Great interview! Credit to Jason in that he had the discipline and strength of character, to utilize the great generosity of David's teaching to reach success in the comics industry. Thanks to Jason as well in walking me over to Dave at a Toronto Fan Expo, to show him my work, which lead to me too having the blessed chance of spending hours with and learning from David. Both of these great artists are generous in paying it forward. Their success is well deserved, I know first hand!
What a fantastic episode. I don’t know how I haven’t come across this one previously, but I’m really glad I did now. So much practical wisdom, insight and advice from such wonderful and amazing people. Thanks ( really ). All the best to you all.
I'm 40 and still dreaming lol! Got 2 patreons though, so someone likes my work! That helps me to keep my head up. I've been so poor of comics for a long time, so it's really nice to see a huge artist out there who's passionate about the work he's doing. Makes me want to really get back into drawing out pages. Great video!
16:42 Jason made a good point about not being a clone, but still keeping the foundation of your valuable teachings! I feel the same way! 😊 great interview!🔥
Great interview! I remember when I first saw his work. It was years ago (during the new 52) and I had just decided to start collecting comics again. I saw his artwork in a storyline involving manbats and then like an alternate Gotham or something and I was just blown away.
Finally, Jason Fabok. I can confirm, until this interview I thought Jason was drawing traditionally! Also, Darkseid War- the best team-up book from DC for me personally. I still look at it when I lay a page down.
Wow! What a great video! Amazing to hear from somebody who learned one on one with Dave. And also good to hear from a digital artist, because I want to get into that. Can't wait for that second video with the philosophical approach! And yes the pandemic has been great for me to improve my art faster. And I learned about this channel. Doesn't get much better than that.
This was awesome. David your videos have taught me so much about perspective and backgrounds, and Jason I’ve quickly become a big fan. Thank you all very much. I’m inspired.
great interview!! Jason Fabok is one of my favorite.. newer- standout comics artist! For me, I'm maybe a generation before Jason..(i'm born in 1981)? Either way, it's cool to hear him talk about the difference between pencil and digital!
Thank YOU. I get embarrassed, as a BIG FAN of Ivan when I get excited and mention his name as my influential artist. I get corrected by someone who is unsure themselves on how to pronounce Ivan's last name.
hey guys, I know time is short, but it would be cool if you did some art reviews, where you can take someone's art and critique it, like if you were looking at someone's portfolio.
I actually had three different English teachers in high school that allowed me to use art instead of book reports or essays. It's good to know others had the same experience.
Mr. Werbinski? I think he was the husband of my Art Teacher in highschool. I know her husband was big into comics then if it is the same teacher as she brought in his Grendel comics.
I can do what u guys do, I have such raw talent as a artist, I was born able to draw. Everyone I meet says the same thing, I should draw comics professionally. In my soul I kno it’s what I’m meant to do. I need the right ppl to see what I’m capable of, n also the speed I can draw. That’s my main strength is speed, and I kno in the comic industry there’s always a deadline to meet so I feel I would really excel. I’d love the chance to speak with u Dave or possibly get some type of mentor. Ur a huge inspiration and any tips or suggestions would b greatly appreciated.
two of the best artists in the game rn! the GOATS
That was great! Especially the insights about digital comic book art compared with traditional comic book art!
Thank you guys 😎✌🏻🤘🏻✏️🤘🏻

Two of my Canadian heroes/artists in the industry to this day. :)
You know it's a great video when David is taking notes.
And so the master becomes the student...
Some AMAZING advice in this video. I loved the confirmation of repetitive drawing to fix a technique or to explore ways of doing things.

I exactly know which one you're talking about. This Man-Bat was a killer!
Second!! I'm the one who made a portrait for Dave on Instagram ❤️❤️😊🇵🇭

My favorite artist of all time, Jason Fabok! There's no end to the rush of inspiration I get from his work. He's incredibly brilliant!
This was awesome. David your videos have taught me so much about perspective and backgrounds, and Jason I’ve quickly become a big fan. Thank you all very much. I’m inspired.

This is absolute gold! So many of my struggles as an artist are highlighted in this amazing interview.
Been waiting for this one, Fabok is one of my favorite artists
In my opinion Jason Fabok is the best dc artist I have ever seen, his art is a perfect mix of finch, Jim lee, and Gary frank.
Met Jason at a con once. He's a super awesome guy and really easy to talk to, just like David! Glad we can finally see this dynamic duo unite!
Very good episode, I hope someday Dale Keown appears in the show :D
Great video. Great interview 👍🏻
Bro I always wondered is your last name inspired by devilman ?
@@samankucher5117 Ha...no man it’s actually my last name “Mandeville”
Andy and Adam both worked on ultimate X-men, and it’s always a pain in the butt figuring out whose pencil work is which.
Aye, a new video for Friday! Awesome! Hopefully everyone has a great Friday!
very inspiring! good interview!
Let's go Jason is great
In portuguese Ivan Reis is pronounced Evaan Hayes! But I guess he’s adopted the English pronounciation , Eye-van Rees, to make everyone’s life easier!
Thank YOU. I get embarrassed, as a BIG FAN of Ivan when I get excited and mention his name as my influential artist. I get corrected by someone who is unsure themselves on how to pronounce Ivan's last name.

David does that regularly. Join the channel for that teir of mbership.
jason fabok is the artist behind, imo, the best looking joker from all of comics.
Fantastic interview
Job well done editor .
YEEEES J. FABOK!!!
Let's gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I actually had three different English teachers in high school that allowed me to use art instead of book reports or essays. It's good to know others had the same experience.
Great conversation
Jason Fabok is amazing. No wonder there isn't a single dislike on this video!
you guys are awesome.
YES!!!! 🙏🤘🔥
Sir can you please make a video about drawing comics.
Mr. Werbinski? I think he was the husband of my Art Teacher in highschool. I know her husband was big into comics then if it is the same teacher as she brought in his Grendel comics.

You should draw Rorschach from Watchmen for one of your Monday Night Draws. He is an awesome and realistic character.
