@Game lover I'd say is more of a Silverash and Mlynar. They're both pretty similar, but one has more utility and versatility (Mudrock/Silverash), while the other has more raw damage/stats (Penance/Mlynar). I don't think penance can replace Mudrock in stuff like CC due to her being reliant on her stats, but she definitely is better in places like IS and most general content.
Her s2 also has 60% damage reduction the highest of all in the game And s3 just immediently gives her 5k barrier hp like its nothing and it goes amazingly with her 2nd talent Her barrier has max 13k hp wich is insane
True but where most defenders need a healer and a def buff, she just casually tanks the whole stage, run project red skill 2 and its not even a challenge.
@@slonik0002 I know, just that her gimmick is mostly against group of easy to kill enemies to keep her shield up. Due to that, one wouldn’t expect her to be able to handle a tanky enemy, and she did it pretty well.
i dont know if her shields have def, if it doesnt, any fast attacking enemy should be able to chew through it easily, and HP might release enemies that can silence your ops

I mean, did you see what happened to Patriot? Normally no one stands against Patriot when blocking. Literally, everybody who blocks Patriot, dies instantly or gets left with 1 HP, then gets killed... But Penance... Oh my... She just solo Patriot and he's whole army without loosing 1 HP!

When I first saw Penance, my thoughts were that how good/bad she is will entirely depend on her stats and how big her Barrier could get (We already had the percentile values for her Skills)... Turns out she's freaking absurd, packing over 4000 Health, nearly 900 Attack, and her Barrier going up to 300% of her Max HP!
What really made it sink in how busted she is was not that she solo’d Patriot, but that she killed the armored mortar boi all the way on the other side of the map and didn’t bat a fucking eye. You touch, you die, it’s that simple.
At the end of the day, mud isn’t overwhelmingly powercrept, both have different utilities, and ways to tank dmg. Use whoever u want cause at the end of the day, either cannot solo maps by themselves unless its a perfect situation.
The ultimate test case: bring her to chapter 10 and see if she can tank both of the tentacle swarm and the nuke at the same time. Mudrock can survive both for a while, but if the enemy is too many, she will still get overwhelmed by the nuke as her barrier is wasted on the mobs.
Why do you think showcases are called that? Because they show the operator from his strong side avoiding any negative traits, so here you will not see how she stands against the Patriot in his first phase, in the tenth-eleventh chapter, against Mudrock, etc.

in term of dps, mudrock of course get powercreeped by her but from survivability and easy to use, mudrock better than her. look at the first map when she lost her shield because of lack enemies to kill and her skill still cooldown. sometimes you need exact time to use her perfectly, meanwhile for mudrock you just have to use her s2 and done. Usually you don't need bard operator or operator that can regen health if you use mudrock. well, I think penance has potential to became strong ops in SSS since 4k+ arts damage is real deal lol
I think... the situation that make penance hard to use it when he fight with enemies that have huge damage in every attack but slow aspd cause it make her difficult to gain the shield or activate skill since her s3 is sp per hit
Supah please. She's a side upgrade. One is offensive which trades their self healing for really good dps, and one is defensive where they can self heal, do still good dps, but is a much better laneholder. Yes, in some cases Penance is better, but Mudrocks strong advantage is her aoe atk and self heal. So, like Texalter and Phantom, they fit in different categories.

So... how does she fares in CC map? My 1st impression of penance is that she is completely the opposite of mudrock, penance favoring low attack & high aspd. While mudrock can nullify 1 instance of 16k damage, penance can tank 16k damage if given the chance to regen her barrier If she faces a slow-hard hitting enemies (example: golem) alone without canon fodder, penance wont have time to stack her barrier & since her s3 is 20sp defensive charge without initial sp, she would most likely dead before her s3 is up. She also dont work well with other dps ops due to her needing to last hit to gain her barrier Tho i can see that she is completely busted if we have her on cc8, with its early trash mob & lazurite archer giving her constant sp recovery while penance may also reflect damage to the archer
I think her biggest issue (apart from DP) will be HP tags. Every hit to her HP is a hit to her barrier as well. Granted, even with -50% her max is still effectively 9k HP, but getting it to those values may be hard as she won't get much barrier initially, meaning easier to break, thus no thorns, so she can't fight as well, yadda yadda yadda.
On the context of cc? Mostly No. With enemy buffed to insane degree & ops being nerfed, damage nullify is just better (ex: defense crusher & golem on cc). Also she does arts damage so, more occasional niche benefits

I'm pretty sure her thorns effect scales off her ATK, and due to the +400% atk boost she gets, that's why her reflect does more damage.
