Does anyone out there remember when this band played at "The Scene" on Fillmore St. in San Francisco? I used to go hear "Raw Soul" here on a regular basis during the 1970's.Good times doesn't begin to describe the pleasures i experienced there!

Man, I'd always heard the Frankie Beverly and Co. were from Philly, but you'd never know it by listening to this. They sound like a straight-up San Francisco band. That Santana influence is saturating their sound...and that's a GOOD thing! Interestingly, after first "Maze" album on Capitol, they sort of tamped that aspect of their music down. Frankie is actually DEALING on that wah-wah pedal!
i never thought i would see rare pre maze footage. this was around the time prior to when marvin gaye started grooming them. this song was later in an extended version on maze second album,golden time of day. 50 cent also sampled it.
