Honestly, it’s not just the furry fandom that can be toxic, every fandom is toxic in some way. And I think that’s just how fanbases are.
Most definitely!!!! When there is diversity, of whatever form, within a community, there will likely be toxicity within or surrounding the community.

Ironically enough, it seems to be the fandoms which revolve around media which preaches acceptance and kindness which are, in an ironic twist of fate, the most toxic.
I’ve had some run-ins with some seriously toxic Bronies and Overwatch players, despite MLP preaching kindness and acceptance, and Blizzard saying they enforce sportsmanship in Overwatch.
Compare that to Warframe, an M-rated game about murdering mass numbers of faceless enemies in the most visceral, graphic ways possible. I’ve met some seriously kind and loving people through that game. I say that without hyperbole.
The furry fandom started in the late 80’s... not the early 2000’s

I've have been the FNaF fandom since the first game came out, and I can agree with the kids. They don't make it fun anymore to be in. That's why I don't usually go to fandom sites and stuff. I just stick to Dawko and other FNaF youtubers to keep me fresh with the new games and theories.

I'd like to mention that Violent J (one half of the Insane Clown Posse duo) had been a very vocal supporter of the furry fandom. Even calling out scam artist's and whatnot. His daughters a furry and he loves and supports her very much. As a Juggalo and a furry it warms my heart.

I'm surprised he didn't go over the literal hell that is Sans fangirls. That's a growing portion of the fandom that's composed of basically 11-12 year old girls, who insult and cyberbully each other over a fictional character that they've allegedly "married". Yeah, it's a good thing I left the UnderTale community when I did.

@@MoonRaven21 Of course, there are always bad eggs in a fandom. No fandom is perfect! I have yet to meet a homophobic, transphobic, racist (etc.) furry in the fandom, after being a part of it for over a year as of writing this.
@@Mickelraven I know that, but block solarboyaaron aka the transphobic furry I was talking about. I was searching up them for callouts since I got into drama from them in july 2020 and i found out they are transphobic and horrible.

Furry fandom is not that good. Its normal. The amount of dramas here is insame tho but because cute arts and groups seemw to be friendly for people outside
@@wadimek116 it's gone downhill because of the explosion of woke-ism and extremist SJW's. It was always sorta there a bit but now it's just ridicoulous. Also people don't come into a fandom to be politically attacked without saying literally anything either, they came to relax, have fun, enjoy being around others who like me (possibly) feel they are better understood, etc. It's why like nobody in it over 25 really is actively in speaking roles anymore except for conventions as artists cause we don't care about the trash the sheeple are tossing around.

3:36 Actually furries have been around even longer than you think. We’re talking like the 80’s before the Internet. Humblest beginnings come from when they were called “funny animals”...atleast according to the Down the Rabbit Hole.
I just know that furries have been around longer than at least 3 to 4 decades and are one of the oldest known communities, and it going through lots of changes.
I thought you were going to include Steven Universe; i think most fandoms are toxic and cringy, but also have goods that outweigh the bads.

Fyi, furries date back to the 60's as part of an underground indie comic scene know as the "funny animals community". Also furies started the original anime fan community. Some would have these parties where you would gather around and watch whatever new show a member would have imported. Just a cool little fact ^^

4:01 Honestly, I remember the gen 3 MLP being the one I had when I was little, with MLP FIM coming out when I was 10, though didn’t watch it till later. Horses were my favorite animals as a kid so it made sense why I love MLP so much. I have a while I’m no die hard fan, I always have a soft spot for it, and I respected most pronies for the stuff they made.
It's all about enjoying what you like and not being a fanatic, Just be chill and enjoy what makes you happy. I do find the Furrie Fandom one of the more chill out of all of them.

Well Furcadia has been around and continuously running since 1996ish maybe '97 I'd say the fandom has been around for a damn long time. Though I'm pretty sure it's been around much longer than that, didn't Ash Coyote do a whole documentary about it?

For some context about how long the furry Fandom has been around the idea got pumped up in 1969 after people were fans of anthro cartoons from decades before and the first furrycone "confurence" was in 1982

You hit close to home with Fnaf but I completely understand. All the 9yo just suck the fun out of it. There WAY to young to understand the plot so they really only like the fan fiction about the characters and then they think they know everything. Ive been a fan of Fnaf since 2014 so ive seen these kids for YEARS! Anyways good vid!

The worst fanbase I have been in is the off fanbase. I got called out by a famous off fan that had their own fangame and got blocked everytime I follow someone if they are into off. It was hell and I dont want anyone in the off fanbase to interact with me AT ALL because of that drama.
There's one big thing people in general don't take into consideration. That is the practice of tossing "general issues" into a fandom/hobby/etc. Like don't tell me furries are just sexual degenerates, yeah it may more "accepted' in some manners but it doesn't stop many from being called ho's or otherwise. Accross all fandoms you have mega toxic people, bad people, etc, and many of them are just in something cause "they like it." It doesn't mean there's tons of perverts or jerks in every fandom, it means in general too many people who suck talk too much the loudest unless they do get in some kinda legal trouble. I saw some thing getting made for the "coaster enthusiast" group of people and you know what, literally one channel guy who was only borderline int rouble (but defamed/condemned entirely anyway) made some need for some big awareness? Nah, it was a general issue of a single man's actions, nor others of a single woman's actions, any gender, etc.

Haha my first internet bf was a Juggalo back in my Yoshi and Sonic fangirl days in the 90s. BTW, Furry Fandom actually started in the 70s at scifi and comic conventions (same place anime weebs came from). Possibly even earlier if you count comic and animation artists underground art theyd share between eachother for fun.

Those fandoms have a large number of kids, kids do dumb things. People don’t like it, but it is a legit excuse. Furries on the other hand are likely at least 70% adults, that’s why furries are hated. What excuse do they have for their cringe bullshit?
5:01 Oh, nononono!! The brony community is far from dead!!! The trend surrounding the concept of breaking gender stereotypes merely faded, along with bandwagon riders(after the so-called "Golden Age" ended in 2012). But, the community is still running strong. :) There's even a 5th generation of the show coming out next year that lots of fans are looking forward to, including myself. :D
Though, based on a conversation I had with some people at a convention, I believe a lot of people that are outcasted and said to be "weird" flock to the brony or furry fandoms because those are the only places that they feel accepted and fit in.

Being a furry, Undertale fan, and a FNAF fan, I can say that the FNAF fandom is by far the most toxic and least-liked.
Literally weebs throw the same accusations and bs as the ones they get slammed with and vice verse and seriously, as a furry weeb seeing this happen too many times is exhausting, both mentally and emotionally that it makes you wonder if there is any hope in the two fan bases even having peace with each other.

This is my side of the story for the fnaf fandom:
I was a mere 7 year old (5 years ago) when I got into fnaf, I would literally obsess over this game. I knew everything there was to know about the story and the lore. Until last year, last year I discovered how toxic and HOW MUCH RULE 34 ART THERE IS TO SEE! It ruined fnaf for me. So I left the fandom. So I went and joined the furry fandom 7 months ago, I began to not care about fnaf anymore and got bored of it and now I just don’t talk about it like I did two years ago. My life has changed a lot ever since I left that fandom. But now I feel more welcome here in the furry fandom. I feel like I’m myself. But I’ll never forget about being in the fnaf fandom.
