His "Excellency President Kevin Baugh" apparently started his own country inside the US called Molossia... We had to go see it to find out what it's all about.
As a note, you cannot just to go visit this place, you have to ask for permission first and get listed on the official tours they do. This usually only happens once a month a few months a year. Make sure you go on their website before you do anything and contact them for a tour :)

Except if the backing is the cookie dough, as long as they don't bake the cookies, they're fine. If they make paper money, that can still be traded in for cookie dough. Once they bake the cookies though, if they don't destroy the paper money, then it would be hyperinflation because the paper money no longer has backing.

Inflation works by a country printing more money so the currency has less backing. Giving cookie dough would be like giving gold to the US (if we were still on the gold standard). It wouldn't affect the currency in a negative way. The value of the money would either increase or stay the same if they stored it away in a vault and saved it in case of a depression.
I'm from Malaysia. Now we have a country with quite a similar name. I like that. 🥰

this reminds me of playing minecraft as a kid with my friends and making these towns/cities/nations on a private server and being semi-"in character" roleplay but also genuinely acting like a community even when we werent roleplaying, designated jobs and rules n stuff. its really cool that you find humans doing the same thing at different ages in different worlds and being able to have fun with it instead of it getting turned into some weird cult like some other communities tend to get. the president seems super chill to hang out with, just a man who turned his fun dream as a 15 year old into a reality :)

If hundred currency notes can buy 100 cookies available that means 1 note = 1 cookie.

What i know is that Venezuela ran short of money. So it printed alot of money meanwhile it's resources remained the same. So there were more currency notes for the same resources.

Nope, they deflated it. More cookie dough means less valora's for each pound (kg?) of cookie dough. Inflating it would mean to print more bills for each pound it ties its value to.

If the currency is backed by cookie dough, adding more cookie dough to the reserves would increase the value of the currency, not decrease it. Deflation not inflation.
@ThreeRunHomer if there is more of a product and the demand stays the same the value goes down. And if the worth of the currency is bound to the price of cookies that goes down, the value of the currency goes down. Inflation. Or am I wrong?
Mr. Q If a currency is backed by gold, and more gold is added to the nation’s gold reserve, the value of the currency goes up which is deflation not inflation. The same is true if the currency is backed by cookie dough.

The design of the molossian flag is very clever. Since it’s an upside down Sierra Leone flag, you don’t have to go through the trouble and cost of having your own flag printed. You can just buy an already existing Sierra Leone flag and flip it 🇸🇱
And we in Sierra Leone have since lodged a complain with the United Nations and have threatened to declare war on Molosia over that flag ☺️
