UPDATE: From ACEMAGIC -------- Ace Magic recently detected that some shipments manufactured before November 18th, had an issue with its pre-load "build image" of Windows. In a constant attempt to improve the out of box experience, our software developers adjusted our drive image to reduce initial setup time. Part of our script did not execute enables a digital signature used to be used to authenticate, report and license Windows did not launch correctly and the software license was not signed. Also, some customers have reported that some mini pc's manufactured before November 18, 2023 may identify some viruses on image. Please do not be concerned as the detected files do not pose an inherent risk. Please use Windows Security to identify and remote identified files and reboot. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. If you have received a product from us, please first check if the product you received was manufactured before November 18 by scanning the QR code affixed to the back of the product, and if so, please let us know and we would be happy to either replace the product for you as soon as possible or you can circumvent the risk by reinstalling a new operating system. --------------------------- My unit scanned clean and properly licensed ----------------------
Unless I’m not up to date. The CGNAT is not solve unless you spend $500~ for a different modem. For most of us we don’t want to spend the cost of internet for 10 months to resolve the CGNAT
Sorry, the TMobile gateway is good but does not allow for a lot of flexibility. A new gateway gave me the required bridge mode (modem only) which is the only thing that is truly required. The new gateways did give me the ability to also go 5G only (5GSA) and pick my bands so that I get some killer uplink scores that are perfect for Serving. I figure I am saving $40/mo using TMobile home internet. Even spending $500, I will recover that cost in 12.5 months and I get better speeds, better ping to boot.
It literally took me 2 years of messing around, reading and experimenting to figure out how to get CGNAT to disappear for once and for all. I will keep looking for a less expensive way, but it is kind of like a moon landing; Its so amazing that we did it that no one should look at the price tag 😀
@@PeterC408 I asked about bridge mode a couple years ago. Sadly, Tmobile doesnt want to solve that problem. I think woogety is right about using a different device. Problem is, a bare modem is still pretty pricey. I might just do that and dump having Tmobile internet since they are throttling me (which is sad since I am using half a TB per month). I can just suffer with what I got until it forces me.
Trying to record ghost on paramount plus the full season! Can’t seem to make it work. Do you set it up as a batch and how we go about that never have had software without a manual somewhere. Any resources you can point me two would be really appreciate it. Thanks for your insight on that NAS. Trying to set up the new mini PC as a server for the house so I can see you things while I’m out and about. Not sure what security you need to put in place to keep it safe from others hacking it. Want to setup server to replace my Apple storage for all my Apple products. Apple cloud storage for my own storage. Learning more about plex server to see what I can create. Thanks for all your insight, you are great at sharing your knowledge and expertise. I so appreciate it. Gregg
Batch Recording is an advanced feature that is available on some of the platforms. When I click on Video Streaming / Batch Recordings, I see the list shorten to Netflix, Amazon Video, FreeVee and Disney+. This means that Batch Recording is not currently available on Paramount+. You can still record Paramount+ the original way. If you have technical questions, support@audials.com is a good resource and perhaps you can ask them for that feature to be added to Paramount.
Hi Peter, good looking setup you go there!. Could you please tell me what wireless touchpad/keyboard do you use? Does it use IR or does it use a wireless protocol like bluetooth? Thanks!
Peter, I 'm purchasing a waveform antenna with a Tmobile gateway, does it matter how far my t mobile gateway is from the antenna router? Dig your channel brother!!
Yes. You want to keep your cable run under 50 feet if at all humanly possible. If not, there are modems that can work with TMHI that can run up to 300 ft away. Like this one ruclips.net/video/HU7TQ97cv9s/видео.html
Sure, you can serve with other things, but you need power to serve 4K. This one also runs Audails, which is my dvr software. Much more than the RPI can handle. I normally run PLEX from my Synology NAS drive.
There are cheap mini PCs that have the intel N100 or N5105 that cost under $200. I bought a tiny PC with an AMD Zen7 (5700u) for around $250 on black friday. Its crazy fast for that size.
@@PeterC408 I think the bottleneck is usually the network. I can't answer that question because I have not tried to do that. Even the less powerful N100 PCs can run at least dual screen 4K@60, so I would have to guess yes with a good network.
Ready to purchase the AceMagic System you talked about with this video, do I have to get an external DVD drive and I am putting it behind a Large TV I have 2.5 inches to work with do you think it will work and stay cool? Gregg
Hey Greg be careful some TVs get pretty hot behind them. No you don't have to get a USB DVD player but if you have one you can of course hook it up. Just keep in mind that larger TVs have larger back lights and those can get warm
you talked about an air keyboard, any insight on an external DVD drive that would work well with it. PLEX server, did not see it in your list of Items to purchase... just finished wiring high speed Switch behind the TV with 4 ports to connect anything you talk about. Really appreciate all your insight helping me put this together @@PeterC408
If you plan on mounting to the back of your TV, you may want to get one that is TV mountable. The AceMagic unit that I am reviewing now actually comes with such a mounting plate. Wait for that one.

It uses both IR, to control TV, and proprietary wireless for airmouse plus keyboard
