Madison Booker in her homecoming to Mississippi sank a jumper with 26 seconds left to lift Texas to a 61-58 victory over RV/RV Ole Miss on Sunday.
Ole Miss led 56-48 at the 6:04 mark of the fourth period. The Longhorns used a 13-2 run and held the Rebels scoreless over the final 4:01 of the game to secure the victory.
Taylor Jones recorded her second straight 20-point game with 24 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field. Booker poured in 12 points for the Longhorns. Rori Harmon scored eight points and dished out seven assists. Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda tallied eight points as the made her first start of the season.
Ole Miss led 21-14 after the first period, but Texas stormed out to a 10-0 run to start the second quarter. Jones scored six of the 10 points for the Longhorns and put Texas up 24-21 with a pair of free-throws.
Jones scored 12 first half points for the Longhorns, but the Rebels took a 32-28 lead at halftime.
Mwenentanda made a jumper at the 3:06 mark of the third quarter to tie the game 43-43. She tallied six points in the third period for the Longhorns.
Up next the Longhorns return home to host Missouri on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 8:00 p.m. CT on SEC Network.

• Texas improved to 20-2 on the season and 6-1 in SEC play. Texas improved to 6-2 on the road this season. The Longhorns won their fourth straight game.

Mississippi will be hard outing every game. Their defense is really good. Holding a Texas team to 61. Rebels could possibly be a second Weekend team in NCAA Tournament. They’ve had struggles with offense. Their offense could make or break their season.
