I'm so happy that you made this video. I was beginning to think my brain couldn't learn these notes and was getting very discouraged. Thank you so much.
Your warm-up video is definitely a prerequisite to this video. Thanks so much for answering my question. Who knew there would be others struggling with upper register issues! I have been trying to add too many notes too soon, when I should be focused on building confidence on one at a time. Norm
If I were to take one lesson away from this video, I’d go with taking time to learn new high notes. I’m certainly secure with finger patterns up to Bb (A#)4. However, I tend to second guess myself when playing notes beyond Bb4, especially because I forget which fingers to use for a specific note. The scale-like exercices presented in this video should give me the tools I need to gradually incorporate the finger patterns into regular practice sessions. Thanks again for such an informative video. (-:
Sorry but your bassoon chart is really hard to read. Could you perhaps make a version with a different colour than yellow to highlight the keys to press? Maybe fluro green or red?
@@BuildingaBassoonist Hi again! I'm comfortable with all the fingerings up to C now, but I'd like to learn high C# and D, and your fingering charts don't include these notes
This is an excellent lesson and your fingering chart is the BEST! Many, MANY thanks! I may manage to learn these fingerings after all! 😆

I can personally vouch that you are very much capable of learning these notes! 🙂

Thank you so much, I am stuck here trying to get those notes, this is really helpful.
Thank you so much! I'm working on Shosta.9's solo and those C#'s and D's have been killing me.

Hey are able to give tips on playing land of a thousand dances?
Possibly!

Thanks for your feedback - I do intend to eventually redo the chart with different colors to make it easier to read for folks.
