I hope you consider making a "how to wire up and program your LEDs" video. You make very high quality content, its concise, easy to follow, and very interesting. I hope you keep at it, and your channel keeps growing :D
I have a few videos in mind - the ones that I mentioned are already in the works, but I think basic LED programming would be fun to cover, even though its not for everyone :)
This is gonna be my new favourite channel. Concepts are explained in an easy to understand and concise manner. Production is top notch too. Looking forward to more content
Love this man, you made my electrical engineering class way more engaging + fun, and you gave me some ideas for projects especially through installing a solar powerbank.
Really informative and thank you for the video :) it's good to see you making videos and I love the silly parts, reminds me of why I love Kamui Cosplays videos so much! It's good to see you having fun and throwing in some funny effects. Keep it up 💛
Thanks, no nonsense straight to the point info for beginners and even intermediate. As I said in my other comment(s), your channel is truly under rated. Wishing for you to get bigger n success 🌹
You are AMAZING! I've been nerding out on your videos all day. Thank you so much for all your knowledge and for making this information feel so acessible.
Seriously needed this rundown - there are so many products out there and it’s hard to figure out what to look for! This broke it down really well, and I really appreciate it! Also look at this absolute giga-Chad over here linking like a million products for both UK and US viewers… Thank you for your service, sir. I have a costume project using LEDs that I desperately want to get started on before I lose motivation, but I was having trouble finding cheap LEDs that weren’t also garbage. You must be the best Mercy cosplayer ever because you’re my savior. 🥹
I wish i would have found this video earlier, just started with leds and almost gave up when i tried to soldier the 4 contacts of an led strip together (it worked but it was really tideous) and since i just need white i will absolutely get my hands on a just white led strip. Also good to know that there are several densities :D thanks for this easy to understand and so helpfull video, well done :D
This is a great channel, every informative and I couldn't careless about cosplay, I just like DIY stuff, hopefully the algorithm will make you justice in the near future.
I would love to get your opinion on using Noods (LED filaments) or even laser wire, EL wire or any other things like that. I particularly trying to do a lot with 12V systems myself, but I love seeing the cosplay application too!
What do you suggest for lighting shapes? I was told to look at EL lighting. I want an even illumination for a 5" square area. Do you have any other lighting suggestions?
great video! i've been trying to study led lights for my dress and then I discovered your channel! i am learning so much! one question tho, if I have 5m led strips with Input Voltage of DC12V, will it light up with a 12V Battery box with 8pcs of 2AA Batteries? I really hope you can respond. ☺️
Thank you for this tutorial! I'm wanting to make a cosplay of V1 from Ultrakill, and was curious to see how I can get LEDs for the wings and other details. In your opinion, what would work best for illuminating pieces of acryllic?
You can use WLED for digital LEDs without any coding skill (WS2812B strip) + a cheap and small version of ESP32 + a 330 ohm resistor It would have a USB connector able to power the microchip + up to 60 full white LEDs with one power cable (using 5v pin) ; It would be handy to connect to most 1A powerbank
0:23 Damn, i hate you for that setup! XD LOL 2:46 Straight up goof ball! I have a custom cosplay I need to make and I need to do more of a study on these LED's. Time to dive into the rabbit hole!
Hello! I drive a scooter and I want to have turning lights, but I don’t like any of the ones I see online. I’ve been thinking of making my own helmet with leds at both sides, but I’d like to know- is it possible to, with small batteries and a remote control with buttons for left and right, program it and make it work? Thank you!!
What would you need to consider if you work with 5 individual 1m-long digital stripes? Can the Arduino supply power directly to them? Or is it only sending digital signals and the power is supplies by a dedicated source??
Hey, i know I'm late to this video, but i started a project with digital led's and by calculation I'm going to need 40 amps just for my shield 😬. Now this is calculated at 100 luminosity and white light. Can i still use a 3,7v lipo with 4400mAh with a max output of 1A on lower settings or should I invest in some bigger li ion batteries? All of these with a 5v stepup of course
I'm looking to incorporate RGB LED strips into a cosplay, however I require that specific colour for 3 separate pieces. Would I need multiple LED output jacks? Or is it possible to set the colour, and then remove it to set the colour on another separate piece? Sorry if that didn't make sense haha
i have an idea for a cosplay that will require LED's which switches between two colors using a switch or something i assume i should use analog RGB strips
Im looking for some really bright LED strips that will light up a whole room when placed behind a tv and also arent spotty. Do they exhist? Or am i asking too much?
Hi, just saw your video great stuff, new to led lighting I need some assistance with a wifi led controller hook up, on the output side has DAT1 DAT 2 GND V+, can you explain to me what dat 1& 2 means thanks.
I think for the most part all of them are nearly equally bright, even comparing larger to smaller LEDs. Your best bet is to buy the densest (most LEDs per meter) strips - or looking for strips with multiple rows of LEDs (they look more like belts than strips cause theyre so wide lol)
I'd be keen on vids about how to program the addressable lights, I have almost zero programming knowledge (though I have fixed programming problems for friends by logic I don't know any code anymore).... Like I'm solid on copy pasting stuff haha if the code exists but otherwise I don't have a clue.... Im super keen on doing programable lights
hi so i have a few questions as to what leds i will need to buy for a cosplay im working on. im currently building kaneki's kagune from tokyo ghoul and i wanted to put some red lighting in it to make it look like the his kagune when its active in the anime it almost looks like there are veins of light threw the kagune that pulsate and i would love to acheive that effect but im still unsure as to what lights would be best. i dont need it to change colors or anything just red is fine but i would like to make it so it can pulaste. if you have any tips or know what would be best that would be greatly apreciated
Maybe consider using as dense LED strips as you can? Otherwise if you want something smooth and 'vein-like' looking, you might need to look into fiber optics or EL wire, for a more diffused, even look :) For pulsing you can get an off-the-shelf 12V RGB strip controller, it will have some basic animations built in, and they do not cost a lot!

I believe Kamui Cosplay has made a couple LED videos that might spark your interest, like this one

30 seconds in and I can already tel that your channel is criminally underappreciated. Gonna sub on PRINCIPAL ALONE.
Started playing automatically and I'm definitely using this channel for my tutorials from now on!

Love this. Thank you for the info. We need this for our project!
Wow, this video was both super interesting and so entertaining. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us! 😊
Just found your channel... Love your edits!

Had to sub! I want to create a led panel around 10” tall and maybe 20” wide and diffuse it.

Aw I'm so happy to hear!!! And -- if the battery holder connects them in serial (one after another) then 8x1.5V = 12V, yes! :D
Thank you for this tutorial! I'm wanting to make a cosplay of V1 from Ultrakill, and was curious to see how I can get LEDs for the wings and other details. In your opinion, what would work best for illuminating pieces of acryllic?
I think edge-lighting is the way to go - that way you will get an evenly lit surface with minimal thickness :)
You can use WLED for digital LEDs without any coding skill (WS2812B strip) + a cheap and small version of ESP32 + a 330 ohm resistor

i haven’t looked at all your vids yet, but do you have a vid about using multiple mini sensors with multiple individual led strips?
Love your channel thank you!!!
I would like to use some of these lights for a faux leather vest or something the thickness of a jacket. Which is best? It is for a costume.

Thanks for the content. It was fun
What lighting would you use for a tight costume which lighting would be near the skin, on the inside of the material

I need help to find the best digital rbg for permanent holiday lights and how I can set them up

If you need 40A and you provide 1A, you're 39A short xD
Even if you estimate HALF (20A), that's 19A short... :)
@@Zibartas li ion it is
did it work?

Sorry if that didn't make sense haha
If you need to have 3 separate parts - you will need 3 controllers- if you wanna have a single controller you'll need to connect the parts somehow :)
I'm planing to do a godzilla costume, in witch the dorsal plates shine when you press a button, what kind of LED would be good for me to use?
You are very smart 👍
You are a saint and I love you
Thank you!

Saw my name in the title. Figured I would post a comment
Are most types of LED strips installed with resistors?
Hi! What is that little black thing you used in 2:08 to connect the wires to the battery?
It's just a 9V battery connector - if you look for them online you'll be able to buy them for pennies :)
Hi, just saw your video great stuff, new to led lighting I need some assistance with a wifi led controller hook up, on the output side has DAT1 DAT 2 GND V+, can you explain to me what dat 1& 2 means thanks.
What rgb of those are the brightest? Can you recommend? Money is not a problem, what are the brightest rgb led strips?

How do you run WLED on arduino?
HAHHAHA Great video! Great sense of humour
Digital rgb? Aren't these called addressable rgb
LEDs with onboard chips addressed by a digital microcontroller :D
time to reactivate my school programming skills... Has Arduino a special code?
It's a flavor of C, the IDE and libraries take care of most of the heavy lifting anyways though ;D

anybody have a link to some very bright, multicolored, led strips that would work on a 9v?
no
