I found that this is not one of, but the best damn informative videos on RUclips that I have ever found. You my friend is exactly what a RUclips how too video should be. Not only do you sound like Danny McBride but you are so informative, no one would ever miss a single step in replacing a single part on there carb. Thank you and I will definitely follow you!
One of the best maintenance videos i have seen...a neighbour asked me to have go over of his kids 2019 z50 and now I am definitely going to try convince him to upgrade that CDI, thanks again.
The center piece on them plastic clips are meant to be pushed inward actually to release lol then popped out before installation and pushed flush when installed. Good video tho great info
Thank you so very much!!…got my Sons old Z50 out afternoon use in three years…had to go through it all …ended up being a blocked valve in the float tank…thank you!
I have a 2019 LTZ50 and the cdi out of my 2015 LTZ90 does work in the LTZ50 and increases the rev limit. The standard LTZ50 cdi is far too restrictive, the bike struggles to get up our driveway. Thanks for showing the Dyna paper with rev limits.
@Blair Dixon - good to know, I had read the LTZ90 ignitions would work, but had not confirmed that. 100% agree that the stock LTZ50 ignition is wayyyy too restrictive!
Thanks for the video, so the best way to remove the stock restrictions on an ltz50 is the use the Dynatek CDI? Did you also remove the collar on the clutch? There were no intake or exhaust restrictions on this ATV were there? I’m about to do this to my sons 2019. Thanks,
The stock ignition is a huge restriction and definitely seems to be the best way to increase the performance on the z50 IMO. I did remove the collar for my son last year and that helped as well. At the same time, I also removed 3 of the rollers from the clutch which seems to make it take off a little quicker. The intake/airbox does have a lid on it that could be removed (or holes drilled), and the stock exhaust does have an arrestor in it that could be removed (or holes drilled) - but that *may* require rejetting of the carb. Hope that helps
Awesome video! my buddy has an 03 ltz50 for his girls and the idle goes up and down up and down it has the dynatek cdi but none of the settings make a difference
I got the same ATV, my boys have owned it since new in 2019. I change the oil annually. They don’t ride a lot. I’ve never changed the final drive oil. It’s on my to do list. How often does everyone else change it? Thanks for the great video!
We change ours annually as well since it doesn't get ridden much any more (kids like the bigger quads now). IMO, oil change interval depends greatly on use vs. time.
Just a comment to remove those crazy plastic pins you just need to press (push in) the center with a small screwdriver and the pin comes right out. To install it back pull the center pin half way out invert the pin in the hole and press the center fish.
Yeah - I figured that out a few weeks after posting the video haha! Unfortunately - I can't edit the video without deleting it and then re-uploading :( - thanks for the feedback!
Unfortunately with these, there is no real "fuel shut off" with the stock petcock. There is either "on" or "prime". To drain the carb you have to do it manually by unscrewing the drain screw at the bottom/side of the carb and let the fuel run out of the bowl.
Hello I have one of these that we won and never used it .. it’s a 2013 but brand new.. out new battery in and no power what so ever .. just nothing ? Can’t figure it out.. no spark doesn’t even click with starter button
Just picked one of these up for my son can you tell me if choke down or up when running I've never had a bike with the choke like a lever, thanks in advance
Correct - Suzuki calls for normal 10w40 engine oil. IMO, I think that's o-k to use as long as its a non-synthetic 10w40 oil with no "friction modifiers" in it.
I don't believe this year/model has an oil filter unfortunately. If it does, I haven't been able to find it - and it's not mentioned anywhere in the service manual.
Are you still running the stock ignition/CDI? If so, the e-brake switch is wired into the CDI. You may have a wiring issue at the e-brake switch - I'd recommend pulling it apart and taking a look to see if there is a loose connection, broken wire, or a bare wire that is trying to ground out.
@@HottBoysRacing I bought a new one from suzuki and this is what it is doing. So I am sending it back and bought a Dynatek CDI Rev Ignition Box Suzuki LTZ50 Z50 LTZ 50 Removes Speed Limiter. Hoping this bypass all that junk
@@ronalddrzewicki5786 - good deal. Yeah bypassing the OE Suzuki limiter is a must IMO. If you still have issues after the Dynatek install, I would also recommend pulling apart the e-brake switch and hard wiring that circuit so that the e-brake isn't required to even start the quad.

Those plastic grommets work perfect just push them in and it pulls right out.

i guess I am kind of off topic but do anybody know of a good place to watch newly released movies online?
@Archie Milo i watch on Flixzone. You can find it on google =)
Thanks so much. You are a life saver.

Thanks! Sounds like your buddy's Z might have a carburetor issue or possibly an intake/exhaust tract leak.

On the 2019 - choke on is down

On those push pins you push in the center then they pull right out
Where did you get a dynatek for $200??? Seems like it’s for sale everywhere at $300 in 2024
I purchased it ~4 years ago. Unfortunately almost everything has increased in cost exponentially :(
What type of gear oil do you use? The manual reads as though you can use regular engine oil.
Correct - Suzuki calls for normal 10w40 engine oil. IMO, I think that's o-k to use as long as its a non-synthetic 10w40 oil with no "friction modifiers" in it.
Does this use your run of the mill Chinese motor like Polaris or Yamaha 90/110s
I'm honestly not sure - but likely.
any photos of how you trimmed the plastic to make the dynatek cdi fit under the seat better?
Yes - here's a couple of pictures of how I cut mine:

The pilot jet should be hollow correct?
Yes, it should have a tiny hole through the center.
Does the Z-50 not have an oil filter?

Nice video ! I was wondering if you got any social media I need some help with my Suzuki ltz50
Can you message me I have an issue with the same one. After I apply the brake and start it then realise the brake and stalls out

Is choke on up or down on those?
Down is choke on; up is choke off
What the relay under the seat?
I believe that's the starter relay

Do you have a suggestion where to get the manual. A site you trust
I think I downloaded mine from partshark.com - but if you want a hard copy, I'd check out eBay first.
You push the little middle piece in then remove. Don’t pry it out
