The undyed five-pen School House pen case was the second item I ever received from Galen. Then the Kaweco two-pen case in Crazy Horse Brown. I’ve since added the undyed tote, wallet, weeks mega cover, Zip and Slip pen case, and A6 cover. The Old School pen case is the lightest color in my collection as well. Also, I have that same spot in the center of the back of my case. Burnished is a form of smoothing. It’s usually done by rubbing a metal item on the edges until smooth to remove fraying. I also love their coffee. I drank another cup earlier this afternoon as a treat.
When a material is burnished it is compacted by a hard smooth tool to create a shiny surface. Thanks for the review of the cases! It seems like they would be rigid enough to protect pens from getting squashed. I only have one thing from Galen Leather. It is a purple leather pencil bag. The photo of it online made the purple appear vibrant, but in person it looks more subdued, which was a little disappointing to me. It is a good quality bag though.
Thank you for telling me that! I guess I should’ve paid attention to what was written on the top of the boxes they came in because it says in pretty large letters “burnished edges” hehe 😁 I’m really enjoying them so far, and I bet they will get better with age!

I do not have the green case anymore. I sold it a few months back because I was trying to get my collection down to even less than 10. Although if I count my pens right now I have 11 🤣 it’s so hard to find pen case peace. I think it’s just like purse and wallet peace. It took me many years to find the perfect wallet!!
I've had the 5 pen one on my WL forever, I love that look too. Do they have a strong leather smell? Does the "pen tray" from the bigger one slide out easily?
No strong smell at all actually. I’ve had a lot of other leather products smell more than this. And yes the tray slides right out with very little effort.
