  • In this video, we look at a qualitative explanation of over-damped, critically damped, and underdamped damped oscillators. We begin by identifying what damped oscillation is and then defining the characteristic equation. The characteristic equation defines roots and depending on the "stuff" under the radical we get different damping outcomes: overdamped, critically damped, and underdamped.
