You're wrong. If that were true, then why didn't he fight Snyder when Zack decided to write and present Superman as an emotionally detached murderer of Metropolis citizens? And although the U.S. army was portrayed correctly as post 9/11 blood lusting, paranoid goons, it was completely out of character of Superman to hold the planet hostage after destroying their surveillance drone in such an over the top way.
Face it, kid. Even in death, Christopher Reeve's shadow is impossible to escape, and the world is fine keeping it that way. Cavill never had a chance.

Its so sad that we went from times like this where the role was anxious to be resumed to now where Hollywood has almost completed its vision to erase the icon of Superman to be forgotten because he represents every little boys' dream to be strong and powerful 😔
Hans Zimmer MOS is a POWERHOUSE! His "What are you going to do when you are not saving the world?" is what I listen to when Im at the gym. I also think about Henry Cavill's Superman. Zimmer captured the essence of Superman but he also captured the essence of who Henry Cavill genuinely is and that is our modern day Man of Steel. Good luck on the next guy playing Superman....but Henry Cavill will always and forever be my Kryptonian. You will always be missed my friend.

Both John Williams and Hanz Zimmer themes are both ICONIC.

It wasnt actually Hans, it was Junkie XL, who previously worked with Hans for MoS and BvS. That theme, Superman Rising pt2, that is basically the 2nd half of the Flight theme from MoS

Nope it’s the biggest downgrading of a character theme I’ve ever seen Superman’s theme was one the most iconic superhero themes of all time it’s better than the mid and overrated Avengers theme and certainly better than the modern BS Theme for Superman.

Williams score is iconic, it's simple and recognizable, you could be tone deaf and whistle it, it's that simple. Zimmer's score is rich and deep and complex, it's next level. He should have chose Zimmer, for this more complex Superman.
This Superman was never complex, just more serious and less campy. Same goes for the theme.
Such a shame he won’t be superman again as they are rebooting. He was such a great actor/fit for Superman.

I do like Hans Zimmer's score, but the John Williams Superman theme is one of my favorite pieces of cinematic music. That said, the third trailer (I think third) for Man Of Steel is one of the best movie trailers I've ever seen.

Man of Steel is such an amazing film. But there is only ONE thing that Zack missed out on that was so important for Superman and which Henry was robbed of when portraying Superman and that is his humanity. The warmth, kindness, humility, charm and love that Superman has for people.
There is a reason why his death at the end of BVS fell flat. It's because we never got to see him actually interact with the people he saved, we never got to really see why people loved him and his own love for those people. We didn't get to see him smile and lift people up no matter the situation. That is truly the core of Superman. I get his character arc but Superman should have never lost hope because he is supposed to be a beacon of it. Henry truly could have portrayed that side of Superman so so well because he himself is a warm and humble person. This is the true robbery of Henry and his version of Superman.
The terraforming scene with the score in man of steel is something that doesn’t get old and gives the same feelings no matter how many times you watch it.

I agree with what you say. Both iconic and amazing in their own way. But Mr Zimmer intentionally stayed away from doing a fanfare because it is literally not possible to do one for the character of Superman and have it hold up to Mr Williams original score. But they both illicit a strong reaction to anyone “unkewl” enough to be willing to invest themselves in a movie (as opposed to watching it with shark eyes and then no matter what resorting to a criticism of the cinematography or something as a first impression of the film ; )
Zimmet and williams themes are infinitely great, just remember that some infinites as greater than others.

I love Henry, don’t get me wrong. But you sit down in your theater seat, lights go out and it becomes silent. Suddenly the drums start to roll shortly accompanied by trombones. The theater ERUPTS, and I mean ERUPTS…only a few songs have ever accomplished that. John Williams and Hans Zimmer are two of the greatest artists on this planet, no doubt. But when it comes to Superman, John Williams score cannot be broken. No song has ever captured one man so perfectly in the history of cinema. However, I LOVE the theme song for Man of Steel and am just sick at how Harry got treated in all this.

I know that John Williams is THE Superman theme but Hans Zimmer's theme makes your Superman different than the other versions. This theme only suits you. It makes you different than other live action Superman. This theme is perfect for the new Silver Age or 52 Superman. Pls it must come back in Man of Steel 2.

John Williams theme IS Superman. Hans is amazing and would make a great accompaniment, however John Williams just evokes such an emotional response. It’s like Binary Sunset and Luke Skywalker. They will always be two sides of the same coin.
IMO, the John William's Superman theme will always be the greatest theme song ever written.
That said, I do believe that done correctly, both Williams's and Zimmer's theme can equally be used for a Superman movie.

If only people realized just how important the man of steel theme is to Henry’s Superman tho. Yes it’s nostalgic but nostalgia for who Christopher reeves?. The legend is dead now which is pretty sad to do to make it the same theme song as the new Superman. If anything Hans Zimmer actually modeled the score after John Williams he was inspired so much by it that he made it sound different of course but it actually resonates with it. See Zack Snyder understands the concept of respecting the past and embracing the future which is why he does the smallest of things that is Christopher and overall every Superman incarnation. That’s what Zack is doing. Making the Superman. And let’s be real. The Superman would not have an easy life. But that’s why he makes him and others so relatable in his films. I want the Snyderverse by all means necessary and within reason. The man deserves this. If WB just does you watch it would be there biggest and greatest ever. I have deal for WB. If Zack does awesome at the box office for Rebel Moon you have to rehire him again. The man deserves more than an incomplete story.

I love Hans Zimmer. He has done some of the best scores I've heard in film. My favorites of his are Days of Thunder and Inception. However John Williams is just next level, and his Superman theme is far superior compared to Man of Steel.
Its clear for cameo purposes he is using the john williams theme as a sort of "hey superman is here" but for his movies he is going with hans zimmers awesome score because in the end that is for his version of superman just like how dean caine, tom welling, tyler had a theme for there own version of superman.
