Reviewing second-hand motorhomes is an absolutely excellent idea.. These are much more affordable and available. I think that there must be a lot of second-hand motorhome retailers that you could visit and you don't have to put up with music, crowds etc. I think that Hymer B504 you start with is very nice. I would take out the two bunk beds at the back and use the whole rear area as the garage. I think maybe build some storage units where the upper bunk is.

I think I would do that too. Or maybe keep the top bunk as somewhere to put the stuff that normally goes on top of my bed during the day!
I think I am in a rather unique position as far as the second hand market is concerned as I do have the benefit of a bit of experience and a bit of linguistic ability!

Great idea to show what's around now. Ordering a motorhome today with China, South Korea and japan rapidly closing takes some faith, best to buy something now and enjoy it!!

I have now seen video and link of the newer version, liked it a lot, many good solutions at only 6 meters, three batteries I liked, and 700 kg of cargo, something I miss on my car is the deep double floor, I also have double floor, but only 15 cm deep, nice car, will be exciting to see what has happened since 2012 with colors, solutions and style, this 2018 model was very good.

It didn't make much difference in 6 years, it was nice. You say it is a big cost to change the front window, it goes on the insurance, at least for me. Interesting to see the other cars too, good video

In my experience the insurance will pay up to EUR1,000 or GBP1,000. The rest you pay yourself!

@@VanlifewithAlan Ok, my insurance covers everything from 200 Euro and up, engine, gearbox, everything is covered by the insurance that can happen to the car

@@royeirikandreassen6032 Are you sure there is no limit on the windscreen?

@@VanlifewithAlan No not 100%, should check, at my transport company it was always 200 Euro, the rest they covered on the cars, the front windows were not as expensive as on a motorhome

Although not mentioned, I feel like buying a used vehicle that either meets your needs or can easily be changed to meet your needs is a better idea than buying new. It is time to start decreasing our carbon foot print and while I know that not having an RV in the first place would be the best way to do that, it isn't a lot of fun!! I would always prefer a used vehicle over a new one. I also have purchased used cars before and have found that if it was maintained well it is a good idea as many of the kinks have been worked out.

Thanks for the last couple of videos showing the variety of available now recent models Alan! I've just recently been checking out some vintage or classic late 90's early 2000's Hymer , Carthago and Concorde semi and fully integrated motorhomes. Very intriguing value propositions when well taken care of. Just curious on which hold values longer than the others, better dependability etc. around that 20 year mark...

Hard question. I don't know the answer. All of them have some very nice and very expensive models from around 15 years ago. For 90s models it would be mainly Hymer.

For a 2012 model with this amount of km’s, the price seems very high isn’t it? I don’t know what the new price is though back in that time...

That would be quite a job to find out given the equipment package.

I like this. I imagine the bar in the shower is to hang up wet clothes after rain or washing them. Just an idea.

Good reviews however probably of no benefit to UK Buyers due to import duty and taxes that are added on

Have to say, that 6 metre Hymer is ugly as hell, the Nexxo is interesting though
