This kid came in and had a Bogut-like impact down low. THATS the low post presence we've been missing since Bogut was here blocking shots, setting good screens, making nice passes, and being an absolute MENACE on the glass
It was nice to see not just the finishing around the rim, which TJD is really skilled at, but the vision and dishing were superb. If we have a big that can finish above the rim AND can dish to cutters, guess what, that opens up more space for Steph, Klay, and Kuminga, which is always a good thing
I think this was one of those rare games that changes the whole dynamic of a team. Look at the 5 players on the floor at the end... that's the new Warriors.
Don't forget about Podz who left the game on an injury. He'll be playing big minutes down the stretch. He's already a better overall player than Paul, and a better fit for this lineup - better shooter, way better defender and rebounder (offense and defense), and he has good playmaking skills.
Crazy thing is his numbers has been like this all year...steve kerr watched him protect the rim against zion & fox multiple times & benched him for 20 games because of it
Huge contribution from TJD tonight. He deserves more playing time, he brings a physical+athletic presence that neither Looney or Saric can offer. And he's not a wide-eyed kid, he's older and more seasoned in some ways than both Kuminga, Moody and of course Podziemski also. He may not have an impact every night, but he deserves the opportunity, he's solid and checks boxes the Warriors often desperately need.
I like TRACE in the 2nd Unit so that he can read other teams' play when he comes off the bench hes already understood his role....bench players are not just substitutes they're Impact players
His basketball IQ is over the top. He seems to always make the right play. Kerr should give him more trust. He is a rookie, but at 23 yo, he is mature enough to understand everything what Kerr asks him to do.
Yeah I remember that, actually got goose bumps when he said that and I utter a silent prayer that he should be good if not better than he was given credit for...57th? Wtf, that's insulting to this wonderboy...

1:46 THE BLOCK HEARD AROUND THE WORLD: TJD blocks Jaylen Brown slam down attempt. 👀 Probably one of the best blocked slam dunk attempts that I've ever seen.
If this guy is not in the starting lineup soon, the Warriors are finished. He provides height, length, and athletic ability which the team sorely needs
Again, Kerr giving Trayce Jackson-Davis DNPs for 25 straight games is basketball malpractice! Looney had no business being in the starting lineup past the beginning of November.
TJD is a ball hawk. With Wiseman, it seems like he didn't know where the ball was half the time and out of position, so that he was as ineffective as the invisible man.
loney is -19 and trace is +25 on this game thats a big sentiment how impactful he is, start him instead of Loney. I love looney but at this time he is hurting the whole team with how he play, reduce his minutes and give more minutes to Jackson.
@@cowboy7170that is not the biggest problem. He was never a good scorer but he could get away with his great defense and rebounding. But now his defense got worse and that makes him complete liability
TJD is a two ways player. In my POV, he's the center piece to build around over kuminga, moody and Podz. He's unique because he is both a lob threat and roller to basket. Lob threat guys generally are not good roller due to high center of gravity. His tree trunk legs help him to get spacing.
Coach Kerr, honor what you said about those who make an impact will stay on the floor. The baskets under and around the rim by this kid would have been blocked or missed shots if they were by Looney. We appreciate Loons but we are trying to win.
That was my first time seeing him play. I agree. He looks like having a great IQ for the game, moves and plays somehow very efficiently and purposefully. Now, as part of the 2nd unit, he has the chance to learn from CP3, but he already looks like a great longterm fit alongside Curry and Thompson.
People just finding out about Jackson Davis let’s me know they didn’t watch him at Indiana that’s y I wasn’t worried we didn’t get a big in free agency It’s early in the season guys relax
I watched TJD play many games for Indiana University. His superior performance as an NBA rookie does not surprise me at all. What does surprise me is that no team drafted him in the first round. He is smart, quick, a great passer and shot blocker, and works harder than just about any player I have ever seen. Congrats to Golden State for snatching him up -- you guys got the steal of the draft.
What Lacob needs to know that some of the old Dubs vets had to be traded away for them to get more mins. DAVID Lee was traded away for Green and Monta was moved for Klay. We need to move on from Dray and definitely Loon.
TJD needs to watch out for Draymond when he returns coz he might be the next teammate that gets punched for taking his starting spot lol him or Kuminga
TJD should always start now and replace Looney who is just too slow and can no longer protect the rim or be effective on defense. Looney off the bench is the best.
He has to take most of Loon's minutes at this point especially in the regular season. He doesn't necessarily need to start as long as he is in the game down the stretch. The crazy thing is he's not even amazing by NBA standards. He's just something this team mostly isn't.... Young and athletic with enough college experience to fit in quickly. The next steps Kerr needs to take on his way to becoming a proper coach is to try TJD and Saric in the same line up and allow Saric to play the position he's best at. I think we can see the potential writing on the wall for Dray and most definitely for Dray and Loon sharing the court together. They just can't. Ship Dray and Wiggins at the deadline ideally and bring them off the bench until then. (Obviously dray will be back whenever he's back). CP is the easiest contract to move but he's coming off the books and now Podz is injured we'll need him at least for the time being.

It's kinda new, but they're too small. I have no idea why the Celtics didn't just keep on posting Tatum, Brown, and Horford. They had so much success.
