I understand your perspective on sticking to the 16 bar routine, but this is what Lord of the Mics is. The structure is 16 for 16 but you have to have double or more bars prepared when toy come to lord of the mics, and they both have members of their team in the room and neutrals so if they rate the bar they can hype it, thats just how grime battles are and always have been, you always gotta have more bars than the 16s you're meant to have
I feel that. I’m just used to a little more structure and control if the owner of a business is in the room. But I get that this is the essence as well.
I think technically the hype sessions(at least for LOTM8) were recorded after the clashes, but I agree I'd rather they not use the same bars between the clash and the hype sessions. tbf tho like I said in the other video, some of these guys had sick hype sessions but then flopped in the actual clash so . . . at least we got to hear some of the bars in a higher quality performance also regarding going over time / bar count, I think its a culture thing, it's relatively common to intentionally overpower the other guy when he tries to start spitting. idk if its always intentional, but Bilzar and Vigilant both did it to Zen in their respective clashes
To be honest on every LOTM there's an example of people going over the agreed 16/32 bar each structure. It happens almost once every LOTM clash at least but there's more obvious examples on every LOTM. Its a bit of a thing of like dominating the clash and making a point that they've come with more bars than the other guy.
Also bit of background on this clash, Gen announced on twitter like a week before the clash that he hadnt written enough bars after having said all over twitter that he was the best mc in the country and that he'd beat anyone in a clash so Rawza obviously had a point to prove
@@H66699 were not signing contracts with agreed terms? I’ve been pampered by URL I just can’t get why this don’t get ruin how it needs. It’s literally an atm if done correctly 😭😭🤷🏾♂️
@@Jurnalist_ LOL my reply got filtered: If rules aren't enforced, then there are no rules ygm. If a MC wants to stick to the rules then cool. But if man starts spitting 32s, then spit over him or spit a 64, f it ygm (then when he complains THEN call him out on it). You got to regulate the ting yourself, don't just whine like a b, this ain't football. You can't let a guy steamroll you, Jammer ain't your Dad. If man wants to spit a 32, then it's up to you to deal with it.
A lot of grime spitters lazy, n only write 16s then rinse the same 5 - 6 16 bars they have on every set, stage show, radio, freestyles that's why allot of grime guys have singalong bars at stage show cos fans are hearing the same couple bars all the time n n they end up being drilled in our heads and we all know every word
That’s my biggest issue with the grime scene as a newbie. I write so much and so often that reusing or and remembering bars is my issue especially as my bg is not gone so I write 32-64 with ease when next man is doing 8-21 at most
Yh if you ain’t gunna stop a man spitting over you then it’s on you, this is war if you think there’s rules then you ain’t built for it cuh ain’t no one coming to save you these sides brudda 🤣🤣🤣
Who is suggesting these terrible clashes... Tez Kidd vs Hypes please, we need to up the standards... I'm starting to feel ashamed of my culture. I agree with Jurnalist on some things, Jammer needs to pattern this ting better. But, I do think he over thinks things though... it's over produced in some areas. LOTM should have staples... spitting on 'steps' should be a staple that could be updated like in Discarda vs Jaykaye - which had an audience... on Smack Battle Rap they face each other, on LOTM they stand on steps and spit at the cam. Jammer needs to monitor the number of bars etc... back to back bars with insults but more emphasis should be on flow and catching the beat in addition to rebuttles... Tezz Kidd vs Hypes is a perfect example, back to back, non-stop... rap until failure... just keep spitting back and forth until they run out of riddim... all my suggestions are certy, stop taking these trash suggestions please... it's embarrassing.
Very good review lol thanks g 🤣
Np my g. You still doing bits? If so send me a new joint.

I swear all hype sessions are recorded before the clash.
That's the sad story of grime (it had so much potential)
