Fantastic video, always look forward to Fridays for these wonderful new entries. Although I am on the West Coast, I will have to venture to the East Coast to view the exhibition before it ends in March. This era of featured cars I find it very romantic and fascinating, makes me wish I could jump in a time machine and go back to those times and watch these true road gladiators race.

Great video! Loved Donald's comment about standing next to the cars and just breathing them in- reminded me of the five years I spent standing next to all the fabulous cars at the Revs in Naples, sharing stories with the guests. Thanks! 😊

I'd be thrilled just to ha a Pur Sang copy of the Alfa 2300. Just the sound of the supercharged 8 is incredible.

Great presentation. It's funny, I always thought silver cars represented Germany and white cars for Japan. Perhaps there were changes through the years.

Before 1933, the Alfa Tipo B was used by all european natives like the Bugatti 35/35B before. There was a Race Community in 1932 with Nuvolari from Italy, Caracciola from Germany and Chiron from Monaco.. At the Monaco GP Caratsch Hit a lamp post sinke that Heavy accident his Upper thigh was lose on the right leg. He had to be Lifted and positioned in his Silver Arrow by two mechanics..

Background was that Mercedes from 1930 to 1932 was out of any Money so that during Mille Miglia 1931 everything was private financed and assurance via Gerling Group in Germany..

Red was originally taken by Great Britain, they changed to Green when a race that could not be held in England, was instead held in Ireland, so they changed it to green to honour the host nation. Italy was originally black.

Just an eagle eye observation... Nivola didn't win at the 'Ring in 35 with an 8C-35 , it was an updated Tipo B. One of THE greatest Grand Prix drives ever, up there with Fangio's masterpiece at the 'Ring in 57.

A question if I may, to your knowledge has the Monza been to Lime Rock's vintage events? It looks suspiciously like the Monza I have photographed there many times. Thank you for the excellent episode!

The German Auto Unions and Mercedes racing cars were faster than Alfa Romeos in the 1930's. The Bugatti's, not so much. The Alfas were only able to beat the Mercedes and Auto Unions because the Alfas had better drivers.
