She makes sense though. There’s going to be a lot of people who use a large vocal range. This guy will have only one type of music and his range is limited. Idol is not for him. He deserves to be in a country competition where he can expand on different sounds because idol will pigeonhole him into one sound and style and he won’t be able to get out of it for years. He deserves better than that. She knows how Idol will ruin him.

A tenor that sings this low is indeed very rare, thats why we call them BASS
Tenores = high pitched male voices
Baritones/Baritonos = middle pitched voice (can transition from low to high regions of male voices)
Basses/Bassos = low pitched male voices (like him)

There was a man who worked in a T shirt shop in the city I am in and that man had a voice so deep and quiet I had to strain to hear him talk . I still think he had the deepest voice I have ever heard.

He's using it properly, but he has too many options. He can do radio, voice overs , old classic songs etc. But he has to single out one thing he will use it best at or it will just get exploited and he'll end up as a gimmick.

I understand why she said no. While his voice is the smoothest thing I've heard for a long time, they're looking for pop singers. The next pre-teen they can sell to a mass audience of other pre-teens. He sounds too old school and tweens aren't into that.
Getting him over to the alternative scene though or metal! He could be the new Glenn Danzig with rock vocal training (who was always called Evil Elvis).
