I really hope Kiyo will be able to have a family of his own. He's absorbed and expressed so many of the unique behaviors that Shabani has been innately gifted with. To me, Kiyo seems even more affectionate than Shabani and he's amazing with eye contact, especially if he's concerned about any of the others. He's a natural entertainer and makes me break into giggle fits. (Which this video gave me many of them.) I feel so fortunate to be able to have this blessed opportunity to watch this family. They help me get through tough times and I'm immensely appreciative of that. Thanks for another lovely video.❤

what an absolute goofy character, when he is in his play mood he really is in the zone. his personality is one of a child stuck in a maturing adult's body. so great for him to put on a show for the crowd 😆😂
I just love Kiyomasa with the sack over his head and his moves. The guide did not know what to say. And funny how Shabani pulls the sack off Kiyos head. Like father, like son when it comes to having fun. Shabani is a child at heart and I love when he and Kiyo bond.

He is such a character! I'm glad Shabani is always happy to play with his youngsters; they retain a playfulness that must be beneficial as captive gorillas (rather than sitting around looking depressed).
Shabani wanted ALL the burlap sacks. 😂 They are so aware of how they carry stuff even if both hands are being used they can switch up and use a foot. I have tried using a foot for retrieval and throwing something out, it's not so easy at 60, not so bad when I was younger..😂

The male gorilla is just demonstrating that gorillas have a playful streak. I love it, he reminds me of my kids when they were little. Shabani says, “Hey, that looks like fun. Let me try that.”

So sad to see how bored they're living in captivity. When they were meant to live w their troops in the wild. Its a great injustice to have them in captivity. My heart breaks for all of them.
Do you think some of these rope biting, hand and head shaking behaviors are symptoms of boredom and restlessness from being in captivity? Or are they simply play? Are the observed in wild gorillas?
Reminds me of an 8 year old me who tried to sneak into my older step brothers first teen party and doing my best to be as inconspicuous as I could possibly manage. Want to know what most kids are thinking at any given time? Well, it's usually just gobbledygook.
Kiyomasa appeared to not want an audience. I’ve never seen this behavior from other gorilla families at zoos in Japan. Kiyomasa seems very confused lately which is common for maturing males in a family.
Seems like the tour guide is annoying the gorillas. So much loud noise. Kids screaming, announcing on a loud PA system and no thought given to disturbing the gorillas all day long!
