Bike Rafting in Taiwan

- In europe and the UK it's quite popular to combine rafting and cycling as a sport. You can bike cross-country to the edge of the lake, put the bike on your boat, cross the lake, put the boat on your bike, and keep going. This way you can really cover a lot of distance and overcome obstacles. Plus it's cool.
In Taiwan, this sport doesn't exist for geographical and legal reasons. There are few large lakes in Taiwan, and the lakes that do exisit, are all banned for boating.
I really wanted to try this, but with so much red tape surrounding the lakes, there aren't any calm water opportunities here. In Taiwan it has to be white water. But can bike-rafting be done on white water at all?
That's what we set out to discover. So we rode our Brompton bikes to the top of the river. It was very easy to load the equipment onto the back. And very quick to fold and unfold the bikes. That part just takes a few seconds.
It was also easy to put the bikes onto the front of the boat. They fold into a square about the same size as the tire, so it sits on the bow without many protruding parts. And there are no sharp edges that that would pop the boat.
The extra weight on the front does impact handling and reduce turning speed. To compensate for this you'll need to execute your turns earlier. This is easily managable for class 2 rapids, but big rapids with a lot of rocks should be avoided.
It's recommended to tie to bike on very tightly, so the weight doesn't shift as you go through rapids, and also to use a bike cover to prevent any possibility for the bike to snag on trees or paddles.
Otherwise this is a really fun and effective way to go paddling. Using a bike eliminates the need for AB cars, so actually it doesn't take longer to bike or to drive, and we only needed one car. The ride was also quite enjoyable.

這樣的泛舟教學真的很適合全家學習～也可以避免麻煩與危險！
這是很棒的嘗試。可以帶單車的好處是，有些行程就可以做原路進出的規劃，而不必還要規劃不同點進出的接駁的車子。比方說巴庫拉斯下孫海橋的行程。
水流速度看起來很快 請注意安全 看得我好緊張 😅

不過關於腳踏車，這樣擺設有幾個想法，一是水這樣沖刷車子是不是會增加保養的狀況，另外由於車子上有油會不會造成環境影響，所以基於這兩點，會不會在泛舟時，將車子放入防水套裡面，是否會比較好呢？
太帥了！如將腳踏車包袱起來像救生圈會不會比較好呢？

我想請問一下一個瘋狂的問題。你的大黃或小紅，有可能…充氣以後睡在裡面嗎？會問這麼無理的問題，是因為我在想一個從伊巴厚溫泉划到孫海橋的行程。但是這很明顯是一個多日行程而且要揹隔夜裝備。以輕量化為目標的話，我不知道把船充氣之後，有沒有可能取代睡墊，或更好的，取代帳篷。Just a crazy question.
所以 單身的人才能從事這個活動嗎?
