As much as I like playing Cap, I find he's just loaded with all these small issues. The slam attack, not having your shield in the air, the delay for your shield after dropping it (even if it's fully charged,) walking backwards with your shield, etc. I love his disruptive playstyle, but there can be issues at times.
They need to fix the fact that projectiles will hit captain america while the shield is up and he is walking backwards. This needs tp be brought up. It is easly reproducible if you have someone in your practice room pick hawkeye and shoot your feet as he walks backwards. If you are going forward with the shield up and someone shoots cap's feet, he deflects it.
this might be a bug, but I can't reproduce it... I went in practice mode, stood in front of shooting bots and walked backwards, the shots were blocked... splash damage may be different?
@ytubeanon it doesn't work with the bots, you need another player to do it. I only tested it with my friend who used hawkeye.
So... I wasn't crazy. I was wondering what was up with that. Hadn't realized the full pattern. Nico job.
Noticed today Dr Strange was just shooting me through the shield
They need to make his melee able to be bound separately from his normal attack as well. I'm tired of getting my 4 shield throws against a Strange or Magneto, and can't do damage to them until I throw all 4 shields and can resume punching. I want to be able to choose to punch or throw.

Just sprint don't turn it off n u stop throwing the sheild and only punch when ya wanna throw walk backwards or to the side when fighting strange
the worst thing is that if captain cant block with his shield while run jumping and it was a conscious choice, you may as well just have put diving strike on the right click.
You are so right! That actually happens a lot. It took me a few games to realize why I am "jump/dashing", And the shield upwords
If they really want to bind it to something permanently, they should've bound it to the jump action again... That's the only thing that would make sense in this scenario. Really weird, hopefully the devs address this because you're absolutely right.

Rocket gives characters a double jump. They just need to allow the melee button to only attack and not slam.
EDIT: Actually that wont work either, cuz the melee should be used to NOT throw shields in order to hit through shields like Strange's... lol idk what they can do...
@@SlammaJamma24 Could bind it to the reload button, it's what I've assigned the zip-to version of Spider-Man's E for the rare occasions I decide to play him

not blocking while in air or instantaneously, like Dr. Strange, are the most annoying things. not sure that jumping while throwing shield tosses seems as important cuz your speed advantage comes from being on the ground while chasing or retreating
@@ytubeanon trust me it only helps. Also you can't jump to melee a storm or iron man with ur diving strike active, but without it you can harass if they get to close lol
The freedom to choose between shield throws and diving would be huge. You could be on the verge of finishing a target super jump in the air finish them with a shield throw and then dive out or onto the next target. That greatly improves his versatility and efficiency. With that said Cap definitely should be able to block in the air as well. Makes no sense why Strange can fly and look down with his 800hp non cooldown to use shield, that shit is egregious.
Being forced to use your escape for no reason is so bad.
Things to improve on Cap:
-further increase ult charge up time
-allow shielding while sprint jumping
-bind dive strike to alt instead of left click
As a Cap main, those are my only gripes at this point with him. He doesn’t do much damage but he also doesn’t need to imo.
I feel the same!! Its just these little things with the UI TBH
There’s a few heroes where the key binding is borked and the game has two things bound to the same key bc they won’t interfere but if you try to change it it breaks it and now you need two buttons for what was on one button. Very frustrating.
Caps dash/charge should be able to go up or down as well
Thank u for making a video on this, i have bringing up all of these things about cap in other vids. Hopefully the devs will give him a proper buff that adresses these which i have always stressed as his true issues.
Imagine being able to throw your shield mid air and having the option to dive strike if needed would be a big game changer for us cap mains
The more bugs I see on Cap, the more it reinforces my belief he is the Reinhardt of this game. Not in his exact kit, but in how he feels to play, in that you have to put up with so much pain while playing him
I hate the fact that when I'm melee-ing Doctor strange, my melee turns into a projectile and I can no longer deal damage to him. One of my first issues with cap, looked in the settings but could not set a separate binds for Sentinel Strike. Which is is HILARIOUS because even Spiderman can set his web pull and pull towards onto different binds.
The same move that has a different contextual responses. Spidey lands a tracer and gets the Pull Towards, Cap lands melee and gets shield throws. So why can't Cap have seperate buttons? So dumb
The cool down on the shield makes no sense either.
The bigger issue is that his shield doesn't work against projectiles when walking back. That needs fixed first. The thing I do in your situation though for now is just take toggle off sprint and use your normal jump and toss the shields. Not great I know lol.

I would like to see fearless leap jump height increase just a smig. I’m finding a lot of ledges on many maps that look like he’s about to reach, but comes short
This is so true! I just uploaded a short video of me fighting iron man and I tried to melee him in mid-air and just dove into the ground across the room because it’s the same binding. This fix would make him so much better and smoother to play
start asking every captain player you see to report this as the bug that it is
I have never played Cap, so I didn't know what his controls were. I had already figured out the problem before you even said it just by looking at the UI. That's pretty egregious.
I would love to see this fixed. But as a PS5 player, I assume the reason is controller’s lack of buttons.
The jump+shield would be such a good quality of life improvement and buff.
Still a very easy fix: Simply bind the dive action to the jump button too. Captain America doesn't have a double jump, the jump button is essentially useless while he's in the air, why not give it that function? It also makes more sense IMO
They can also bind the dive strike to the shield block since he doesnt block airborn
I think you can melee cancel into a jump and do at least two swings before diving strike. Although your point still stands and are correct - you should be able to bind it to another button
Helping the algorithm so more people see this bc Cap has so many small clunky problems.

DUDE YES NOT BEING ABLE TO PUT UP YOUR SHIELD WHILE SPRINT JUMPING IS SO WEIRD. It's hard enough to deflect key ultimates, I don't need to be held back further when other tanks can so easily eat those iron man and magneto ults
I actually really like the shield throw cancel tech, I found that its easier to spam the attack button, and only focus on timing your sprint when you hear the shield connect, I have no idea what they should do to help with the slam being on the same putton as your primary. But i agree with everything else,
1-Letting cap jump while holding his shield up
2- Letting him continue attacking with the melee part of his attack even if he already landed the first 2 melee hits
3- FIXING THE BUG THAT MAKES YOUR SHIELD NOT WORK WHILE YOU WALK BACKWARDS WHY IS THIS STILL IN THE GAME HELLO?????
4-And having the option to bind the slam on something else, just like how spiderman can choose to either pull you to him or himself to you, regardless of if yo uare webbed or not, like they HAVE the ability to do so idk why they havent yet
Honestly I wish the collision for the dive was smaller because whenever there’s a ledge it’ll land on the ledge instead of the ground below where the indicator is

I remember once i jumped after a spiderman, he was so low must have seen life flashing before his eyes, then zooom i just dive strike somewhere lmaoo
I honestly wish Venom's version was bound to his attack button like Cap's I like them bound together.
Also think his shield throw ability should be weaker but with no cool down letting him have a melee and ranged option for primary attacks.
Its the same problem with spiderman ''get over here' and his grab binded in the same key by default lol

i wish i could up vote this more. i thought i was crazy for not being able to change it. also they need to remove the cool down for cap being able to lift his shield, dr. strange doesn't have one and he his shield has more HP.
The only way I know how to attack in the air while you have diving strike is you have to press jump and attack at the same time. It will dive if you let go of the attack button sadly.

I think he should be able to block mid air like other tanks
This is especially anoying for me cause i like to preserve my diving stike for reteating, diving a different enemies to combo, or dive to my team while ulting. But EVERY time i got nock up, the floor brakes, or accidently walk on a jumpad, I just wasted my diving strike, and no longer have escape options.
Def messes that up. I typically will use the dash to escape and either dive to engage or run in engage then dive immediatly to someone else to cause a lot of chaos then back out when i start taking heat.
Similar problem with wall climb on spiderman, i just want to double jump man
They need to fix Cap's bug when he walk backwards with his shield up.

Because it's honestly a non-issue. You only dive if you have your Dash up and are using the super jump. You can still jump and throw your shield.
I've never ran into this diving strike 'bug'. He has other issues that are more pertinent. Like not being able to throw your shield while dashing.
Tbh that makes it even less likely for a player to see flaws in a character, if you only play one character, you assume the rest of the roster has to put up with similar jank or don't even see it as jank.
@@Nevario1bro doing a large jump and being unable to throw his shield is hugely bad. I was gonna learn Cap until I saw this. If I'm going to accidentally dive most of the time, that's literally unplayable.
I main Cap, and personally I dont find problems with cap as of now but what you say can open up a lot of possibilities especially against airborne characters. Maybe the devs had that in mind but thought that he'd lean more into the dps category if he had more offensive capabilites, so they handicapped his shield throws?

try to trow shilds with the meele button while jumping (not with M1, rebind the V)

Diving strike has some weird stuff to it in general. Like, sometimes i will have the ability off cooldown, be in air and it just still wont let me do it. Ill just melee the air. Or it will just lie to you about where its gonna land.
@@TylorHuebner sounds more like a network ping delay or a problem with your button input. I haven't had that issue personally

The dive strike should be fixed. But holding shield up and having fast movement is too overpowered imo. Makes sense to slow him if he uses shield
Its the only good thing about his ult tho.
Why? His shield is relatively weak. The movement becomes less powerful in higher ranks.
@Nevario1 well I know I don't want a cap jumping at me full speed and I can't shoot him. Lol. U can't kill him with his shield up. I have to shoot his feet. It's already annoying with him slow. I def don't want him full speed with it
He wouldn't be op with those changes cause his dmg is still a bit shy compared to others, but he is great to harass and distract.

Nah I hate the fact that I'd u jump on a low health strange u cant kill him cause only your 1st too attacks will do damage. After that his shield will block your shield throws cause u can't mele any more.
Imo theyre prolly scared to really fix cap because he has potential to be such a steamrolly character.
If you give him damage on top of his mobility he will be a monster but if you fix his defensive issues his mobility will make him virtually unkillable.
Whatever you do for him, he becomes annoying to deal with, and i bet it makes them hesitant to tweak him.

There’s so many QOL problems with this game and so many problems that have been solved decades ago regarding hero shooters and third person shooters that this game just gets completely wrong.
I’m pretty sure they hired a bunch of college kids to develop this game to cut costs because even hi-rez has higher quality coding, mechanics, and net code. The only saving grace is the graphic style, marvel heroes, and the hero kits are satisfying to use.
I love the game, but it has deep and serious flaws from the ground up. Am I still going to play it? Yeah. Am I still going to complain to make the game better? Yes.
One teeny tiny buff i would ask for is,can he not pant like a dog after sprinting some,i get you're 100 years old but still....
I wanna love Cap so bad but there are just so many problems with him. I feel like they just make the fixes everyone wants he would at least stop being the laughingstock of the Vanguard category. They don’t have to up his damage or anything. Just make him make sense to play.
