This makes me sooooo mad. So they ask you a successful youtuber to review their products and use it in your video, which will without a doubt boost thier sales and put even more money in thier pockets. But they don't even have a foundation OR a cincealer that comes in your shade. They simoly don't give a flying shit about darker skinned people, I guess we don't exist. But they still want you to sell thier products, and promote them. The absolute cheek. So your left having to "make do" so to speak and just use thier eyebrow products etc. No more am I buying products from companies who can't even be bothered to make products for darker people. Why the hell should I have to "adapt" and "alter" products to make them work for me just because the company doesn't recognise my existence. Therefore it is clear that these products are not made for me. Sorry for the rant but I'm simply tired of this shit
jacpppp This is no rant! I totally and completely understand where you're coming from. It makes no sense what these companies are doing. This video just shows how talented peakmill is because she STILL made it work anyway
Makes sense, but you should understand that each company has target buyers that they know will buy their products if they don't think darker skinned people will they won't make it. Now, if a bunch of black people started buying and that became the highest percentage of sales and service then they'd promote more darker colors. That's just with every business.
I'm sorry but I can't accept that, in the UK Chanel does not sell it's dark shades here. They just don't even make them for Uk distribution. I was told "we don't make it for your colour". Then you have a basic brand like Maybelline which is far from a specialist brand. In the Uk you do not get for example the new "Infallible" foundation in any dark shades over here. That brand is very cheap over here with a very wide darker skinned clientele. They know darker women use thier products but still won't give us a foundation shade. There isn't even one for a dark mixed raced person. My friend had to order it from the US, ridiculous
jacpppp totally agree with you.. In the UK it's soo hard to get a drug store foundation for dark skin tones and it's ridiculous... wish things would change. Idk if you noticed.. I live in the country side and in my local superdrug they had a sleek section which sold foundation for darker skin tones and they took it done to put up some cheep ass company called makeup revolution and they don't even have a powder that matches our skin tones..
jacpppp I never thought about that furthermore, you make a very valid point. I do not buy It Cosmetics and stay away from cosmetic lines that do not have my foundation or concealer shades. I also make it a point to support cosmetic lines that target people of color such as "Black Opal, Fashion Fair, Black Radiance, Maybelline, etc." When I head to Europe this summer I plan to rack up on BlackUp Cosmetics.
