Cracking video. I’m moving up to Mackay very soon and will be positioned just 100m from a boat ramp so I’ll just need to get a boat. I’m surprised you didn’t land any coral trout.
Thanks for the kind feedback mate. So many good options out on the reef off Mackay! Big playground out there. In our previous video to whitsundays we got some big barcheek trout, but just couldnt get past the nannys! They were super hungry as you saw.
Why don't you go on and put yourself out there on a nice How To video to show us all your epic skills? But understandable if your best skills are stuck at judging behind a keyboard
@@chrishopkinson8442 - Dude what on earth do you think he was doing? He didnt waste that fish at all. What do you expect, to have every fish boiled down from head to tail as soup?
Cheers Brad, thanks for the kind comments and appreciate your support of the channel. Lots of preparation before hand, during and after that no one sees but it’s worth it! I love the adventure and sharing what the ocean has to offer! 😊
It really paid off mate. Loads of respect on your boat. Everyone helping out and looking after each other. Big Marco is absolutely stacked 💪 You’ll need to check his drag setting. He’ll pull their heads off.
Hey Johnny, was just at Airey for a couple weeks. Planning to do just what you have done :) I have a Grady 236 as well, just a lighter blue, have seen you out there off godly. Enjoying your videos

Hi John. I have just discovered your informative videos. I noticed fillets of mullet is your preferred bait whilst most anglers use freshly caught reef fish. Is mullet superior? Are they bought from tackle shops or caught by yourself? If bought, any particular brand or type I should consider?
Hi, thanks for supporting the channel and glad you find the videos informative. I generally use mullet fillet at locations where the small bait fish are hard to catch. I just buy mullet from my local seafood shop. Mullet is a very convenient and effective bait as its an oily fish. If you watch some of my 1770 videos you will see that I put on hussar fillets as well to target reefies. I find a combination of baits work well. :)
@@johnnychowjc thank you for taking the trouble to reply to my query. I have pretty much caught up with all your videos. Your best features are the bits when you explain what you do, why you do things and how it’s done. Doesn’t matter if it’s only your opinion and whether it’s right or wrong. Many, and most, fishing videos show long boring contents on winding in a hooked fish. I always fast forward these scenes as there is nothing to learn from them. Do keep up your good work.
@@johnnychowjc that will be great! It will definitely differentiate your videos from the many hundreds of fishing videos that mainly show anglers winding in fish …. How repetitively boring! …….all the same. Good luck and looking forward to your stuff.
Pretty sick clips Johnny. Your gunna blow up man. Hey a Question about the simrad. How does the sidescan go in say 30 to 50 mtr deep. I'm struggling to get genuine answers. Much appreciated
Hey Rob, I haven’t used side scan offshore much myself. I have friends that use it to find bait balls in 50m offshore and say it works well. I only focus on traditional sonar when I am fishing in the blue water. Sorry that’s probably not much help. Thanks for your support of the channel mate!! 😊

Some good fish mate. Well done. I think Marco needs to get some pants that fit and maybe a t shirt
