I do like this type of content, especially on hard mode because its difficult to find people playing start from scratch. Also, dont worry about hiring workers. I love hiring workers because it gives a sense of automation, and I thoroughly enjoy automation games. Happy farming!
I agree! I keep seeing creators trying desperately to avoid helpers and loans…. Not very realistic if you ask me. Modern farms run on diesel and loans!
I say this quite a lot. I wasn't a fan of Elmcreek when I first started playing FS22. The three fields are just so small and what could be the equipment yard feels like there isn't any space to drive around. Figuring out the Landscaping Tools and built a farm up in the North-West end of the map from an Addict Gamer video. (Not advertising or promoting). I think eventually I'll buy the Starting Plot of Land and make it a Vineyard and Winery Production Plant.
They should provide different receiver options for trucks. A pintle hook receiver would make it possible to haul any of the trailers (within weight of course).
That would be nice. I just like the idea of rolling with a pickup truck, but maybe the tractor is ultimately more practical anyway. Besides...I used to get into trouble trying to pull a fully loaded trailer up a hill in a pickup back in FS19, so probably good to avoid that. :)
Keyboard and mouse is just fine for driving. I have played hundreds of hours of American truck simulator with all keyboard and mouse. It’s totally fine and feels good for driving actually
I love the length of your videos compared to the “bigger” guys like Raptor and his 6 hour live streams. Ain’t nobody got time for that. I will admit that I skipped ahead through ten minutes of ep 1 while you created your character. 😂 I’m the same way, I feel you! Good stuff though. Keep it up! I’m glad the algorithm gods smiled on you and you showed up in my feed. 🍻
I know a lot of people weren't happy with all of the talking in the first couple of videos, but I didn't get lucky enough for early access, so it was a lot of new stuff at once. I appreciate you sticking with it and I will do my best to continue to improve the content over time. :)
You’ve probably figured this out by now but in the selling screen if you hit X you can see which month the price will be the highest. If I remember right, canola sells for the most in December.
Yeah you definitely don’t want 3 days per season, especially at the beginning. You’ll be sleeping through several seasons while waiting to harvest and you don’t want to have to triple that effort spent. I could see an argument for longer seasons later in the game if you’ve got like 20 fields or something and can’t harvest everything in one day. Otherwise one is plenty. I’m working two medium to largish fields right now and one day is loads of time to get everything done. (They’re right below your area. I believe they were #52 and 53, if I remember right. Good area.)
The ONLY reason I can see having more than 1 day seasons is if you keep it on like a permanent 5 or 10 speed which forces you to prioritize what you are doing on any given day because you eventually run out of sunlight. Actually, that might be an interesting way to play...
Trailer fill limit turned on will fill ur trailer to the max weight limit of the trailer with it off u can fill it to the amount it holds liters wise and as for lease on vehicles theres an upfront cost then a per work day cost and a vehicle hours cost
The information about the lease was not accurate at the time of the video, but thankfully it was updated in a patch shortly after this video went live. :)
Wow you made your last video 7days ago and I'm just started watching this this will be a long jurny and I love your god thanks for reading my comment and have a nice day😀bye I hope I comment on another one of your vids byee
I know this is old and the game has been out fora year but I just came accross your channel, love your content so far but wish you had game sound other then that I have no complaints, subbed.
I am a first time player for farm simulator, i started on start fro mscratch and bought a used middle class tractor. I hav no Land as i restarted 2 times already and i feel the contracts pay the best so far, but i haven tried a lot yet :). Any pros here with some useful tips for a rough start? Whats most profitable in the beginning? Do you use helpers for some things? Tried honey and it paid veeery bad. Tried chickens but i bought the young ones and didnt make it to the point they lay eggs.
Start from scratch as a beginner is very hard. This version is much harder I think than 19, but usually I go one of three ways. Arables, Chickens for eggs, or grass silage. Arables: Wheat oats and barley are about equal in profit but are the lowest for the crops without selling the straw. Canola is the best if you want just a straight yield to profit margin, but it will mean skipping the time between harvests if you have seasons on. You can do Sorghum if you want, but if youre trying for money, Canola is your best bet. To get the best yield, you'll need to do a few things, though you don't have to. To get full yield the steps are: Mulch (if there is already a crop or if the field has the state of 'harvested') Plow (do this and then do every 3rd harvest) Lime (do this and then do every 3rd harvest) Cultivate (field state should change to 'cultivated') Use a roller (state should change to seedbed) Fertilize (you will need to fertilize twice, but fertilizing before seeding will allow you to fertilize immediately after seeding so you don't have to remember to do it later, when the growth state changes) Seed with whatever crop you want Fertilize again (This only works because the field state changes between applications. You cannot seed, fertilize and then fertilize again. You must wait until the field state changes to 'growing' to apply the second round) If weeds grow, use a weeder to remove the weeds the second you see them (the field state will change to 'weeds') You can also use herbicide with a sprayer, but you take a small yield penalty. If you have crop destruction on, make sure you have narrow tires on your tractor before you work the field, otherwise, you will destroy crops. Harvest, sell at the best price, then repeat. Note: You do not need to follow these steps if you don't want to, you can just plant, harvest, plant, harvest, but it'll take a lot longer to make any real money. Chickens by far are the most profitable for how easy they are, but they are expensive to start. You can buy food for them, but you take about a 20-30% cut in profit depending on what price you sell (1900 ish/1000L is the highest I've seen on hard) so you just need land, a coup, chickens, a tractor and a trailer. They won't produce eggs until they are six months old, so it's best just to get a few of the old ones first which will produce eggs and breed for you. If you are growing the food yourself, only feed them barley. It has the highest yield, so you will get the most eggs/acre of farmland. One chicken will eat 5 L of feed per month, regardless of the type, and produce 10 L of eggs. I usually wait until I have full palets to sell, but that's up to you. The last thing is silage, which is the most expensive and most difficult of the options simply because there are a few more steps. First you need some grass, you either have to plant it (follow the same steps for the arable crops except you will not need to fertilize twice) or buy a field with it already in. You only have to plant it once, so you can lease the seeder. Then you need a mower, a windrower, and a baler (with a wrapper or you have to get a wrapper separately). You'll also need a trailer to move the bales, either automatically or manually. Cut the grass, windrow it, then bale it (and then wrap if your baler can't wrap). Make sure your baler, warper and bale trailer all work with the same type of bales. Don't get a round baler with a square bale trailer or vice versa. Then pick up the bales and sell them once they become silage (if you hover over them, it'll tell you what percent fermentation they are at). Hope this helps. Farmer Cop has some great videos to watch if you don't like reading.
@@strikevipermkII Thanks, very good advice. i found out a lot by myself by now. I started a game now from scratch but on easy economy. it still feels slow without having the house to skip time. I found also that silage does good profit on easy. One more question. What happens with reproduction of animals if your encclosure is full? Do they stop reproducing or are they autosold or are they distributed or can be distributed to more empty enclosures nearby? So far i only seen that the chickens went from 180 to full 360 chickens after one cycle. I am slowly getting the hang of it. And also the repaircost for vehicles are painfull ;D.
Dude, the metric system is simple and consistent. One cubic meter is 1000 liters. Why won't Americans learn the simplest measurement system on the planet? Disclaimer, I am an American who studied STEM.
I don't disagree with your logic, metric does make a lot more sense, but it is really hard to relearn something that's engrained into your brain, lol. (at least for me)
I think the steering setting toggle meant when you steer right it would automatically reset the steering wheel central over time- rather than stick to the right
Now that you say that I vaguely remember my Science teacher in 6th grade saying the same thing...so she was right I WILL use what I learn someday, lol.

1m cubed is 1000L, 8m3 is therefore 8000L

That makes sense. I think I'm so use to Capacity being measured in the L format.
