Good to have you back making new PZ content! First thing I recommend anyone do in b42 is take a sheet from curtains or wherever and make a backpack out of it! Think it's 12 capacity with 60 weight reduction!
For new players coming in: Pulling down some curtains in your starter house and making a basic bag with them is a good idea. You'll want to upgrade ASAP but it's certainly better than nothing. 48:52 the planks on the windows made NoMiS think it was a survivor house, which contains higher grade loot, but the graffiti on the side indicates it's actually an abandoned house, which has at best random loot distribution. It having "event" zeds inside made it worthwhile for the bags and duct tape but that's why it was short on loot. As a side note, maintenance now levels more from repairing weapons, so all that duct tape is more valuable than in B41
This is the best and most informative PZ content for the new update, im shilling for the algorithm. Truly amazing and inspirational, very good stuff. But seriously im excited about basements too
I really appreciate the character build being very B42 centric. A lot of other players are sticking with tried and true B41 meta builds and tactics (and then complaining things don't work like they used to!) rather than deep diving the new features and play style. It's very obviously a work in progress, but I'm excited to see B42 develop and hope Leroy has a great time growing along with it!
Yay! Definitely excited for a new season! Btw, there's an option in the settings to highlight what you're targeting so you can't miss by pre-swinging and you'll know what zombies you're currently aiming at. As for sounds, Zombies groaning and sounds like doors opening are a bit loud in the first part, seems better after you tweak it at 20:00.
Appreciate the feedback on audio. As for the aim outlines, just my personal aesthetic preference not to use them. Things feel more immersive with the outlines off for me 😀
Used to watch your videos quite some time ago...find out there is a new build of PZ then it reminded me of your channel which I didn't remember the name so went to look through my subscribed channel and found it...Happy that you still making videos and hope you will get more subscriber but keep doing what you do. Stay safe and happy ✌️.
I learned a lot from watching your videos several years ago. I think that was in build 40. It's nice to see you doing a video where you are focusing on your character and the game play and not dividing your time talking to your chat subscribers. I guess those are the "Live" playthroughs". Not a big fan of those. But thanks for once again doing a video where it's about the player and his adventures.
Going down into that basement was the most chilling moment from not only a viewing experience but also as the player I am sure. I look forward to a random hoard populating a basement that forces you back up the stairs because you weren’t expecting it.
Zomboid has a great Sandbox mode where you can tweak just about every setting to make it as hard or easy as you'd like. Definitely options to ease yourself into the apocalypse
When you first start out just pick up a rock off the ground (dont even have to forage to find them) & just use that to bash zombies with. Its a great starter weapon.
I only discovered Project Zomboid a few days ago. It looks like a great game, but my initial experience has been pretty frustrating (and overwhelming since the game has so many deep layers). I only own a Mac and a Steamdeck (don't own any mouse). The Steamdeck experience is OK but frustrating in many parts. Tutorial had some popup menus I couldn't seem to get underneath so I had to force-quit. Retried the tutorial and somehow got stuck in a crouch-walk that I couldn't get out of (so had to force-quit the entire game again). Had no idea the different cities had different zombie-ratios,. so I was just defaulting to Muldaugh and in many cases instantly upon spawn I was surrounded (arms-reach) by 4 or 5 zombies and dead within 5 seconds. I finally figured out how to create a Sandbox config with 0 zombies and 0 locked houses so at least now I can relax and learn all the layers of mechanics without constantly dying every 5 seconds. I saw a dev-note yesterday that said something like "Steamdeck and controller improvements still forthcoming",. so I guess that's good to know but for now I may just have to buy and build a Windows gaming PC.
A lot of basics to take in when first starting out in PZ. I don't have a lot of experience with controller support but it sounds like TIS are working on more support for it. Best of luck with you apocalyptic adventures though and keep your chin up. This is the story of how you died after all :)
Okay the one zombie at 48:36 having not only a photo of two people in Halloween costumes but a locket with a picture of a kid OH MY HEART THAT SMALL BIT OF LORE OF LOOT 😭 I would've just yoinked them and just started a hoard of lore loot to keep the memories of those lost families alive Edit: THE CRACK HOUSE WITH FOUR CONVICS AND THE ROLLING PAPERS AND GLASS SHIV 😂 OH MY LORD I LOVE THIS 😂
FYI, you can make a backpack out of a sheet. So if you dont find one in your first house just grab one of the courtains and craft yourself a backpack. Also, try and go for the lightest equiped weapons, that will reduce the amount of muscle strain you gain.
Would animals become zombies? Or would there be something to prevent that. I think seeing a zombie cow would be amusing until it got closer. Haha a zombie turtle
I remember when you used to play hydrocraft mod build 33 or something on the channel, now build 42 a tune down hydrocraft with few qof mods add to it lol btw you can craft a bag from sheets now
As a Roleplayer I love some of the new additions and changes, especially the crafting. Some stuff def needs some tweaking doe, like muscle fatigue and general bugfixes. But damn, the difficulty seems to have gone up from personal experience, I was afraid of the dubious little creatures before-but now, theyre no longer just dubious, theyre also no longer little ! Sidenote, the modders are really working overtime to update mods to 42, lists already up to 500~ mod entries under the tag, damn. What do you rate your experience so far for Build 42 ? Got anything youd want to see changed ?
The crafting overhaul is looking really nice at first glance. Looking forward to really diving into it more. The modding community is top tier. Shows how much people love this game. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my experience so far. A couple small things I’ve noticed being driving not being very smooth and the inability to use the “walk to” function and fast forward without resetting the fast forward each time you click. Both things I’m sure will be tweaked as the build progresses. It’s obvious a lot of work has gone into this build though and I’m quite confident TIS will continue to do what they do best and tweak this build as needed to make for a great experience.
@NoMiSPlays I'm confident in it as well, I'm sure it isn't easy for them trying to please so many crowds (Casuals, Combat Freaks, Roleplayers, Builders etc.) One funny bug is that my survivor found a newspaper from the 15th detailing the fall of Louisville....on the 9th. IT WAS PLANNED ALL ALONG ! The Crafting Overhaul makes me wanna do a survivalist deep forest from scratch playthrough. Or even 1-10 years later start once the mods come out. I can't wait to see what the modders make with the animal-framework. Zombie Dogs ? DOGS IN GENERAL ? It'll be great.
@@NoMiSPlays Kind of moot as you found a bag later in the stream, but it's a great addition to starting out, think it only holds 12 with an encumbrance reduction of maybe 40%.
Yeah, I get they want people to try out the new aiming system but I'd rather not be burdened with unneeded inventory on spawn. I'll overburden myself, thank you very much
The pouch! You missed it twice! You're lucky you got some prisoners hiding in that crack house to give you three bags, or I'd be shaking my fist still.
It would be cool if they'd add "lock smith" or something similar even as just a specific part of blacksmithing where you can re key locks with some tools/skill.
in the best way possible, you would be a great golf commentator. very relaxing.
lol thanks!

Hell ya! Didn't know about this one. Going to be a lot to learn in this build. Glad to see you back @obi1shinobi89!

Great notes @SweenyMarc!
Sound is perfect...no tweking required.
great, thanks!
best build 42 series out there. thank you
Thanks! Glad you’re enjoying the content!
It all started for me with Mr. Darren Lively. Great to see you back at it in Build 42! Looking forward to this new series, NoMiS.
Hoping Leroy can live up to the reputation of those that came before him. Glad to have you back for another adventure!
@@NoMiSPlays Thank you, good sir! Good to be back, and best of luck. 🧟🔪🪓🏏
Commenting for support, by far best Zomboid content and not full of fast cuts but a straight play through.
Appreciate the support and glad you are enjoying the content
FYI, there is a known bug with soda, where it will completely remove all fatigue any time you drink some.
The best hidden feature of B42! lol Just discovered this in last night's stream as well. Thanks!
I literally drank a ginger ale like 30 minutes ago and I got 2612 thirst value. Won’t be thirsty for a very long time
Damn lol
Lore accurate Jolt confirmed
Well yeah, I would say if you chug an entire bottle of soda, you'd be pretty hyped up.
Definitely save the crow bar
This is the best and most informative PZ content for the new update, im shilling for the algorithm. Truly amazing and inspirational, very good stuff. But seriously im excited about basements too
This is a solid comment. The algorithm gods will be pleased 😄

That class should have a bravery bonus. They see some shit, man.

Definitely looking forward to dying horribly in a basement lol
i've trying to get into buying project zomboid but it just looks so overwhelming! it looks hard as hell to play it

Now, "Rare loot" really does mean "Rare".
Definetly, and its cool that some places are ransacked in the early chaos 👍👍
it is good to see you back on youtube Nomis!
Good to back 😀
Can I just say I have been waiting for this video since B41 dulled out for everyone. A video of Nomis taking on the new challenges.
Welcome back!
@@NoMiSPlays welcome back you to! Haha
The zombie at 14:36 gave me a sinking feeling there...
Holy exciting times Batman. Its like its Christmas with a new Series. Brill to see Nomis
Exciting times indeed. Excited to be back making this type of content again 😀
I would watch if I knew which game difficulty options you're using
Mentioned at the start of the episode, but Sandbox Apocalypse with no zed respawn and helis sometime
29:29 "A toy badge, can we wear a toy badge? No." - B42 confirmed, literally unplayable!
Refund!

Found this out recently on the livestreams. Ended up being a great starter weapon. Thanks!

you can use curtain sheets to craft a 12 weight sling bag if you have not already

Mucho mas build 42 por favor!
Finally, 8ve been waiting for a new youtube series that isnt a stream
It's great to be back making episodes again :D
Muscle strain is the mechanic that is going to set this one apart from other zed survival games, very good idea in getting closer to realism.
Agreed. Nice to see these types of realism mechanics finally being added to the game
Let's go! This and livestreams, win win

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO B42 HYPE!!!
Hell yeah, we all cry in unison
NEW SEASON HYPE
Volume is good chap
Awesome, thanks for the feedback!
The Return Of The King! I was hoping to see you come back for build 42. I’m excited to see the monster Leroy will become
Let's see what kind of mayhem we can stir up!
👍
Would painkillers do anything for muscle strain?
We tested a little bit on the livestream and it was a bit hard to tell, but leaning towards not so much. More testing will need to be done though
Youll sleep better with the side that has a pillow 41:34
Awesome, thanks for the tip!
Can't believe you didn't take the globe lamp at 54:24
Ahh! When we eventually get a permanent base there’s going to be a very long list of items to go out and collect now
Whoop whoop! Jeeeeeeenkins!
Your starting to sound like "Bob Ross" here in the opening. LOL

@ my bad no police station in echo creek
It would be cool if they'd add "lock smith" or something similar even as just a specific part of blacksmithing where you can re key locks with some tools/skill.
I've noticed the key duplication recipe, so maybe we will get a re key game play mechanic at some point in development as well
You missed a whole room in the white, two story house.
🤯 unacceptable. Will try and remember to circle back. Never know, that could hold the key piece of gear we need!
That better not be Ai art in the thumbnail dude...

😲
rare loot settings and ya cryin 💩
Definitely a lot more loot than what I'm used to with the usual settings, but also a lot more items in general to fill up that extra loot.
Horrible update
What are some of the things you don’t like?
