Wow, thank you David! Amazing content. These mini tutorials are extremely educational and watching your process and techniques is also very very inspirational. This is why, for me, you have the absolute best comics/drawing channel on RUclips. I’m sorry that I missed the livestream as I was wanting to get your advice on the process of learning to draw the head from all angles, but I will try and make the next one!

    Kind regards dear Mr.David.
First of all you are such an inspiration for me..watching your channel is very helpful for my drawing for fun, hobby and self psychotherapy, of course beside my main job..
Question:Does Yautja Predator still published in comics?
I kind like them and their lore a lot!!😃They are phenomenal species in my opinion and I enjoy to draw them for my personal pleasure and fun..
(If someone is interested you can see some on my channel).
Anyhow does that series still active because here in Europe in Croatia, there is nothing about Yautja Predator stuff that is published..or maybe I'm wrong..
    but I didn't find anything..
    Best regards!!and God bless you!😃

The folds occur based on tension and relaxation. Also cloth types. The clothes are fashioned at whatever design around the human form that the designer imagines. As you wear them and move in them, the physics of movement and the body frame under them create tensions at points of protrusions and folds at points of relaxation, as well as the physics of gravity and movement through space based on energy that propels the weight and mass of the cloth. The folds at the back/inside of the joints on movement come from relaxation of the cloth, as the joint and cloth there has no tension. All of the tension is at the protruding joint. This also makes the fold lines protrude out from/to the point of tension.

    • @guydoriansr
      @guydoriansr 7 месяцев назад

Additionally: The folds are formed in the relaxation parts as the cloth has no where to go but curl into itself in a smaller space than the actual taught length of the cloth.

9:19 I also remember those flared jeans in the 80s. Never got them new, they were from the 70s i think. Lol. Now corduroy was only a problem if you HAVE TO wear them because you just don't have anything else. But remove yourself from that situation in your mind for a moment! FF to now and you GET to wear a coduroy pants that fits comfortabley, even perfectly. That's good stuff, man! So cozy! One of the best things i ever got: me and my first girlfriend went to a dept store and bought a Nautica brand comforter/deuvet with a quilted insert. Had some good weight on it. OMG! i miss that more than i miss her.

Not sure if you saw,Dave... Ivan Reis has started using gray wash to spot blacks. It's super fast and not bothersome to thd inker as the ink is just going to cover it with opaque black ink anyway. I have not tried it yet, but may. I personally went back to drawing the contour forms of the shadows and just using the traditional X's within them, to indicate where the inker will fill in the blacks. It also keeps the page cleaner for the ink to lay right on the paper for better absorption. As well, if using hatch work, the hatchwork/rendering/line-work shows the inker the point of start of the hatch stroke.

24:07 in addition to what Dave says, to draw quicker, the key is to comprehend better. Know what you are doing, eliminate uncertainty through study, refresh and review often as you become aware of your uncertainty. This usually leads to focus more and more exact on details -- remember what Anthony Hopkin's character taught Antonio Banderas' in the movie The Mask Of Zoro about the fencing circles. 🤔Hmm i did not intend to go there with this comment.😊

Learned some things on the foot. Great great construction explainations of drawing the foot ,David. Always have some trouble or rather "reservations" when I am drawing a foot.

They really shouldn't be so hard, but they're not covered too much, so they can end up forgotten. I'm still not as great with feet as I'd like to be.

1:18:06 🤔 why not do the whole entire comic like that, and get it done; then go back from beginning to end punching in the high definition panels that you elect? Sounds like a very time-effective way to work. What do you guys think?

The "knee caps" term is a generalization term used here. The only true cap or knee cap (patella) is a small piece that moves between the protruding femur (top half of the two halves referred to in the video as "knee cap") and below (bottom protrusion referred to as "knee cap") is the tibia bone.

I think I posted this in the chat but you can get it, when in stock, at ominouspress.com/products/bart-sears-drawing-powerful-heroes-brutes-and-babes but it's also available on Ebay at the Sleeping Giants store. I think they have 10 available last I checked.
