely decorative and made for the amusement of the guild (nobody actually needed bedrooms inside a game). However, when the tomb was transported, all of these areas became fully functional in accordance with their purposes.
It also contains most of the personal quarters of NPCs who aren’t area or floor guardians. The Pleiades Battle Maids have their rooms here, the rest of the tomb’s maid staff (because the Pleiades actually suck at maidwork), and a number of other specialist NPCs.
*Floor 10: Throne Room*
_Some Known Areas:_ Throne Hall, where the Throne of Kings world item sits. Ashurbanipal, the tomb’s massive library.
_Prime Guardian:_ No official guardian.
Again, this floor has no official guardian. Ainz has said that if it did, it would be Albedo. The Throne Hall is at the lowest point of the tomb and marks where Ainz makes any proclamations he has to make as the overlord. The library is where all kinds of books, book-like items and scrolls are stored. It’s guarded by 5 level 75 NPCs, and is also capable of manufacturing magic scrolls.
Albedo acts as the chief overseer of the tomb, overseeing the duties of all the other guardians. She is a level 100 Demon Succubus with the powers to ensnare the minds of those males she wishes. Unfortunately for her, she only has eyes for Ainz, who as an undead has no libido. She also has a unusual secret that involves a unicorn, but that will play out in a future season, so keep your eyes out for it. Her job classes include Guardian and Dark Knight, which means she is a tank character. She can soak up a huge amount of damage in order to protect her master, as seen in the first encounter with the Slane Theocracy when she stepped in front of Ainz to shield him from unknown magic.
*Treasury*
_Prime Guardian:_ Pandora’s Actor. _Race:_ Level 100 Greater Doppleganger. _Job Class:_ Expert, Craftsman, Lord of the Castle
The treasury seems to exist in its own isolated space separate from the tomb’s floors. It can only be teleported into by someone wearing a guild ring. In addition to the vast wealth collected by the guild, it also contains golems made in the likeness of Ainz’s departed 40 guild friends. The golems seem to be equipped with the legendary gear sets his friends passed on to him when they quit the game. Also, this is where most of the 11 world items the guild collected are usually stored, 2 of which are part of “the twenty”, but details on those items have not been revealed yet, even in the novels.
Pandora’s Actor was created by Ainz himself, or rather by Momonga. When he made PA, Momonga was going through a flamboyant semi-emo stage, which he now cringes to look back on. PA has the power to transform himself into any of the 41 guild members, complete with their powers and skills (mostly). Even if he duplicates a target’s skills and magic, he can’t perform any super tier magic that they might know, probably because super tier magic requires xp instead of mp. This makes him the ultimate treasury guardian, since he can become any guild member he needs to for a given situation. However, at the end of the day, he is still an NPC, and as such, actions that require guild authorization wouldn’t work for him. He can’t wield the guild staff, for instance. PA isn’t limited to just the guild members though. If he wanted to, he could imitate any of the floor guardians or even normal humans outside the tomb. While he can imitate the guild members and even fool the Nazarick denizens, it seems he is unable to ever fool an NPC with an image of their own creator. He always gets sussed out if he tries because an NPC instinctively can recognize their own creator. Despite his flamboyant manner, he is often considered one of the most intelligent NPCs in the tomb.

*Pleiades Battle Maids:*
The Pleiades are a group of fighters modeled after maids, under the command of the tomb’s butler. They were never really meant to be part of the tomb’s defense against other players. Basically, their purpose was to fight any players that somehow made it past the 8th floor and buy some time until the guild’s members could organize a last ditch desperation defense in the Throne Hall.
_Leader:_ Sebas Tian.
As the head butler of Nazarick, he actually has several other servants under his command, but he is most prominently the head of the maid staff as well. Specifically, he heads up the Pleiades. Very little has been revealed about Sebas in season one, so let’s just note this for now: he is level 100, he specializes in unarmed combat, and occasionally one of his eyes turns black. His race might not ever be revealed in the anime, but there is a chance it might be in the final seasons, so let’s just confirm that he isn’t human.
_1st Pleiades:_ Yuri Alpha.
The second in command, and generally the leader when Sebas isn’t there. Traits not yet revealed in the show.
_2nd Pleiades:_ Lupisregina Beta
Traits not yet revealed in the show.
_3rd Pleiades:_ Narberal Gamma (Nabe)
While appearing as human, Narberal is actually a level 63 doppleganger. However, unlike Pandora’s Actor, all of her levels were spent building up her stats in fighter and magic caster job classes, and none of them were spent on her racial abilities. This means that, sadly, she is a doppleganger than can’t transform. It’s possible she would have been given more levels and improved, but the tomb was already at its max limit for allowed NPC levels. When guild members stopped playing and leaving, there wasn’t anyone to buy more cash shop level limit upgrades. She dislikes humans in general and doesn’t like being around them. The other Pleiades are actually somewhat jealous of her because she gets to spend so much time traveling with Ainz when he is disguised as the Raven Black Hero Momon.
_4th Pleiades:_ CZ2128 Delta
Traits not yet revealed in the show.
_5th Pleiades:_ Solution Epsilon
Solution is a level 57 Predator Slime with some job class skills as an assassin and a specialty in poisons. Unlike Narberal, most of her levels were spent on her racial skills as a slime. She can absorb items, even people, to protect them and spit them back out later. Or she can digest them. As a slime, she’s immune to most physical damage, making her a real problem for non-magic users. She can produce poisons that she can inject with her fingers that can cause several effects, but can also have medicinal applications in the right circumstances too. After all, if any medicine can be a poison, then lots of poisons can also be a medicine. Like Narberal, she has a low opinion of humans, and the two of them are generally the most dangerous to put out into human company as a result.
_6th Pleiades:_ Entoma Vasilisa Zeta
Traits not yet revealed in show.
_Secret Pleiades:_ Unnamed
The author of Overlord has basically stated that not all characters will be getting screen time, or even much time in the novels. This character was heavily hinted at, so she probably won’t ever show up in the anime. Even so, I think she is worth mentioning, but I’ll keep this vague. This Pleiades is, in truth, the real leader of the Battle Maids, but spends all her time on the 8th floor in the Cherry Blossom Sanctuary. Most things about her are unknown, except for two things. When Ainz has to leave Nazarick to go out into the world, he doesn’t put the guild staff into the treasury. He instead gives it to her, feeling she is the only NPC he can trust to protect it. Also, she is the only human NPC in the entire tomb.
*The Largest Raid In Nazarick’s History:*
The largest raid was made after repeated attempts to crush Ainz Ooal Gown’s base failed. Eight guilds came together to form an alliance, the union of eight guilds. The number of combined players and powerful mercenary NPCs hired for the job was around 1,500. They attacked the tomb, fought their way through the floors, defeated all the floor guardians, area guardians, armies of undead monsters spawned by the dungeon, powerful monsters summoned to join the battle, and even Ainz Ooal Gown guild members. By the time they got to the 8th floor, half of them were exhausted with no mp remaining.
Then they entered the 8th floor.
Afterward, recordings of what happened from defeated players began circulating. Players all over the game watched and started screaming, “That’s impossible!” Thousands of messages flooded the developers, demanding to know if Ainz Ooal Gown had made ‘illegal constructs’. The devs assured everyone that no rules had been broken. But no one raided Nazarick after that. Even the largest guild avoided them, and grumbled bitterly about ‘cheats’.
*My Theory On The 8th Floor:*
This is purely my own theory, and could be wildly wrong. I think the guild figured out how to use game mechanics in their favor. What I think they did is, when they took over the tomb to be their base, they kept the original raid bosses that had respawned. When ownership of the tomb was officially the guild’s, then the loyalty of the raid bosses became theirs as well.
I think that, mechanically, dungeon raid bosses don’t have a specific level. I think the difficulty of a raid boss is that it is 10 times stronger than the monsters in its territory. The tomb was originally classified as a level 80 dungeon. If it was full of level 50 undead monsters, and level 60 mini bosses, then the only parties that could beat the raid bosses that were 10 times stronger would need to be at least level 80. Thus, it would be classified as a level 80 dungeon.
But, if the monsters inside the dungeon became stronger, then, because of the mechanic, the raid boss would get stronger as well to maintain the 10 times stronger power. Remember, all the NPCs in Nazarick are monsters by race. I think that every time the guild created a new NPC that was linked to Nazarick, the original raid bosses each added power equal to 10 times that NPC’s strength. So that means these 5 bosses are now equal in power to their original selves, plus 10 times the power of the rest of Nazarick’s NPCs combined. Since they are raid bosses, they don’t have a level cap. They aren’t custom NPCs that were created by players, and thus aren’t restricted by the normal rules of maximum level limits. The guild didn’t create them, so they aren’t illegal constructs. They just found a way to get non-custom NPCs to act as base guardians, then boosted their power just by understanding the way the game mechanics were programmed.
That’s my theory, which could be totally wrong. There’s other theories out there about the 8th floor.
Thank you very much for your devotion! I would only correct that Pleiades are bad at conventional maid chores. The cheeky ones they've got covered :). @@Dan_Geer_

16:25 Shalltear was really hoping that the resurrection would have 'buffed' her in certain areas lmao.
Hey, wall of text here:
0:10 "Denied"
0:22 Tsk... Pre-watched again huh..
1:19 The OST? surely you mean OxT!
5:08 By the way did you notice that each of the different equipment names are written on the different ice cream sticks?
8:29 yeah. Say sorry to our "Lord Overlord Mr Skeleton Big Dong"
9:30 The sister in mention is the female player named Bukubuku Chagama who works as a voice actress; is the creator of the elf twins Aura and Mare; she is the real life sister of another player named Peronron-chino who is Momonga's good in-game friend and also Shalltear's creator. The alarm clock voice from the watch Momonga /Ains is wearing is voiced by her.
10:56 in case you didn't notice the eyeball background behind Shalltear is a taunt distraction from the elf twin older sister Aura to distract Shalltear for a moment so that Ains can activate his cash-shop item to insta-cast the super-tier spell.
11:22 "Shorty" is the derogatory nickname Shalltear calls Aura by.
11:29 And here you can see that Aura was blowing out some purple smoke (implying the earlier taunt she casted on Shalltear at 10:56) (its probably the same taunt that she used on Hamusuke the giant Hamster when she provoke it out of the den)
11:55 and there we go, the proof of pre-watch 😏
16:47 Here you see that Aura is scolding Shalltear (the NPCs are like the "figurative personification" of their creator); so its like the elder sister Bukubuku Chagama (creator of Aura) scolding her little brother Peronron-chino (creator of Shalltear) (by the way Mare the younger twin male elf is Bukubuku Chagama's way of mocking her younger brother)
20:04 the battlefield used to be a forest until Ains casted his spell/skill: "The goal of all life is Death" + (Widen Magic) Cry of the Banshee to widen the area of effect and it kills everything in 100 meters. That's why this episode started in a desert like environment because all life including plants died after that spell. Remember the crystal that Momon (Ain's adventurer alter ego) was showing to the Guild Master when talking about how to take down Shalltear (Honyopenyoko)?
20:29 So the cover story will be the crystal was destroyed during the battle and a large uncontrolled power was released and destroyed the forest.
21:04 Ains has a skill to create undead from corpses and Human corpses can only be re-animated at best up to a level 40 strength undead (probably with some variation in levels based on the strength of the human when it was alive) (note that Ains and floor guardians are all level 100 in comparison). So corpses of other races may have different upper limit potential when re-animated into an undead.
22:36 Scriptures are like the Theocracy State's combat/military units. Black Scripture is their strongest elite combat unit.
22:42 Here explains how Shalltear was mindcontrolled (incompletely) with the World item called: "Downfall of Castle and Country".
22:56 Here calls back to the first few episodes where the Ains saved the Carne village from a guy call Nigun and his army(Sunlit Scripture Unit). The Theocracy state still can't find out what happened to him. Recall that Ains broke the surveillance spell the Theocracy had on him. Next they mention the Windflower Scripture Unit is chasing the traitor (Clementine) whos stole one of their prized equipment the Crown of Wisdom (that Ains destroyed to save the Potion maker guy). o the Theocracy are abit short-handed now to investigate the Shalltear's Battle.
24:39 Actually that's her default maid outfit. (She's part of the Pleiades Battle Maid Squad so of course she will have a maid costume) She's a slime by the way (not a zombie) as shown when she consumed the horse carriage driver into her chest.
11:23 Shaltear knew it was Mare that Distracted her @ 10:57 before Shaltear could take out the cash item @10:54 which could made her win the battle。
Shaltear was insulting Mare (to let us know that she knew how she got defeated)
11:55 i call 🐂 on the "PreWatchers" callers and give False meanings of PRE-GUESSERs continue to Hate watch.
22:55 Nigun is the Necromancer that Naberal Gama Defeated. don't think he was with sunlit since he left and went to hiding for his Undead Research. hence why Clementine looked for him.
@-.-Time.Stamp_
1st point, Shalltear knew who was distracting her and called that person "Shorty". That person refers to Aura the elder sister between the 2 twin elves. Mare is the younger brother of Aura.
2nd point. we know Luke can guess really well the plot of the show sometimes and when he is spot-on, we tease him by calling him "pre-watch". (its abit of an inside joke) Its not hating on him. That's why there is a "smirk face" at my 11:55 comment. It's a tease.
3rd point, if you search Nigun in the fandom page, you will see that the he is the captain of the Sunlit scripture from the Slane Theocracy. The Necromancer that Naberal Gamma defeated is called Khajiit.
11:54, Just before Shaltear died, Aura cast a spell on her, that is the two eyes that appear behind Shaltear just before Ainz magic hit her, making her drew her attention from Ainz for a moment, so Ainz have enough time to cast the last magic spell. Shaltear in the last moment realised what Aura doing, that's why she called "Shorty", the way she always called Aura before.
The people in the temple area at the end talking about scriptures were talking about the things that happened in the past episodes, Nigun was the guy that attacked the village in the first couple eps, the shaman princess with the crown is the crown that Clementine had the hair face kid wear in the graveyard fight area
did he not realize everything turned to sand before of "the goal of all life is death" skill killing everything including vegetation
And we come to the end of the season. Congrats friend!
As I mentioned in the previous comment, Ainz's entire battle was based on the strategy of killing Shalltear twice, because she had a resurrection item. Furthermore, he had to make her recklessly spend all those unique “Skills” that could have saved her if she had saved them until the end. Before the climax of the battle Ainz only has enough magic left to cast 3 or maybe 4 spells and so Shalltear thought that she had already won, but they quickly changed things to something to do with the Ygddrassil game.
When one created a character and then wanted to change it, he could only lose several battles and levels to rebuild the parts he wanted or directly create a new account. All of this was extremely tedious for level 100 players who had become mages and wanted to try out the warrior class for a while, but only for a short time. The "Perfect Warrior" spell was a solution to that problem. Allows you to convert all mage levels to the warrior class and use equipment that you would not normally be able to use. When Ainz wears it, he can use Touchme's armor without problems, although he cannot use any other magic in return.
For this battle Ainz used many Cash Items, more than ever in his entire life. Each of the sticks he broke allowed him to automatically store and equip his teammates' weapons. Especially the bow was what surprised Shalltear the most, because it is the favorite weapon of her creator.
At the end there is a strange phenomenon where Shalltear sees something like an eye on her back. To explain this I have to go back to the beginning of chapter 1, where they explain Aura Bella Fiora's abilities in the light novel. The dark elf's breath can cause various effects, most notably fear. Aura can use her breath at great distances to terrify others, especially creatures in order to tame them.
Naturally a vampire like Shalltear has resistance to these effects, but she probably doesn't have complete immunity. Therefore, instead of fear, what she feels is that there is "something dangerous" behind her and thus she is distracted long enough for Ainz to finish breaking his last Cash Item. We see a very small fragment in which Aura is exhaling a kind of purple wind, which is precisely her Fear ability, the same one that we saw Aura use against Hamsuke to provoke him in chapter 7.
Resurrection magic is performed using spells or wands. In players, the penalty for reviving was losing some levels. But the NPCs are not players and can be resurrected with money, lots and lots of money. Good thing Ainz decided to save it!
Well, that would be it. Thank you for following this series and I hope you continue with the next season! Overlord is a series that only gets better!
Shalltear was referring to aura again when she said „Shorty“. If you noticed that wird eye at the end of the fight and wondered what that is, it was something like an illusion that trapped her, created by aura using a world item, so that shalltear can’t hit Ainz in the last second
Idt it was by the world item right?
If I remember correctly it was one of Auras skills from the beast tamer class that normaly pulls aggro from an enemy when used. She did not use the world item.
@@silbernehand_ possible, I was not sure while writing
There's a good reason Ainz is so skilled with his weapons actually.
If you remember back when he fought Clementine he said something along the lines of "I'm learning a lot, the existence of martial arts, and the importance of balancing your attacks" During his fight with her he had every advantage, he was stronger, he had the better gear, but she had actual skill with her weapons and that let her avoid each of his strikes. The fight made him realize where he still had room for improvement, and hes practiced his skills in martial combat.
Alright, so! Equipment time!
Touch Me's armor is called Compliance with Law, and was given to him after he won a PvP tournament that also gifted him his World Champion class.
Takemikazuchi Hachishiki is the weapon used by Warrior Takemikazuchi, the supreme being who created Cocytus. Its called Hachishiki because its the 8th version of the weapon, which was Warrior Takemikazuchi's passion project to try and defeat Touch Me.
The twin daggers are called Amaterasu & Tsukuyomi. They were originally used by Nishikienrai, who was the creator of Narberal Gamma/Nabe.
The purple gauntlets are called Female Sensei's Iron Fist of Wrath. They were originally used by Yamaiko, who was the creator of Yuri Alpha and one of the three female members of AOG. They have extreme knockback abilities and can share the effect with other equipment the user has equipped.
Houyi's Bow was the weapon used by Peroronchino, the creator of Shalltear (hence her much more extreme reaction to it than the other weapons).
Blood Sucking Meat Devourer was actually called "Suck the Blood and Eat the Flesh" in the light novels, though it is unknown as to which supreme being actually used it.
Ainz: Fights Shalltear
Also Ainz: Lecture time!!!
You saw who used the world item a few episodes back. It was the old woman with the chinese dress who Shalltear attacked while she was in bloodlust. She killed her as the mind control took effect.
Yep. Since the caster died in Shalltear's attack as she was casting it, there was no one who could control Shalltear, so she was basically stuck in a default self-defense mode. This defense mechanism was activated when Ainz started the fight last season by directly hitting shalltear with a spell.
22:12 I don't think it's normal, but Overlord is break our mind and seeing whatever Nazarick does is just OK, Wow, Cool 😅 At first we were shocked too by how brutal this anime was, or how evil Nazarick treated the people of the New World, and as the time goes by I just thought let's just enjoy the show without realizing I fully supported Nazarick's plan to conquer the world:D

nice season finale, seing you enjoy it so much is a real breath of fresh air man. hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the show.
I really like the scene at the end of the floor guardians argueing and it flashing to Momonga's old guild mates, their creators.
Momonga was pulled into this world with no real understanding of why or how and all he has is the people of Nazarik but his friends are long gone.
But they can only comfort him so much, no one really understand his lonelyness of longing to see his comrades again (except the old Druid Clem killed).
But the floor guardians were all made with love and care by the guild members, so each one carries the traits of their creator, so in a way it is like they are his old comrades, but not quite, more like their children. Momonga was just realizing that fully after seeing them argue like old times sake. Its such a sad and beautiful little scene but really means a lot for Momonga's emotional investment going forward. Hes just a sad and lonely Bone Daddy.
Really glad your enjoying it so far. It's a interesting story and the characters, including side characters, are flushed well. Always happy to see others get into it.
Luke’s laugh when ainz showed off his armour had me giddy exactly the same way (one of my fave moments of overlord) 😂 can’t wait for season 2!! I think u will enjoy the other guardians we haven’t met yet…
Great reaction Luke!
Not as much hanging in confusion, pausing and asking questions 😂
Thanks 🙏 I’m looking forward to you seeing the seasons progress 😁
Explanation on that "post credit scene" (no spoilers): The Black Scripture are the guys full-vampire mode Shalltear encountered back in Episode 10, The Downfall of Castle and Country is the glowing dress, the World-Item that mind-controlled Shalltear, as mentioned the holder was injured too badly to give any orders, and they retreated. Nigun is the unfortunate dude who encountered Ainz back in episode 4, the guy with the angels, we know what happened to him. The traitor who stole the Crown of Wisdom is Clementine, we also know what happened to her.
Ainz isn't aware that the World-Item holder was critically injured and that's why Shalltear wasn't left with orders, which is why he's constantly looking for a trap.
If you go back to episode 10 at the end of the episode there was an old woman who launched an attack at shalltear, that was the person who used the world class item(im assuming it was the clothes she was wearing) on shalltear and mind controlled her but she managed to attack them back and kill them and thats why shalltear was left standing there cause no one was there to give orders.
the shorty that Shaltear mention is Aura and Bukubukuchagama is Peperencino elder sister that makes Shaltear and The Elven Twins kinda like siblings
“Albedo’s a bit of a genius” and that’s why she’s the leader of the floor guardians. Like ainz, she leads thru intellect not pure power.
Also. When shalltear said shorty she was on about aura. (They’re creators Bukubukuchagama and Peroroncino were brother and sister)
Due to the creators being brother and sister their creations squabble like the brother and sister did
When u see that eye above shalltear during the fight, it’s actually aura’s fear spell which was used because ainz hesitated to kill shalltear which aura noticed. This gave ainz more time to pull of his super tier magic
Also the reason the mind control wasn’t complete was due to shalltear killing the world item holder at the same time - leaving it so that she didn’t have any orders.
The slane theocracy (black scripture faction) are the ones that attacked shalltear as u have probably figured out and the slane theocracy as a whole have pretty much been the cause of most things in this season.
- sunlight scripture led by Nigun was the one that attacked carne village and are dead.
Luke doesnt need to know this info yet about who is stronger. All he needs to know rn is what is revealed that the Black scripture exists and its suggested that its the Slane Theocracy that was behind the attack.
@@theculturedgentleman3699 ok cool. I’ve taken it out. I went overboard cuz I get carried away 😂
@@atomicaaron6720 no problem 😉
Look how luke is so happy to know that we get to revive the crazy vampire
It's important to realize that momonga having an undead avatar in this world had his emotion basically "die" (even if he somehow gets emotional he gets forcibly calmed down, you can see it when he started cursing when he learned what happened to shaltear).
On top of that the expectation of the denizens of nazarik push him even more towards the evil side.
This all coumpounds into having him be quite evil (although there are many denizens much more evil than him)
PS : The people who brainwashed shaltear used a world item to do it (downfall of castle and country as stated by the dude), doesnt mean they are strong or weak, they just have an item that has the ability to cast a mind control that cannot be resisted, they may have other strength or weaknesses besides that but they belong to the same group that used angels at the start of the show (they are mentionned by that same dude, the "sunlit scripture". Finally the 3rd group they mentioned was chasing a traitor that stole the crown of wisdom, this is the necromancer that momonga defeated)
So basically all their problems are with Nazarik but they don't know it yet xD.
Okay, so the Black Scripture is one of the Six scriptures of the Slain theocracy. Ainz fought with another scripture in episode 4 under leadership of Nigun, who they are looking for. Also, the Traitor reffers to Clementine who Ainz devastated in episode 9.
There are many unique characters within the Tomb of Nazarick that haven't been introduced yet, and there are some that scare, disturb, or bother Momonga/Ains. However, Victim and Gargantua are not some of them, and it is more a matter that they have very specialized skillsets that they bring to the table (they are not for everyday use). We will be meeting them among others, but some of the details can pass by really quickly. It is a common theme in Overlord that details can be easily missed, and explanations can often be given to Momonga/Ainz directly without him understanding the ramifications of what was just heard.
This is a series where it might not be out of the ordinary to host a live-chat with subscribers/patrons to get the answers to questions needed, with the important caveat of starting each question with: is it a spoiler to find out more about subject X? Many subjects have been explained up to this point and go by really fast. Others have been fully explained in extra panels of the light novel up to the current point but are never covered in the show to the same degree (or at all). Still others rely on a common knowledge base of the inspirational influences used in creating Overlord (such as Dungeons & Dragons, or multiplayer online games that involve large, coordinated events like raiding instances and dungeons. It's not so much that the writer expects a reader to know these topics, but is more likely not interested in making endless exposition dumps that can plague similar shows. The show can be enjoyed without knowing everything, especially since the author has put a finite limit on how much Overlord will be written and that the ending will be a resolution built to satisfy the creator, but not necessarily the fans.
If you rewatch the scene where shaltear gets mind controlled, you would notice she sent of a ranger attack at the caster who used the world item to mind control her, as such, the person who mind controlled her died, and could not give her any commands, so she went in to default: do nothing, except self preservation mode (ie attack whoever attacks you)
All Hail Ainz Ooal Gown! GJ for completing S1! Shalltear’s existential problem is the most important. Don’t you worry, Ainz sees 10000 years ahead, he is master planner and also he did not forget about the punishment…
For reference, Touch Me was World Champion of PvP in the game, the highest ranked PvPer, which allowed him to get that armor. I love that his name was a literal challenge to all players, "Touch Me, if you can."
There are 9 world champions and he was just one of them. He wasnt the highest ranked
it will get darker and darker on each next seasons.
as overlord novel fans, its feels really good watching u love this series and learn details that not been explained in anime.
7:41 Very much so. Albedo and Demiurge's intelligence scores are max.
9:33 The watch called Ainz Big Brother. It's a term of endearment. They aren't actually family.
11:54 He is death personified and has mentioned resurrection magic multiple times. He only said he didn't know if it would work on them.
20:25 Ainz as his adventuring persona already set up he was going to use an 8th tier magic crystal against the vampire at the Adventuring guild. So the destruction will be proof of that.
25:21 They weren't enemies. They battled in a tournament and Brain lost. So he improved his skills to try and defeat him in the future. Not out of hate, but just a rivalry.
Well if the spell was complete they'd have had full control over her. Meaning she wouldn't have been left standing out in a field. She'd have been taken back to the church and used as a weapon. As you saw they realized the spell wasn't finished and couldn't risk attacking her or they'd have gotten it worse then Ainz.
Alright some closing bits about Shaltear. Yes she is super powerful as you saw. Which is why her and her forces protect three levels. She is designed to be a raid-boss style encounter. Constantly draining health, firing off spears, reflecting stuff and swarming with her 'family.' Then when you get her down low enough she doubles up. Coupled with her BS revive item that'll put her back to full health. She'd be a nightmare for even a group of players. What makes her particular strong against Ainz though is her elemental type. All that holy damage she can dish out is what makes her a hard counter to Ainz in particular.
After watching an episode of Overlord and then reading trough a comments section is a must 😂
The 10:57 scene and Aura reaction isn't really care in Anime, but in the LN, it was explained
During that last attack, Ainz actually hesitated to kill Shalltear and momentarily paused, and this give Shalltear a chance to land her attack. Normally Ainz would lose, but Aura that watched the battle from afar stopped Shalltear's movement temporarily by using a World Item (the big scroll on his back that was shown on 11:40), this give Ainz enough time to steel himself and finished the spell casting.
On 19:57, when Mare asked Ainz to fix the Forest that was damaged (Ainz pretty much used a big spell that turned a big portion of Forest into desert during his battle against Shalltear) because such thing would attract people's attention, but Ainz told him that it's not necessary because back on Guild, Momon told the Guild leader that he was going to use a "Magic Sealing Crystal" against monster on the forest (Shalltear). But now, he gonna give narrative that he broke the magic crystal and it caused large damage to the forest and wiped the Monster. With that, he got rid of all evidence of that battle, and Momon/Ainz relation with the monster (Shalltear), and also he can give excuse that the Adventurer that come with him (that he killed) got caught in the explosion and died. "Magic Sealing Crystal" is a very rare and precious item, so he's sure that people not gonna risk trying that to find out about his lies.
"he became a murderer" i cant wait untill you reach season 3 💀
👀
Ainz's story near the end about the sealing crystal and the battle remains essentially means that he's gonna lie about the sealing crystal to cover up why the area is so devastated after his battle with Shalltear. He told the guild he had a sealing crystal with 8th tier magic. It's the crystal he took from the Slane Theocracy when they attacked Gazef at the start of the season. This item appears to be very rare in this world. So rather than having Mare use his magic to fix the area somewhat, he'll tell the guild that the sealing crystal was destroyed and that "the magic went wild, causing the destruction", which is a lie, but he's counting on those crystals being rare enough that nobody will test his claim.
Cant wait for season 2 you have great Overlord reactions ! Also that weird girl with that you mention in the maid suit is one of the maid top servants they are a group battle maids, that one in particular is a specialist in bug Magic, her true form well Ill let you see that later.
"overlord skeleton big dong" i like that nickname 😂
also if u can't come to terms/understand why he killed those adventurers or what may or may not happen in the future... remember this here is overlord not slime reincarnation. it's not a happy cute little slime but a scary skeleton with his army of deathknights and op monsters
The eye that appeared in the last spell Ainz used was coming from Aura. She helped him I think. That's why Shalltear said "Shorty". So it's not Ainz complete victory. But who knows if he would have won eighter way but Aura butted in there in the end
I don't know if you just completely blended it out of your mind due to the hype 😂
But where Shalltear and Aibz were fighting turned into a giant wasteland due to Ainz using The Goal of All Life is Death which killed literally everything in the era, including plants etc and created a desert.
This is what Ainz was discussing with Mare in the Throne Room, they were talking about how to hide what happened there.
Nah, this guy just never pays proper attention to what he watches
I tell everyone but noone ever does, make sure to watch the Chibi OVAs of Overlord aswell called Ple ple Pleiades. It's not really canon but some of the lore is. Plus it's super fun and it has an own version of the OP that's just amazing.
Also every season has one mini OVA series aswell in Overlord
11:38 even though Aura says "it's nothing" she actually used a skill to distract Shalltear, the eyeball in her coller.
More to this. The reason she says Its nothing, Its a complete vicotory for Ainz Sama because she does not want to discredit Ainz. She only had to interfere because Ainz Hesitated to break the item that would kill Shaltear. And then Shaltear go the opening to strike Ainz. That Item break was supposed to be quick. But He hesitated to kill Shalter. If not for his hesitation, Ainz would have won fair and sqaure, that why she does not want to mention helping Ainz.
They mention this in some previews.
He even briefly says on an earlier episode,
But there's one thing you're mistaken about, Ainz
Isn't slowly losing his humanity it's completely gone
I won't say all his reasons except the one they alluded to
Touch me saved him when they first met in the game,
And Ainz wants to live up to him. You will see there's a
Reason when he helps someone who is not from Nazarick.
Yes and no . that's what he claimed , but even he get surprised by his own very human reaction (especially anger) at times
Ains is explaining PvP to Shalltear.
Remember - In most MMORPG games, there is no need to deceive an NPC, so you engage an NPC with no deception.
Ains, however, used deception to make Shalltear blow through some of her trump cards, pretending NOT to know, allowing Shalltear to go into 'reckless abandon' which is one of her weaknesses. As he pointed out, he lied about not know about her abilities, again, he was familiar with the Floor Guardian's abilities because he is one of 'the supreme beings' or in this case, a guild member who had a look at her settings, just like how he altered Albedo, he had visibility to Shalltear's core abilities as well as the others.
Also, another weakness of Shalltear is the fact she tends to go 'berserker', which is fine if this was just a simple floor boss fight, but here, Ains is treating this as a PvP fight, and that is often times a bad thing to 'lose your cool' in a pvp fight.
So as you see, he surprises her by those 'strips' earlier. It was all a plan. And also the reason he had to do it versus the other floor guardians. The Floor Guardians are basically NPCs, the simple fact of NPCs is they are unaware of things and in this case, again, she is going off 'what she sees' forgetting that he has been deceiving her.
Remember - Aura/Mare were made by Shalltear's creator's brother. So the 'creator's spirit' inhabits their creations. Just like how Sebas Tian reminded Ains of Touchme, as Touchme was Sebas Tian's creator.
And Ains said, they are like 'his children', or more to the point, the 'children of his friends'.
The 'creepy hair' girl is Entoma, one of the Battle Maidens. You will see more of her later. Just like the others you see in the other scenes.
Again, what happen to Shalltear - Can't tell you yet. But you saw what happen in the episode... Watch it again and you will have an idea. :)
He is explaining the massive damage around the area where 'Hyonpyonko' was fought. The sealing crystal he showed off at the guild, was going to be what Momon used to defeat the vampire.
Remember, he planned to 'reclaim' Shalltear, but he has to hide HOW he we going to recapture.
As you can see in the near end, the Slaine Theocracy was responsible for what happen to Shalltear, in this case, Lady Klaire was casting a spell, only to die before it finished. Hence why Shalltear was just sitting there and not responding.
Lupisregina is another Battle Maid. Solution is also a Battle Maid.
Resurrection, troubleshooting, turn it off and turn it back on, you get to use the last restore point..
💀😱💀
22:08: The simple answer is this: Ainz does not view all lives as having equal value. He doesn't care if someone is innocent or not.
The main reason Ainz saved Nfirea is because the kid already owed him a debt of gratitude, and Ainz didn't want to lose the interest of someone who had such a rare Talent. And the "price" for saving him from Clementine/Khajit was _eveything_ his grandmother had.
If Ainz sees an opportunity to profit from someone else's misfortune, he will not hesitate to do so for Nazarick's benefit.
This conclude on hell of a reaction to one hell of a season of one great show! I hope you'll like the rest of the series just as much, although I'm not sure you'll like a goodchunk of the second season, that's were a lot of people drop it because they do not understand world building...
1- Touch Me's armor was class locked. World Champion is an advanced class in the warrior tree. To explain it properly, I will give an example. If you wanted to be a necromencer, you would start as a mage and then, once you are high level enough, you would unlock the advanced class necromencer. That's the same thing for warrior and World Champions.
2- Ains isn't a mastermind, he is THE mastermind. He makes mistakes, that's for sure, no one is perfect... But, and that's a huge but, even though he was an undead monster and therefor disrespected by the human players, you whould have had a very hard time in the game finding anyone disrespecting his strategist's prowess. The guy litteraly learned about every skills in the games, every items, every piece of equipment (except those player made, those infos weren't exactly available most of the time) and he built the guild's strategies on that enormous mountain of informations. I'm not exactly saying he was the best strategist of the game, but he was easily top 5. The only reason he wasn't extremely good at PvP was because his build wasn't optimised for it, it was an RP build. It means it was easy to counter him. Even though it was easy, he was still feared on the battlefield, just not as much as most of the other guild members.
3- Fun fact, Ains almost lost that fight. If he didn't receive some help he didn't see or prepare, Shalltear would have struck him and gained enough health to survive that last blow. Fortunately for him, Mare disregarded his order and used a skill at the end of the fight to distract Shalltear, gaining enough time for Ains to win. It was the first time a floor guardian willingly disobeyed him, and he wasn't aware of it. I'm explaining this because it is extremely badly explained in the anime and almost everyone miss this.
4- Yes, Shalltear came back and I love to see your reaction to that scene! The funny thing is, as much as you love Shalltear, I'm pretty sure you'll like Sebas even more in the second season, so seeing you love her so much is a marvel for me. If you are this hooked already and you can pass the next arc without dropping the show, I'm sure you'll have even more of a blast after!
5- I love your reaction to Entoma during Shalltear's ressurection scene! You saw her in the first episode, but not for long. I wonder how you'll react to her in the second season. She is an interesting lady.
The magic system is actually kinda cool because it's a mix of the one from the from Yggdrasil and the new world. Think of it like both existing concurrently but being totally separate from each other. The magic from Yggdrasil kinda like a foreign object injected into the new world.
The key word there is “lying” he was pretending in order for shalltear to utilize all her skills
Ahh yes, we can't wait for your reaction to Overlord season 2 and more
To clarify the end of the fight there Aura used a skill to temporarily affect Shalltear which is why she stopped her attack that would of canceled Ainz's Super Tier spell Fallen Down. When Shalltear said "Shorty" she was referencing Aura because Shalltear knew it was Aura that did it and that's how she refers to Aura..
Shalltear and the Mare and Aura Duo were created by Siblings. Thats why Aura allways fight with shalltear, and Aura was ment by shalltears last words, as kind of her sibling intended by the Sibling Players.
5:50
Yep, he learned to fight melee as Black Warrior Momon. Also, his fight with Clementine. He did tell her: "I have learned a lot".
19:45
Well, I think they want to know who this enemy is too. Thing is, this happened due to pure chance. Just random luck of a Theocracy patrol being found by Shaltear. A patrol that was investigating the disapearance of the Scripture Ainz killed. Just a bunch of coincidences. Ainz thinks they were targetted because he cannot think someone moving with a *world item* without a clear plan. Afterall, yhos rthinhs were invaluable. This event changed Ainz approach to the entire world, and it will be the catalist for the events to come. Afterall, he knows now, he is not infallible and while potions and spells gave hibts, now he is certain world jtems made it through. So caution is the first and foremost concern. It motivated him to fill the gaps of experience on his subordinates.
22:12
Well, I think it is because we have seen what come afterwards. Unfortunately, yeah, those are lizardmen minding their own business. They are a test, well several tests bunched into one.
28:16
Yeah, the effect did not fully complete. It was the ability of the world class item _Downfall of Catle and Kingdom_. If it had fully completed, the Shaltear's allegiance would have been completely switched. So even killing and resurrection would not have worked.
They were heading to the supposed resurrection site of a "Dragon Lord"
Downfall of Castle and Country would not have kept her allegiance to them after death if they had completed it
the strongest being in this corner of the world is the platanium dragon lord we will meet him in season 2 remember we are in the end bit of florida and we havent even seen whats out there in the world we only seen some of the human kingdoms
To clarify the part where Aura Interferes, a lot of people dont get it so putting it out there.
Ainz Hesitated to finish off Shaltear because he was not sure if the revival would work for sure in this world. This gave an opening to Shaltear and she attacked Ainz, hoping to stop him before he could use that timer item. But Aura realized about Ainz's hesitation and interfered with Shaltear using her ability, resulting in distracting Shaltear before she could attack Ainz. This is why Shaltear call her "shorty" and also Aura says that its a complete victory for Ainz, because in her perspective Ainz did not make any mistake, she only had to interfere because Ainz hesitated.
Hesitating during a fight is one of the biggest mistakes you can make.
Luke: I WANNA KNOOW!
Everyone watching this: I WANNA KNOOOW!! Lol
This episode makes absolute sure that people would wait any length of time for more seasons 🤩
Bukubuku Chagama is the person who created Aura and Mare, the elf twins, she is also the older sister of Peroronccino, the creator of Shalltear and also a fan of +18 games
What Shalltear saw or what she felt at her back was a skill of Aura, she can use that skill at short distance by just thinking of using that skill, but she usses her breath like a way to concentrate that "fear" and be able to affect other people from like 2miles away
The mind control was done by that Old Priestess Lady that Shalltear attacked (that piercing attack that went through a big warrior guy and Priestess). Since the Old Priestess Lady was gravely injured the mind spell was not complete. Therefore Shalltear was left alone in the plains by herself. If she got attacked then she retaliates. Mystery solved.
You cant imagine what Ainz is capable of to just protect ains owl gown :D he will go genocide if it meant to protect the guild he built with his comrades :)
I'll warn you now, Season 2 starts off pretty slow. But It is Really Good! All of it is! Thanks for your reaction! Love watching you React!
The magic crystal thing contains magic that can be used even if one doesnt have the skill. So say a human mage can only cast 3rd tier magic, but if they have a magic crystal with 6th tier magic, they can cast that once.
Ainz I think had like a 7th or 8th tier magic which is basically mythical magic in the new world, so if he goes "yeah I destroyed this mythical magic crystal and it caused huge destruction", if one considers that 4th tier is like peak magic in the new world, no one would realistically be able to test Ainz' claim.
19:44 "Who the hell is this enemy? I wanna know!"
Get ready for a slow burn.
In D&D games (which the writer used to play with his friends), especially in long campaign formats like this, the true enemy is teased at early on, but the party never comes into direct conflict with them until way down the line. They start out fighting the local thieves' guild, then they take down the lord funding them, then they the regional baron, and then the corrupt prince. In JRPG terms, it starts with saving a cat in a tree and ends with killing a god, but there's a lot of stuff in between.
The fact that Ainz needed the equipment of several players from the guild, a few P2W items from the store and finally the assistance of another NPC, making it 2vs1, for me is tantamount to admitting that he is weaker than her.
I mean Momonga character was made for roleplaying purpose and not meta pvp classes like touch me or ulbert (those two were insane pvp meta slaves)
Ainz is not evil, he is justice!
And all those who stand in his way are the true evil, and they must be destroyed!
Ainz-sama is justice and weakness is a sin!
24:22 hahahahah run fool, run while you can)) believe me, once you get to know Lupusregina Betta better, you definitely won’t say “I like Betta”)))
Regarding Ainz killing the adventurers to silence them, as Albedo said when Ainz was about to end the Sunlight Scripture that was attacking Carne Village in earlier episodes: "I think you are confused. Lower life forms such as humans should bow their head in wait and be thankful when their lives are taken." Therefore, from Nazarick perspective, the adventurers should be thankful, especially since at least one of them will serve a purpose to Ainz in the next episodes.
he used teh bodies of the Sunlit Scriptures he caught to test what his undead skill works like in this new world. so no innocent poeple harmed..yet, now about the lizard poeple who knows.
The guy at the end was teh part of the team that faught off Shalltear and one of their memebers was the reson for the semi-mind contorl effect.
Everyone in the guild is a monster, don't forget the requirements to join Ainz Ooal Gown were to be a 'monstrous race' in the game, as well as NOT being NEETs. Basically the player base was sort of split like WoW was between horse/alliance, but it was monsters vs heroes or something. The game itself is such a cool, impossible to implement thing in it's own right.
And another important thing to keep in mind... EVERYONE longs to be ruled over by Ainz Ooal Gown... they just might not know it yet. :D
Ohhh man I can't wait for next season, it's a different vibe for the first half and i love what is essentially world building next season has a LOT of world building.
World Champion is basically the guy that wins the 1v1 rankings and with the title they get a special armor set.
That at the end of the fight is Aura's doing, Ains hesitated for a moment thinking that the NPCs might not truly want him, Shalltear tried to use that moment yet got distracted by Aura allowing Ains to ascertain himself.
Albedo, Demiurge and Pandora's Actor are the three most intelligent and cunning and strategic NPCs according to their settings (Rubedo not counting as it is not known yet) in the guild, since their settings became real thus their genius did as well. ALbedo has the advantage to understand a warriors position better than Demiurge thus giving her an edge in comprehending the battle.
With the combination of "the goal of all life is death" and the AoE "cry of the banshee" Ains killed even the entire area around them.
World Champion armor set and a unique item (weapon) IIRC. Believe Touch Me's was his sword.
I love how Ainz has four identities
Ainz Oel Gown
Momon of darkness
The Sorcerer King
Momonga
11:26 she says "shorty" in her last moments, because Aura is, in a way, kinda like her sister
Shalltear was created by Peroroncino, while Aura and Mare were created by Bukubuku
Peroroncino and Bukubuku were siblings, with Bukubuku being THE sister you were talking about previously, she is not related to Momonga/Ainz, the siblings were just in the same guild as him
plus i'm pretty sure it was Aura who distracted Shalltear at the last moment before the spell was cast
"this isn't a game" exactly, he cares more for his nazzarick citizens than anyone else, so he will go above and beyond to protect them.
23:29 tbf the "old world" was a game.
So it's more into how you build your character, rather than how strong your avatar (character look)
Of course i won't say if they are player or not lol
And while this isnt a question you asked per say but another of those things that isnt explained in the anime: How come Ainz and Shalltear are suddenly surrounded by sand?
Last episode Ainz used a special overlord skill: "The goal of all life is death". This skill augments the next instant death causing necromancy spell the user casts, making it ignore any and all immunity to death effects that those affected by it may have. In short there's no defense aside from having a way to get away before it goes off or having a way to resurrect like shalltear did. The downside of the skill augment is that it applies a delay between the spell being cast and the spell going off, that was the hands of the giant magic time-piece behind Ainz counting down before everything died in a giant radius from the wide range "cry of the banshee" spell.
The KEY word there is EVERYTHING DIED, even things that normally cannot die, like the plants, the earth... the very air DIED. Thus you have a fine sand wasteland where literally nothing escaped the grasp of death.
Finally at the end :D Loved your reaction when he donned the armor!!
If you are shocked now, seasons three and four will be devastating 😅
Also never forget, Momonga is not the good guy of the story, he is slowly but surely becoming a true Undead, an Elder Lich Overlord.
Just think of it as being an ant that transformed to a human. You would not purposely step on the ants, but if you did step on a few while walking, it would not really change your day or keep you from going to work.
The other adventurer would not have survived the first spell casted in the battle against Shalter he was dead either way he even suggested he not take this job. He wasn't going to bring people who would turn into healing potions for Shalter, he told him it would mean certain death the fact he didn't listen is on him, it's like me telling you drinking bleach is bad and you doing it anyways, that's not my fault.
23:27 The whole theme of the show was basically just Ainz/Momonga "overestimating" his opponents ability and ended up overkilled most of them, so don't get your hopes too high of some worthy adversaries for them 😅
8:31
And that, Luke, is why we all say this:
HAIL THE OVERLORD! SASUGA, AINZ-SAMA!
Regarding the messed-up actions of Nazarick members, it makes sanse because many of them had their Karma points at -500 (most evil) for vilan roleplay purposes. Originally the status point only had to do with combat-related factors in the game, but now it defines their personalities.
Ha, I knew you couldn't resist going straight to season 2.😆
9:34 "Big Brother" here not really means she is a sibling to Momonga...but some simply Japanese cultural things..........keyword "onii-chan"
11:23 "Shorty" refers to Aura. Remember the eyeball behind Shalltear few seconds before? That was Aura's taunt skill.
When Ainz was about to kill Shalltear, he hesitated a second and this second was fatal. Aura use her skill to distract Shalltear. Otherwise Ainz may lose this battle.
20:30 Mare suggests to repair the ruined forest after the battle.
You're not alone, about Ainz killing the innocent adventurers!
Although I understand he wants to keep information concealed, he should have insisted on deterring the adventurer from coming along. Ainz barely even tried, he gave one warning: "if you come, you'll die" and that was it. Of course, the guy on the receiving end of that warning didn't take it as a threat, but rather as an opinion! The opinion that "Onyopnyoko" (= Shalltear) was going to end him.
Touch me won a tournament and as a reward he got a exclusive class "world champion" and that set of armor.
He isn't slowly changing he's already changed he remembers what emotions feel like but his way of thinking is super pragmatic now.
Ainz turned the forest into a desert with those big spells, Mare was asking if he should fix it but Ainz wants to use it as evidence for how much of a threat Shalltear was so he can jump up in adventurer rank.
If you didn't put 2+2 together it was another scripture of the Thocracy that tried to brainwash Shalltear, the one weilding the world item died in the process so they couldn't order Shalltear around and left, them being there was a coincidence that'll be brought up later.
