I’ve been having same issue with my C4 remote: never had a issue with my C2 remote. You can hold home and return for 5 seconds to disconnect remote and re connect it to tv helped me. Haven’t had the 1080p issue with my PS5 Pro tho.
I was going to say the same thing maybe he likes playing games without vrr on or full 4K settings? I have no handshake issues once I maxed out resolution then set to auto all the settings on the PS5 pro
I have the same problem with ps5 pro! I had to go into compatibility mode and try to rearrange the settings, momentarily turning off hdcp. Now if I set the resolution in 4K I have less, not none, problems. But I noticed also some audio issues. Is this a problem in the ps5 pro or the tv (LG g4 in my case)? The normal ps5 had no problems at all
My opinion. You have a bad hdmi port. My first brand new G4 had an issue with the screen randomly going black. It could go hours or even a few days. I am under the impression it was with hdmi 2 which uses my soundbar. I got another new replacement G4 and it has been perfectly fine since with that issue never happening again. I have also never seen this resolution random drop issue you are having. I have had my PS5 Pro since launch day. If it continues with you, I highly recommend making a warranty claim or exchange if you are in a return period. I have my PS5 Pro and XSX using hdmi ports 3&4. HDMI 2 soundbar and then I have a hdmi switch on 1 for my Apple TV 4K box and Switch OLED. The magic remote is definitely bunk with this G4 like you said. It doesn’t feel right at all. I have a LG CX and C1 as well in my house and those feel fine. I always hated the magic remote anyways as it feels like a kids toy. A premium remote should be included with the G line since it’s their top tier offering.
What source where you watching wen TV blanked out? Mine did this when watching sky. I thought was a bad HDMI but turns out its the sky box. After the new update its stopped happening
are you sure the magic remote thing isnt just an issue with you remote. i have the same model and dont have this issue. But wish they would have an option to disable it 😅
So using HDMI 3 got rid of the handshake issue?! I've tried HDMI 1/2 on my unit and the issue occured on both... Trying out HDMI 3/4 next and update the LG to see if it's fixed!!!
So I've retested and it seems all HDMI ports show the same issue. As I suggested this is most likely a software issue, bc 120hz is always detected correctly. Only the correct resolution has some sort of handshake issue.. I'm trying out different setups to see whats causing this?! It's not a defect, it's something with the software either of PS5 or LG.... more likely LG!!
LG=Lifes Garbage After my experience with my C1 I would never buy another POS from LG Web OS SUCKS. The processing on this TV is the worst I have ever seen. I get all kinds of problems with artifacting and it looks like stir fried shit. LG sucks and sucks you in with carefully curated demo videos on store displays but then you get the TV home and realize you have been swindled. And there are so many other issues besides the artifacting. Flaky CEC, flaky ARC, non working voice assistants. Light borders and flickering borders all around the screen. LG replaced every part on my TV 3 times including the panel and it solved exactly ZERO issues. Just buy a Panasonic or get a Bravia Tizen and web OS are trash and I will never buy another Korean TV as long as I Iive, 0/10. I wanted a nice TV that just works but what I got was a major headache and pain in my ass ,oh and it takes an eternity to boot up too. The only redeeming thing about my C1 is that I can root it now and get homebrew channel otherwise I would trash it.

Have you tried setting the playstation 5 pro resolution to 4k only instead of automatic to fix the changing resolution issue?

The issue occurs on all HDMI ports equally. This ain't a bad unit, clearly a software issue either on PS5 or LG...

I have black screen every now and then and also invalid input. I have to disconnect the hdmi and plug it back in. This is on standard PS5.
