This is absolutely ridiculous and brutal to watch. We bought a new John Deere X590 from a dealer. They delivered it free of charge, full gas, completely set up and ready to mow
That one probably cost a lot more than his.

Just a couple weeks ago bought a Husqvarna 24K48D from a tractor shop about 35 mins from my house, they delivered it for free with a full tank ready to mow. Can't imagine driving a mower home. Even if you don't have a trailer rent a uhaul hell even tractor supply will rent you a trailer (and cheaper than uhaul).
You are a man after my own heart. I could totally see myself doing the exact same thing, from start to finish.

I do an instant oil change on that too because the engines got to have break in unless you want metal shavings in your cylinder walls
put 15 hours on the original oil no your not gonna have much metal shaving in your oil if you do id return it

I bought a crapsman riding mower, not a tractor. I use it to haul dirt and logs. Believe or not, I used it to pull 50 chord of wood out of a forest. I abused it and it still runs great. Its over 10 years old, garaged, and well maintained. I had to replace battery once, drive belt, and deck belt, and one tire actually blew apart. It has only one mower blade that also was once replaced. It is slowly rotting, but runs great. If you take care of them, they will last.
I tried to use my John Deere D110 for the same thing I now have a turd occupying a space in my barn they are not built the same anymore

Yeah. But I didn't mind that as much as 5 different employees came and went, they each helped me for a few minutes then disappeared. I didn't show all that, it took an hour and a half to buy it.

If you jump start a JD mower, you risk burning up a component that cost over 100 bucks to replace. It's in your better interest to disconnect the mower battery before charging.

Sparks were shooting out of my 20 year old MTD. Change all bearings in blade spindles. No more sparks.

You have to be careful some of the John deere's sold at Rona aren't actually John Deere the quality is low and has more break downs but some are real John deere's, the John Deere dealership is the way to go

You are wrong. All Are john deeres regardless of where they were purchased from. The tractors at the dealers are the same as the big box stores.

You just save a little money by getting a shorter warranty you probably won't need anyway on a JD mower. ;)

They are made in different factories with lower standards.
It's magic! When you got home with your new mower your old one was back in the yard sitting upright and not in the garage flipped upside down.

I'd have demanded a new battery. Running them that low damages the battery and reduces longevity.
Krankie V depending on the motor, believe it or not, briggs motors and other have a alternator under the flywheel so by time he got home, he could probably start it without jumping, and they wont give you a new battery even if you demand it

kubota never needs a jump start on there mowers plus they have free 5 year warranty,free hat and tshirt and free jacket
My truck broke down one summer and I had lawns to mow. My mom followed behind me as I drove my Toro 117 Groundsmaster 4 miles to where 3 of my lawns were. If I could have gone through a farm field it would have been 1 mile. Since my 117 had a bigger pulley on the engine it went 8mph. Thank God my credit is better now and I can drive newer trucks instead of cheap beaters.

I remember the "pink" push mower video, too. Fun times. Now a basic 42" is $3000. $1499 would get a basic one up till the shutdowns. Anyway, I carried a 54" zero turn toro on a 4x8 folding trailer with a rotten floor. Pulled it with a tiny Toyota echo without a problem. Unloading it I nearly flipped it though. There's a learning curve. 😬

Have x475 2004 1100 hours a great mower and snow plow.Back it up with a x720 400 hours.Mow 8 1/2 acre yards and plow 14 100 foot driveways in the winter.Never a problem with either tractor

Store bought mowers are cheap knockoffs never buy from Home Depot or lowes etc go to a dealer
You pay a little more bout it. But that is in anything u buy in a store. I find same shit alot cheaper on eBay.
You get the same Rider in Home Depot/Lowes and at the dealer. They don't make shit mowers n say he send this there and keep that one here. Just like cars , they leave the factory and shipped to sell. You may get the same mower 100$ cheaper if you go to dealer or ya may pay 200$ more. World's about money.
+Tracy Gun'z actually the mowers at Home Depot are a complete different model than anything John Deere would sell at their dealer. Anything from John Deere will start with an X. Home Depot models are much lower quality
Joe Collins yes and no John Deere makes them specially for places like Home Depot Etc. They may put some cheaper part on to keep the price down but are still built by John Deere.

Lmao! I had a D140 that I just sold to get a zero turn. 405 hrs on it and still had original deck belt. Not one single issue for nine yrs! Just oil changes, a few plug changes, and air and fuel filter's.

10 yrs 🙀. I just put my old Murray 12hp 38” cut out to pasture but it still ran. And I had and used it for 22yrs.

They use the worst cheapest batteries they can find, even the Craftsman YT4000 lawn tractor I got in 2010 the battery was the first failure, it didn't even last a year, and it was supposedly a diehard, yeah right. I now have a $40 Bi-Mart battery in it, its been fine for the past 3 years, actually has enough cranking amps to start it even in cold weather unlike the original battery that wouldn't even try.
No trailer, No problem. Lol

It's Home Depot Rick! HORRIBLE service or NONE! Plus, how many carts of garbage or things like returned drywall etc did you have to navigate just to get out of the store? Plus they are ALWAYS dirty,Been in several in PA two in DE and one in MD, all the same, people are too. I will only go there if the deal is insanely good and have two young, strong helpers. The only reason that when you first started it it was sounding really funky is because the gas was just running through the carburetor and tryna get it ready to run.
I wish everyone would shut up about box store John Deere lawn tractors not being real. They're real! They sell the same models are JD dealerships. I will say had you bought it from a dealer they would have delivered it...for free.
Spenser Hawk you are correct about the department store models being sold at dealers, but they are not made by John Deere. But at a dealership they also sell mowers made by John Deere that are much better quality then these cheap department store models. The good mowers are made in Horicon Wisconsin. If it doesn't say it was made in Horicon on the serial number plate, it's not made by John Deere.
How long before this ride on gets the blame as well & ends up with ‘for sale ‘ sign,plus the mowing rocks sharpens blades,classic haha!

It’s a MTD with a John Deere name on it. If you want a true John Deere you have to get on at a John Deere implement dealer. They will be made by John Deere not MTD
They are all made by John Deere. Only difference is the prep is better at dealer. My local John Deere dealer will price match Lowe’s and Home Depot. So I bought from dealer. I prefer to buy local when I can
crjengr I don’t know who told you that, but my cousin works for MTD and the cheaper John Deere they make there. This is how you tell if it don’t have a Kawasaki engine in it it was made by MTH. Our Deere dealers around here doesn’t have anything under $4000.00 They even told me a long time ago that MTD took over the cheap line of lawnmowers.
